Seems like just using less water would solve that problem as well as our water supply issues. But yes, let’s overwater and then send contaminated water back into our water supply. Who doesn’t want cancer, thyroid or fertility problems?

You're assuming that irrigation is used, but many places (especially in tropical countries) are so rainy that no irrigation at all is used, rainwater is more than enough --- and often too much. It is basically for these places that the machine is intended. Brazil, for example, has many areas like that, which don't need irrigation but do need drainage --- and not incidentally, the video shown to them had text in Brazilian Portuguese. (True that Brazil has dry areas, too, as well as areas that alternate very wet and very dry seasons. The country is so immensely big that it has a lot of different climates, soils, plant cover types, and landscapes.)

@@OSRS_Emperor Oh yes, there are several Atlas Pro videos, in fact, which I'd love see the guys react to. Unfortunately, translating seems to be the problem at the moment - apparently, the channel operator is currently short of time for translations and dubs. I hope, though, that this might change in the near future.

It takes some serious maturity from a teenager to do what he did here. He does this type of work as one part of his job, then finds out his work will become obsolete with time due to new technology. He already earns the equivalent of about $1.50 a month, max. Admittedly, while still very little, that is a lot more than the number makes it sound in practice, but these guys would almost never be able to afford to leave their country. Despite all of this, Aman is still able understand why this is important and sees it as a net positive. His attitude is going to bring him a bright future.

Not really, the problem is that hiring labor for farm work is cheaper than local. Mostly due to government red tape and requirements. Labor shortage for farm work comes from a few other issues such as an unpredictable work schedule. I know in Wisconsin and Iowa a lot of factories intentionally expand their workforce outside of harvest season. Also most of the worker shortages in the past couple of years are governmental self inflicted wounds.

@@MayimHastings He is! I'm just guessing, but despite the fact he's a little brash, I think he's also a bit in awe of Raeen and Guddu, who've been professionals for a good while. But when there's something he knows about, he gets a lot more confident. 😀 It's fun to see. Yes, I don't know why more people don't think to email. I think they only have a little over 100 patrons, so it's not like they're bombarded with hundreds of requests every day. LOL on the whales. I've looked a couple times for some good, basic info on cetaceans, and it's hard. What I've seen so far are too long, too scientific, or too directed towards kids. Maybe if I stopped looking for an overview of all cetaceans, and focused on individual species... You have a good weekend too!

I had the same thought the other day. They definitely need to screen what topics they cover, and then in particular the videos because they have a bad habbit of making the worst choices.

You're talking about the situation in developed countries. In many Third World places, agriculture is the ONLY work source for the population, and that depends on manual labor. There's no discussing whether spending all day in the hot sun is desirable or not, it HAS to be done if the person wants to survive and feed their family, there's no other choice, and things have been so for centuries. (Air conditioning??? Seriously??? Do you think they even heard that something like a/c exists? They often don't even have electricity!) India is an example, and the people in the video either are agricultural workers themselves (like Aman) or do support work for agricultural activities (like Guddu, who is a blacksmith who makes plows and tools, for example). Despite some megacities like Delhi or Mumbai, the majority of the population of India is still rural and depends solely on agriculture for a living. We're talking about something like twice the population of the U.S. living from agriculture just in India! Then there are large middle-income countries like Brazil, Argentina, or South Africa (which have features of both developed and underdeveloped countries, being at some point between the extremes). These countries have vast expanses of land and are wealthy enough to support many large agroindustrial corporations, but human labor is still very cheap. So, what happens is that mechanized agriculture is more used in large corporate farms in more remote and unpopulated parts of the country, while in more densely populated areas human labor is still more cost-effective. It *could* be mechanized, but it often isn't because human labor is still cheaper, and there's no shortage of people eager to work all day for a plate of food.

It seemed to me they thought the machinery was taking jobs away when actually it’s helping the company grow which in turn adds many more jobs to the supply chain. The more they can farm in a short amount of time, the more they can package, the more they can ship, and the farther they can deliver. It’s not anything they can do on their own farms; it’s a completely diff operation. I did notice before the video that they hoped to learn something that might help them, and I hope the channel will look for videos of things that could help them in their daily lives.
