This season truly separated the boys from the men.

Now this is an opening that fits the arc of an anime perfectly. 100/100

it is a crime that this opening did not in-fact get nominated for best opening 2023.

Tears to in my eyes. One of greatest anime openings ever. Went from badass Rock music in season 1 that represents the rage, pain, and anger inside thorfinn to a somber pop song in season 2 that represents thorfinn drowning in his tears, sadness, pain, regret, and sorrow. His rise will be beautiful.

Me while waiting for Season 2: “Please be good. Please be good.” Me after the first episode premiered along with the OP and ED: “It’s PERFECT!!!”

If you guys didn’t notice, the credits in the op were in English. You can tell they were making this show with people from overseas in mind. If I remember correctly, Vinland Saga was more successful overseas than in Japan.

The opening is an artistic masterpiece, it tells all the concepts of the first half of the story, the music and the beautiful visuals are a masterpiece. VINLAND SAGA IS THE BEST ANIME OF THE YEAR.

This song is about surrendering yourself. To drop your guard and stop fighting the wild current of the world around you. To let go of your regrets and continue to live and change for the good of the world. What a beautiful, encouraging, healing song this is... Perfect for Thorfinn's arc of forgiving himself and becoming a better person like his father.

The female vocals they get for Vinland Saga are top-notch. They're epicness is wound with tragedy and rings with a passionate desire for acceptance. They synergise so well with the opening and the direction of the series.

Still can’t believe this didnt win opening of the year for anime, one of my favorite openings Ive ever seen, animation and song choice are just perfect

damn, this anime went from people slaughtering each other every episode, with heads flying everywhere and not a single scene without any blood and guts on the floor to some emotional eye-opener that screams *make love not war*

Season 2 is a journey inwards, and what a beautiful journey it is.

I happy people realize that this anime really is not about how much violence you can inflict but how we can atone for our sins

Genuinely one of the best openings I've seen in the last 10 years. Fits so well with the themes of this arc and was meticulously crafted by the song artist and the animation team.

Its been a long, long time since I've enjoyed an opening this much. Its unskippable, I love it.

I know attack on titan is gonna end this year and people are gonna forget vinland saga exist but god damn this is contender for best anime of the year.

Yo something about when Thorfinn and Einars reflections smash the Ice at the end, almost symbolic of them smashing throught their traumas and becoming the men they become at the end of the season.

The best anime of the past 10 years.

First time in my life that I love a chill opening... I've show that Op to my girlfriend. She was astonished directly after 15 seconds. Visual art, the music, the feeling you get by watching it.. She does not read or watch anime but soon, it will be the case cause because of that, she want to watch Vinland Saga 😁

Thorfinn: "I don't want to be your main character anymore!" Opening: "You don't have a choice." drags him into an opening full of water "You're even more of an anime protagonist than you were before!"

Once again, Vinland Saga is one of my favorite anime of 2019.

I will literally never get over how great this opening is. I will never get tired of it.

I can't express how grateful I am for the creative effort of the team behind this anime. After watching the first episode I can already tell they understand the depth of the story and what Yukimura is trying to convey through his art. Magnificent opening 10/10

0:45 has to be the most stunningly beautiful art i've ever seen done for an opener alone. Like usually when you see something that good showrunners (in general) make sure they can cut cost by just reusing episode footage but.... wow

I'm glad that in a few years I will be able to say. "I watched this anime when it came out, I remember what emotions people had at the time." The coming out of this anime can be a really important moment because maybe some people will understand that more serious series are needed in the market.

I love how there's so much attention to detail and inner meanings in the visuals. Like the crown, covered in blood and soaking into Canute and changes him from what was a cowardly man with empathy, to a ruthless man who will do anything to achieve his goals.

Everything is perfect. The lyrics, the aesthetic, the music that feels like a whisper and hits hard in your soul and the symbolism involved in all the frames.

Vinland Saga is top tier all around

I don’t like how often the term “masterpiece” is thrown around but Vinland Saga deserves it. When this opening started playing I started welling up with tears just cause I can feel how much love, time, and effort went into just the opening much less the entire season. Words can’t describe how excited I am for this show!
