I'm an American who just watched the UK version... and somehow didn't even notice them showing a release date, then watched this video and was tabbed out when it showed. Ikr?? Nintendo knew what they were doing, it's scummy marketing, and it shows. It's to make you hate the farming games and praise the more popular and battle oriented games they showed. It also makes whatever nostalgia bate remakes (Kirby) or Mario racing maps seem like heaven in comparison. Farming devs got done so dirty that it's ridiculous. It's the equivalent of having a Market Basket across the street from a Walmart. It's a break neck competition between all of them now. Some of them shouldn't have even been shown next to each other for the sheer terms of quality between some. They should have released trailers silently or waited to release them at a later date.

Honestly, as someone who has stop supporting Nintendo and just looks at new articles about what was announced during the direct, I find it's more enjoyable and less disappointing when you're not waiting live to have another "Banjo Kazooie in smash" moment only to be greeted by stuff you don't care about. At the end of the day, they're just ads you can just read about in an email.

Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life is essentially Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life for the Gamecube/PS2 remade. It's easily one of the most iconic games in that series even if it's not the most deep. I spent hours and hours with it back in the day.

It feels like a bunch of Japanese game studios were recently informed of the massive success of Stardew Valley and all decided to make their own farming games at once, 6 years too late. lmao Plus I'm glad we got Zelda at all, we finally got a release date and title reveal. But I really wish the trailer was more substantial. We got Link going out a door, jumping down then landing on a gliding thing. That's it. Really feels like it was only there to shut people up, since they knew people would complain nonstop if it wasn't there.

I don't think there is much they can give us as most systems appear to be the same. BotW worked because we had an entire world to learn about... and when people learned about cooking, durability, or tools in Hyrule Castle the game shattered mechanically. In a mostly explored world we have nothing left. There is a real risk this new game will sell but be disliked because we already know. We already have our style. We have our preferences. We know what is useless. Most everyone is going to upgrade Stamina and cook Hearty Foods. They can't show us much because what little is left hidden is the only thing which helps stop it from being stale.

I played the demo for the first Octopath and it didn't do much for me, but you can already see how much of an improvement II looks to be. Plenty of stuff that was in the LIVE A LIVE remake in there.
