Watching the men eat the fried shrimp makes me Drool for a shrimp PoBoy sandwich; French bread Loaded with the fried shrimp, lettuce and tomato, mayonnaise and ketchup with some sliced dill pickles. Aw I wish they had gotten real popcorn shrimp. The 70/90 size to undersand it's popcorn because of the size, especially served with cocktail sauce. I'm sure they would have enjoyed the flavour of the horseradish complimenting the seafood flavour. I love their reactions!

As far as regular popcorn goes,, there are many flavors here in America. Caramel and cheese flavor are my favorite. With they could get caramel flavor or a box of fiddle faddle. It’s caramel flavored with peanuts in it.

Alas, the gentlemen have never been blessed with Kettle Corn... I wonder how expensive popcorn kernels are there. If they learned to pop their own, they could sprinkle it with their own spice blend or even mix it with meat, instead of rice.

Can we just appreciate the supplementary pictures so we can visualize everything they're talking about? So on point. Shouldn't be that hard to do with google and youtube screenshots either. Keep up the good work! And I just love how much Aman is enjoying it! You go my man! And somehow him trying new stuff which some call insects reminds me of the time I tried silkworms and it was delicious. Now I feel like eating insects and enjoying them like Aman enjoys shrimp lol.

Insects of the sea are wonderful . Seafood pho is amazing , seafood gumbo is simply satisfying to one's soul , grilled shrimp with cocktail sauce is necessary to reach nirvana.

It's called after popcorn because it looks similar to popcorn in shape. We can do this with chicken too, but not other meats that I know of.

I'm also wondering about the word kurkure which is crispy, but in Indonesian or Dutch, kurkuma is the word for turmeric. I wonder what the connection is. Is it because turmeric comes from India or maybe the color of fried things are golden like turmeric? Hmmmm 🤔

Word Kurkure comes out of the sound that crunchy items make while you eat them. In Hindi we interpret the sound as "Karr-karr" hence Kurkure. Hindi word for turmeric is Haldi.

"Have you ever eaten popcorn?" "Sure" "Here's some shrimp." "This is nothing like popcorn." "Correct." J/K... Of course "popcorn" shrimp just refers to the size of the [breaded and fried] shrimp, and the fact you get a bunch of them together, like of like a bowl of popcorn. They're very bite-sized, just like popcorn. Also, typically the hard "tails" have been removed prior to battering / frying, unlike, for instance with something like coconut prawns, where the tail is left on and should probably be taken off prior to eating (it pulls off pretty easily).

They were eating fried shrimp,probably 20-30s to the pound. Popcorn shrimp are smaller 30-40s.Same thing,the only difference is the size of the shrimp.they should be about the size of popcorn to be called that.

I love popcorn shrimp. My grandma taught me how to fried popcorn shrimp 🍤. She said clean it and then set aside. Mixed milk and eggs together. After that she used honey corn bread mix. Then use deep fryer or deep iron skillet with oil. So next is dip shrimp 🦐 in milk & eggs. After that put shrimp in batter them put it in deep fryer or deep iron skillet. Cook it until golden brown or until the batters cook throughly.

I hope they were not served plain ketchup. That would be barbaric. Proper Shrimp cocktail sauce is the only correct sauce with shrimp. Sauce: 1 cup ketchup 1 lemon, zest finely grated and juiced 4 teaspoons prepared horseradish, or to taste, drained 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce Hot sauce, to taste

So many different ways to cook shrimp. Shrimp Creole, shrimp Gumbo, shrimp etouffe, so many more. I think you would enjoy them all. By the way shrimp have no bones. You just have to dehead them and shell them. So good.

That’s not popcorn shrimp, it’s too big. Still, any fried shrimp is good. You need cocktail sauce though, never ketchup, that ruined it. It’s easy to make if you can’t find it prepared though. You were half right but you need to grate horseradish and mix it with the ketchup.

Popcorn shrimp is a pretty good seafood. The American seafood restaurant chain Red Lobster has the best popcorn shrimp in my honest opinion.

Shrimps steamed with onions, garlic, salt, pepper, parsley, white wine, bread crumbs... so basically the way the French, Italians, Croatians cook them is also very nice. Same recipe for mussels. If you haven't eaten that yet, do that first before serving. You can make a million things wrong. ;-)

Show these people how to make pop corn in a saucepan, do you have icing sugar to coat it in with unsalted butter, or pour home made hot caramel over it and they will make a fortune. Prawns or shrimp are crustaceans, nothing like insects. Those friends will change their minds quick, if they ever eat prawns. The best way to eat prawns is boiled, chillled and peeled on a bed of cucumber batons with ripe mango cubes, maybe quartered figs if you have them. Have you fed them prawn cocktails yet, with the well mixed tomato sauce and mayonnaise (equal amounts) "thousand island" style dressing?

That's not popcorn shrimp. Actual popcorn shrimp are MUCH smaller shrimp. That looks like regular breaded (medium-size) deep-fried shrimp, but not "popcorn" shrimp. The shrimp being eaten here are much nicer than tiny little popcorn shrimp... which are typically eaten by the handful - like you eat popcorn.
