2.5 million Indian men fought in WW2 under the British flag. 11,500 Indian women were part of the The Women's Auxiliary Corps (India). The men fought in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria and Italy and against the Japanese in Malaya and Burma. These campaigns cost the lives of over 87,000 Indian servicemen, while another 34,354 were wounded. Their valour was recognised with the award of some 4,000 decorations, and 18 members of BIA were awarded the Victoria Cross or the George Cross. Even though their accomplishments were under the British flag their deeds should not be forgotten by modern India.

I think the full context is beyond them. The problem with these types of videos is they react instantly to whatever they see, jump to not-inaccurate but sheltered conclusions, and make a comment on it. Watch first, comment after. There is very little actual education and reasoning going on. It isn't that these men are not capable of learning all the facts, the videos they watch are just too short and over their heads. You cannot go from knowing virtually nothing about something like World War 2 to appreciating the amazing and blessëd victory the Allies won in 15 minutes.

They are learning at their own pace. They learnt essentially in a lot of detail in 1st video lots of people died. 2nd video this one. They learn died because Germany started a war of land sea and sky. They do no know they took all these people to camps and gas chambers or why. I agree that part went over their heads in the 1st video. The real atrocity I find is not only the high number of senseless deaths, but the cruelty inflicted and the brain washing. The cruelty and the psychology behind soldiers blindly following ... these are the whys we all have asked upon learning the facts why didnt they stop it why would they do something so cruel etc.. Psychology prisoner & guard study I believe it was explains this blind following. This is the school education we learn in uk. So would be good for them to learn this (Annoys me not taught about Indian or african soldiers who joined the fight but doesnt suprise me Britain washes out a lot from history books. Nothing in schools taught about bad stuff we did to others really. Be good if they could teach us all that extra too. I believe we should learn good and bad to not repeat mistakes of our history) Lastly the most up to date evidence on ww2 released 2018-present is: 1. the newly released Vatican files showing how they lied to other countries telling them they didnt know when asked to confirm if the atrocities/ gas camps etc were true to which they had letters confirming they were true, as well as going to great lengths to get nzi officials out of Germany to safe locations to south America. This new Pope thankfully has released this evidence when all others refused. The church ask its followers to apologise for their sins, so they must also apologise for their sins. They must not be hypocrites. Bad move all who covered it up until now. Good move for the Pope 😊 🎉 2. Hitler did not commit suicide in that bunker, his bones have a red clay on them not found anywhere in the country he is buried, but is found in south america, so he has definitely been buried and dug up from 2 diff countries, and recently declassified fbi files /gov files across the world shows international gov were hunting down escaped nzis and were starting to qu if Hitler really died in the bunker. They were restarting efforts, had funding and built camps in south America, had access to heavy water. (Hunting Hitler drags this out for drama but does explain gov documents well visit locations talk to living witnesses etc). The spies and govs hunting them down knew war criminals escaped and where to but not always able to capture, but this is not mentioned in history books or demand those countries to release them ? Only few captured in old age? They got to live out life after killing many in safe havens in south America with new identities, and carrying on torture in some dark places they set up. This should also be taught in history books that we caught some but some got safe havens protected by the gov of the country/church. Because of this delay of international govs to release their intelligence files or the vatican files our history books are incomplete and out of date. Lessons learnt from history therefore are incomplete..

I agree that they should be made aware of it, but I don't think that it is fitting in the context of ww2, as it didn't play a major role in it. I think a documentary/ information about the third Reich would be the more fitting context to inform them about the Holocaust, so that they can follow the development, circumstances and environment that made this horrific crime possible and turned people that were by all accords regarded as rather ordinary or even friendly capable of becoming monsters. There is nothing scarier than a "good" person convinced that they are doing a just deed. When looking at the holocaust it is at least in my opinion one of the most important lessons to be learned about how easily ordinary people can be corrupted into doing the most heindous crimes and therefore how aware and questioning we all should be to prohibit anything like this from ever occurring again.

To answer Babu's question near the end, Hitler started the war because he was angry about the Paris Accords, which was the treaty that ended WWI. Germany had to officially take responsibility for starting THAT war too, and they were under heavy restrictions imposed by the other nations. He also hated the current government for accepting it and living by it (the Accords). He attempted to overthrow the government by force in the early 30s, and spent a while in jail, where he wrote his infamous book "Mein Kampf" (My Struggle). It also gained popularity and helped him win a legitimate election when he was free from prison. Hitler built a large part of his military in secret, and when discovered, he basically said "Too bad, I'm doing it anyway." Then he invaded Poland, and the world STILL did nothing. I think he conquered at least 2 more countries before anyone tried to stop him, but it was too late by then and his people not only supported him, but his military gained huge confidence, so the allies started on the back foot so to speak.
