So basically they took a beta version of the homebrew SNES emulator for PS2, put a bunch of old Mario games on it, put it on a disc, then sold it off as "Super Mario Bros Extreme Edition". _Quality_ product right there.

brazilian kid here, pretty much grew up with these bootle games (smh the menu music is the EXACT SAME of the one I had) but they costed cents. which in dollars would pretty much amount to nothing. how there are people selling and *actually buying* this shit for 20 brazilian reais is hilarious to me.

I'm brazilian and can confirm this was kinda the shit back when i was younger, at around 2004 - 2013. NESs,SNESs,N64,MegaDrives, all classic consoles like these are super rare back here, the only consoles we really had back then were PS1s and PS2s (which are still active to this day, you can still find "aunthentic" PS2 games for sale around here). And as such emulation was pretty much the only way to play old games like these, and when i was like 7 no one knew how to setup emulators in a proper computer, actually almost no one had personal computers as this country is constantly 20 years behind in technology. I actually have 2 diferent copies of PS2 emulatos like this one in my collection that i played a hell of a lot when back then.Also worth noting is the abundance of GTA Bootlegs like GTA Sonic Rings and that GTA Dragon Ball, which was just normal San Andreas with a model swap and a trainer installed and , if you were lucky, shitty mods to fly around and what not, and we all fucking loved it. Yeah Brazil sucks. Lets just nuke it and forget it ever happened.

Huh, interesting... That bootleg is just some really old version of SNES Station, an SNES emulator for the PS2, with ROMs pre built into it. That kind of stuff is common practice in the poorer countries, for some reason. They did this exact same kind of stuff with the Dreamcast, for example. Also, that wasn't dollars, that was Brazilian Reais (R$, or BRL). R$25 is more or less 8 dollars.

34:16 Brutal Mario is actually an SMW romhack, a really good one at that. It mainly focused on adding a ton of custom coded shit like level mechanics, bosses, powerups, etc. You should check it out Joel Also, the giant Kirby is one of the games bosses

Damn this brings me back...i still have an actual physical copy of the bootleg at 6:36( the cover is different but the content on the disc is the same), i bought for about 10 R$ from a marketplace close to where i live, now that i think about it, it's pretty wierd that i finished Earthbound on my ps2 >__>

Believe it or not, i actually had one of those in my childhood That one was better quality tho, almost all my PS2 discs were pirated, and i remember playing Super Mario World on my PS2 a lot.
