New subscriber after your Master Chaos live stream recently and man you are a treasure trove of information. I wish I had this much solid info about boutique collecting when I got interested years and years back. I appreciate what you do man.
Hey! Appreciate that! Here to help! Take a look around and if you see anything you got questions on or would love a video on some specific focus, let me know and I’ll see what I can do! Glad to have you!
Excellent video! I loved your exact price breakdowns. If I was in the USA I would have become a sub years ago. But as an international you have to pay 160$ shipping, so you have to pay full shipping for each month, which basically renders the whole deal useless, as I have to pay customs fees for each package as well.
Yeah… internationally is unfortunately a completely different thing. International shipping is just getting worse and worse right now. Sorry you have to face that :(
Thanks for putting this together Ryan, this was all really helpful stuff, especially the list of limited titles below 1k. I actually kept a list of the no. count on some of the ones I planned on buying during the sale but that was early this month, a lot had surprisingly dropped fast even from just regular sales. I actually had seen Liquid Sky a few years ago on a streaming service, before I knew about Vinegar Syndrome, it's great they got to add such a relevant film to their library
Super-useful video, really focused and detailed breakdown of all the important facts - as always from this channel. Some of the recommended titles were not on my radar yet, will definitely be checking them out.
Agreed that the yearly subscription is completely worth it, disagree with the idea that 2021 was a lesser year. I thought they had a terrific mix of movies I love that I never thought I'd see (Winterbeast, The Cellar, Ticks on 4K (!), the upcoming Creature and Ebola Syndrome) and new gems (Death Promise and Beyond Dreams Door were standouts for me). Anyway, awesome video, exactly what I come to channels like this for.
I agree with you fully. I think there are certain specific titles that people were turned off by that somehow tainted their view of the entire year. I don’t get it, though, because it all seemed pretty great to me!
Already decided to do my first subscription in 2022 for all the reasons you mentioned but it was still good to have that all reinforced so thank you. Thanks for limited stock list as well.
Got to say loving the content so far especially vinegar syndrome stuff because it's my favorite label and we definitely are on the same page with alot of the ones that you recommend.
They’re still there… they’re just the much older titles and DVDs, sadly. I get it. I don’t think it’s JUST Vinegar Syndrome, though. Like- I don’t think they’re gouging or anything. These other boutiques are doing the exact same thing. I’m even hearing that scream factory is the most expensive one to deal with behind the scenes.
Man, great video, but I watched it out of pure masochism: I'm not going to be in the position to subscribe or even participate in this sale. There's always next year, though! Keep up the good work.
It is only offered twice a year: during their Black Friday sale in November You can do it for the entirety of the following year or in May during their halfway sale, you can do it for the remainder of that year.
@@TheDiscConnected I ordered Prospect Limited Edition as my first from them. Should be here in a few days. I definitely want some of the 4K titles like Ticks, Dead Heat, Summer of 84’. It’s nice that some of the newer steaming stuff is getting decent physical releases. Thanks for the quick response!
Do you use the VS slipcover protectors or do you get them somewhere else? Looking for a solution myself, but hope to find something a little cheaper to buy in bulk.
Great video! I've been on the fence about becoming a subscriber for years, but think I'm going to do it this year. Your channel and twitter feed are really bad for my wallet.
I don't have a lot of bad words to say about Vinegar Syndrome, as they've never been rude to me or messed up an order in any way and their packaging is always top-shelf. That being said, the subscription has become increasingly non-inclusive with each passing year and, for that reason, it's starting to not be worth it. At this point, they should think about doing a subscription for all the things you're NOT getting as a yearly subscriber, because I'm pretty sure it's about ten times as much as what you are.
While I understand the sentiment, I also understand the decisions they’re making from their point of view. It’s expensive to do what they’re doing. Not to mention, other labels partnering with them to get more eyes on products makes everyone happy. No reason anyone HAS to have every single release but yeah… I understand.
