I used to play hardcore packs right up until the tech stage. I even struggled with the concept of machine power for a long time, thinking why I would need it after I had clawed my way to sustained survival.
1:55 I was so terrified i step on this thing on my thirst playthrough... wow Also you can get glowstone flower by pressing bonemeal on grass blocks, can't be used without extractor btw Correct way to setup "dirt bonus under crops with required block" is to put it under CROP > farmland > Dirt1 > Dirt2 > Dirt3 > required block, but i can be wrong about Dirt3 (done this experiment with copper berries before). Bonus is quite small, like 6% (actually don't know, but field with more dirt grows like 30s-1m faster) but that's still good Also funny why you continue building from wood planks instead of spawn-proof blocks there, can use microblocks saw, can use slabs... U can double row width with berries, and i think you need more... large and linear design, but i quite impressed by carpet concept, really cool. You can hold two items in hands (like in modern minecraft) using battlegear key (G by default) and hold light thingie and weapon (but not tools, so mattock :C does not work there). LV scanner can scan seeds like crop analyzer... but still far away You can try get tin oreberry, and use carpets as standing places to make compact setup but that's min-maxing. Also, didn't you had Thaumium trade? Seems a lot more feasible using it for tools than usefull iron?
Woah that’s a lot of text… :P Thanks for all the info/tips. My plan is to only use the berries for a bit and then move on to using mobs for xp as quite frankly the crops are good but slow and as for now, somewhat expensive… I won’t spoil my plans completely, but I generally think it might work haha(In my brain of course, that is) I’m using planks as a chisel isn’t worth making at this point(again expensive) As for the Thaumium trade, coins are required(another reason for the mob farm) ;)
Ahh beautiful actual edited gog videos. Gl when it comes to the green sapphire grind. This makes me want to edit the 800 hours of stream footage I have for this challenge
villagers beware… YOU’RE IN FOR A SCARE! been loving this series, i love watching super grindy playthroughs like this and its a super neat challenge to watch!
Once you get to LV, you can make the crop manager to harvest the ore berries automatically. Also you can put the crops sticks down plant the ore berries then surround the sides and top with slabs to create a dark environment for them to grow and it leaves a small space to harvest them. I usually make long strips of them to harvest alot of ore berries early without creating a dark room
Great Video Man! Just a bit of advice man, if you use the GT saw on your crafting table, you can turn it into a Tinker's worktable that will not only let hold items you leave inside of it, you can also directly shift items into its crafting grid, for those tedious XP bucket recipes.
I like to think that you created a villager shaking machine, which shakes the villagers up and down with a wave machine so they drop all their emeralds
Lol the moment you started on this emerald colection system I already thought of the design you ended up with and then it was so painful towatch you and realize you didnt get that idea until later on.
Holy moly the mega grind was long as heck, cant imagine the amount of work it must have taken to release a video every 3-4 days with this speed of progress
At the time I was so excited/happy I just went with it, luckily it dropped seeds But yea, after watching the footage back I definitely should’ve tried to get more beforehand
It would be incredibly costly, but I think speedrunning to the steam age is the best way to progress! Mainly for the macerator. The macerator can grind up all that useless equipment from the mob farm (you'll need to combine them to repair them, it only works at full durability) to get quite a lot of free iron, and more importantly, steel from the chainmail armor. (Though the occasional diamond gear can be a great fuel when ground up) You won't be able to get steel ingots from this without the smeltery, but! With 5 steel dust 2 obsidian dust and 2 aluminum dust you can craft 8 alumite dust! Which can be smelted in a normal furnace and the GT tools have more durability than steel ones! It's a bit of a hassle but it works pretty well for me. You'll need the macerator for the aluminum oreberries tho. As a final thought, though I could be mistaken, crops have the same drops no mater how they're harvested, it just that blaze roots are pretty rare! Please try not to burnout! And ask if you have questions! Have a great grindy day!
Great minds think alike! ;) I wasn’t aware about that mechanic with the macerator, still I can simply repair and essentially grind them down to dust. I did in-fact spot the steel dust also when browsing at things, thought it mind come in handy some way or another so that’s good to know. Thanks! I shall not be defeated
You, Sir, yes You, are doin go*cough*gregs work. Trurly amazing and scary thanks for doin series on this modpack recently just started and im in lv age, it seems like a child play compared to garden of grind.
You could put blocks above the water to separate the villagers. This is to trade with the specific ones you want easier, prolly would want multiple levels of villagers if you do this
Mobs spawn faster if you are further down in the world so building your mobfarm as far down as possible would greatly improve your rates and I think if I saw it correctly your hoppers might not be connected to the emerald collection chest. Else it's a great series so far and very satisfying to watch!
Try the cow thing, but make sure to have a few cows hidden from that view of you eating their parents. I assume if they don't see you then it's fine to eat beef steak. Make like a killing chamber where outside unwanted viewer cows don't see you eat beef and in the killing chamber they can see you eat an can go mental with out leaving the chamber it would be hilarious to see if it would work like that 😂🤣🤔👀
Tbh the mega grind bit overstayed its welcome if i wanted just gameplay i would have just played I suggest only doing that sort of tbimg in short segments or even doing some commentary over it. You are clearly editing it anyways might as well make it enjoyable
@gardenofgrind could you make enormous gigantic mega base which takes up 63by63 region files which has outside and inside decoration, houses, pathways/streets, signs, parks ETC...?
I did consider this, but in all the previous parts I didn’t… I went against it in the end to give those clips a sense of loneliness/emptiness as I’m trapped in a skyblock environment. So when a random boom goes off or a plant makes a strange sound or whatever you really get a sense of how I felt. But I would definitely say this will be more than likely the last as the next grinding clips will involve more explaining etc…
Interresting Take, i guess i am used to the Style of threefolds Videos when watching greg But still nice Videos, im really curious how the progression Looks at gog
i have a question. i tried playing a slightly outdated version of this modpack (from last year) but Vario doesn't work and idk why. i have the controls set properly but they never do anything
not gonna lie: I didn't always get why you F5d and waved into the camera during your montage. maybe you could display a little text that says "finally, I got pumkin" or something like that? Just something that let's us know what is doing on. because I have lost track what you are breeding for (yes, XP, but what steps are leading towards that crop).
on the latest version of GTNH there is currently only one thing stopping the GoG run from being fully routed to stargate. That thing being chaos shards, which are unobtainable under our ruleset at this moment. That being said we are currently looking at getting an alternative recipe added that would follow the flavor of the base game and allow stargate to be possible.
