As a Vikings fan it will be refreshing to have a QB that is mobile. Kirk was a decent QB but lacked the ability to make things happen with his legs.

He actually reminds me a lot of john elway. Big strong makes good choices and loves to win. If he has john's attitude and does not back down spends a little time in the weight room, puts on 10 lbs. To absorb bigger hits, He could become the minnesota messiah.

Vikings had a solid 1st round. Didn’t need to sell the farm for JJ McCarthy, and *still* were able to get Dallas Turner (best edge rusher in this draft) without selling the farm. Brilliant by Kwesi and KOC

I like that "take what they give you" mentality, where Coach mentions not every play will be an 80 yard TD. Kirk Cousins is really good but did have a tendency to force it downfield rather than take the gimme. Very, VERY intrigued by a guy who is more conservative and only pushes it when it's required. In MN, hearing that he's a former hockey player certainly doesn't hurt either He'll fit right in, in the "State of Hockey." Welcome. Skol!

As a lifelong Patsfan I have a love/hate relationship with belichick. But I enjoy seeing this side of him. I think if he was more like the way he is on this show with the local media he probably would still be the coach of the patriots

Watched McCarthy and there's something about him he just has it. NFL won't be to big for him he should have a really good career . He just makes plays that during the game put his team in a position to win. He doesn't get rattled always keeps his mind calm during the game Minnesota I think you have a legitimate franchise QB now who's young things just got a whole lot better for the Vikings . NFC North is going to be really tough on all the franchises whoever ends up winning it is going to be a Superbowl contender. The runner up in the North could be capable of winning a Superbowl. This coming season is going to rock, Lions, Vikings, Packers and Bears oh my!

Alot of picks are not good fits for a team, but this is a great fit. Jj is a winner flat out.

Happy for JJ but feel bad for Michigan. One more year would have bee better for his development. Winning a National title is a huge achievement but throwing a young QB into a position where everything happens so fast and bigger.
