Most people don't realize this. But the ferryman was looking at Askelad's armor because the style of the armor is not a Viking style. It was also mentioned by Thorfinn when Askeladd had his duel with Thors. So far I only really noticed war history nerds notice this detail early on. Because they know the show is about Vikings and this armor design stands out way too much as being out of place.

Don't worry too much, all the things you questioning if I remembered correctly, will be slowly unveiled as the story goes on, I think that's the beauty of Vinland Saga's story telling. Thank you for today reaction and the little story at the beginning XD

It's fine to be annoyed by Canute because when I first watched it I felt the same way as you so don't apologies about it. 😅 but don't worry it's gonna get better later on that's all I'm gonna say for that.

i find it really interesting that almost everyone who watches this finds Canute annoying because he is not a murder machine and rapist but a normal kid... Not even saying it to criticize, this is the respponse i have seen from a lot of friends who watched this too and i find that fascinating that anime can immerse you into another world enough to make you forget the common sense of our world...

how about this he is annoying because 1: he doesn't speak up 2: he always depend on ragnar 3: he acts kinda spoiled (the hawk scene) he is annoying until the point that the spoiler thing happens and the excption of the funny canute and thorsfinn interaction

@@kitetenjo4246 1- You probably would not speak up if you were thrown into bloodthirsty animals, rapists and people that literally live to die in battle 2- Yes, that is what kids are like 3- Yes, again he is a kid... If you have a kid you will understand... He is annoying FOR that time frame because he is a normal human among animals... Which is my point... If you look at it by modern standards Ragnar and he are the only decent human beings in the show... Everyone else either killed and or raped tens/hundreds of people

@@teddymecheto That's cool) I was worried for a second that I misremembered which Slavic country it was. Occasional Bulgarian word would throw me for a loop. I never realised how much vocabulary we share. p.s. In Russian* schools, we also learn f*ckton of Bulgarian history. Hell, land I live on right now used to be part of Great Bulgaria. But I also know Nothing about history of Scandinavia despite them basically founding east Slavic statehood. School education just sucks, in general. * yeah, I know, sadly.

With all the anime she watches I’m kinda surprised Teddy would see a character she was told was male and then because he had a feminine face just assume he was really female.
