As a historian, one of the first things I've learned is that in every war, people start using tactics from the last war to win the current one. Such it was in the Great War. I highly recommend you check out Indy Neidell's channel The Great War and watch the videos there.

Devil Dogs has a similar style music video, what's really cool is you can see how diverse their fans are in the crowd, men and women, young and old all jamming out to a song about the US Marine Corps. And yeah, "Sabaton glorifies war", especially true with songs like The Great War, The End of the War to End Wars, Price of A Mile, Cliffs of Gallipoli, To Hell and Back, En Livstig I Krig/A Lifetime of War, Ballad of the Bull, and The Final Solution.

@@VikingReacts Eric Coldfire gives you great options on Sabaton's take on what happens in war. Like you said you just have to read\listen to the lyrics. The barb wire Joakim is setting is the in ear speaker. Sabaton makes a point of having a all age show whenever and wherever possible. Keep up with the great reactions. Hug from Portugal.

yes Sabaton has an great eye for detail. the "barbed wire" wire thing you saw was his IEM (In Ear Monitor). Also the choir that was used for this tour gave me hella goosebumps when I saw them at graspop 2019.

Part of this video was filmed in Pilsen, Czech republic (scenes from building that stage, amphitheater crowd and military tech and airplanes) during traditional Days of Liberation. That military tech is part of traditional Convoy of Liberty, parade going through Pilsen streets with jeeps, tanks and so on. There are big military camps in citiy parks... It's awesome every year.

I just found this reaction video and yes its 2 years old but i still have to correct you: ww1 was NOT the first global war. There was the little known war called the "7years' war" which was somewhere in the mid 1700s and had every single continent except antarctica taking a part. Most of them were of course a part of another empire but it still had all continents taking a part

4:21 Unless I'm mistaken, the planes are flying the Missing Man formation, done as a way to honor the fallen airmen. The USAF at Seymore Johnson AFB flew it over when my dad was laid to rest with a full military funeral. Glory Be Unto The Fallen, for we remember our honored dead.

Great Video again, and i appreciate the additional information you put into the videos. If you going to react to another Great War song, you should consider the Hisotry version of the song. It has a narrated intro. "Great War", "The future of warfare" and "The war to end all wars" have the best imo, being the title track, the first and last song of the album (last song, since In Flanders Fields does not have a narrated version) The narration makes it so much more hitting, especially with said three songs, since they have the most depressing outlook on the war. You should avoid the red baron as they cut off part of they music intro (unfortunately..) You already did Great war no, so you might want to check out the history version for yourself.

Only just found your channel through your Sabaton reactions! Love what you do and the fact that you do a bit of research and put extra tidbits of facts as well as opinions into your videos. It's a really cool supplement to the spoken commentary. Your reactions to the songs are amazing to see, it really comes through how genuine you are. Being a huge Sabaton fan I love seeing you experiencing the magic as well. :) I also like how you have the whole video up with your cam picture in the corner rather than the other way around with the video in a small box. first week of february before Covid they were in Amsterdam Afas live. With Apocalyptica and Amaranthe. Was my last liveshow before the pandemic hit. This brings back some great memories. Great reaction again, keep them coming!

ok now you got me hooked with your sabaton reactions. i subbed EDIT: sabaton brought me to metal 15 years ago when thier song primo victoria was released.since then i am a loyal fan and saw them live in 2010 in a small venue in berlin. hardly 300 ppl fitted in the room but it was epic. i hope to see them one day again...

In Britain they actually had what they called "pals" battalions. The men from whole families, companies, villages could join up and fight together. If you look at war memorials in Britain you can see some families lost all their men in one attack. The poor die while the rich get richer.

Okey.... I follow a lot of reaction channels dedicated to metal. So far, you are on top 2 alongside A&P Reacts. Might be because we share the dedication to vikings and metal and have the same personality. HOWEVER, might you do me one favour? I would LOVE to see a reaction to "Majesty - Die Like Kings". Also, if you haven't heard Amon Amarth, which probably is Sweden's biggest viking-themed metal band, you should totally react to them too. So far, no reaction channel have ever done one. That is quite the compliment :). I have seen their channel but I have yet to watch them. It is a bit tricky when they have a lot of content I myself want to react to :P. I will add your suggestion to my list of bands to check out. No promises there as I have a LONG list now! So many people...so many requests. But I will check them! Amon Amarth is well known to me as it is one of my favorite metal bands. I once played Twilight of the ThunderGod over all the smart speakers in a huge electronics store in Amsterdam. You were speaking about the horrible reality of WWI. Let me tell you a gruesome statistic I learned of when I was a guide at the National WWI Museum here in the states: During the entirety of the war, 1 out of 3 Frenchmen between the ages of 18 to 33 were dead by the time the final body count was tallied.

Also i eould recommend the band Evergrey the songs Eternal Nocturnal and when august mourns are a nice place to start. Its a Swedish band,his voice is soo emotional and awesome, Maybe you will like it.

I don't want to involve politics here.... BUT! Czechoslovakia was liberated by Soviet troops, not by the Allies. And certainly not the United States. I'm sorry. But your reactions are always good, no matter how true the video is.

Haha, never apologise for education. I don't know everything but like to learn. I know little about Eastern Europe during the war apart from the obvious initial move towards Poland and the fiasco at Stalingrad. By all means... never apologise for that. Thanks ;)
