*Another Beautiful pc* ... I enjoy how you lay all of the pcs out on the moving blanket. It's just a little touch that sets u apart from other channels I watch.
Wow! The video has it all: An insect attacked lady, wonderful dogs, very good repairs, an amazing book stand and, again, a great restoration. I love this job, man! 👌👌👌
Thank you very much my friend. This was a little easier than usual and was super relaxing to do. Unfortunately my assistant has to go back to university so I will have to work a bit harder on the next one. 🙂
Thank you so so much for taking such loving and intricate care of thos beautiful book stand. As a self confessed bookaholic to see something neglected turn into such a beautiful stand that I would be immensely proud to own is a privilege 🥰🥰🥰
Thank you for the thoughtful comment. I found this on the side of the road and could not believe that someone threw it out. It was not in bad condition at the start. 🤔
Very nice job indeed 👍 you did well to patch it back up. I can just imagine how long it took to scrape it all back. The finish result is just brilliant
The Telephone EXchange Name system went away, starting in 1962. Christine's Curiosity Shop & Doll Museum is still in business, since 1959, in Tucson, AZ, although it is no longer on N. Stone.
Thanks for the info. It's crazy how pieces get around. I am in the Southeast US, nowhere near Tucson. I picked this out of a neighbor's trash so it would've ended up in a landfill if I hadn't happened to randomly drive by it.
Alphanumeric dialing was phased out in the 1960’s. It was known at the time as the 2L-5N numbering plan in the U.S. Growing up, my home phone started with TWinbrook 1, or 891.
I found an old dictionary stand at an estate sale and just couldn't walk away. I'm not the woodworker that you are, though. I was thinking about painting it but it seems a shame since there isn't damage or anything. You've made me think again.
Gosh! Beautifully executed as per your usual standard! It is wonderful to see such attention to detail with every little crack and chip. Then of course your superb choice of stain. What a beautiful piece! I adore watching your restorations.
Thank you very much! Did I stain this? I think it is natural with only an oil and wax finish. Thanks for watching my projects and supporting the channel! 🌷
Hello Stig! Thank you for watching all the way from Finland. I've only seen your country in photos but I think it is beautiful and my wife and I hope to see it one day.
I LOVE LOVE THIS RESTORATION … The video is great! The dogs are the cutest thing ever! I am glad that you add them in your videos! I am looking forward to more videos !!
Great job on this. It's amazing how much the linseed oil made that color pop! The insect attack happens nearly every time I ask my wife for help, too. Bees, flies, mosquitos, spiders, you name it.
Thanks! I am becoming a big fan of a simple oil and wax finish now. My volunteer did not last long after the insect "attack". I got a wasp sting a few days ago working on my car. We cannot escape nature!
Beautiful restoration! You show a lot of tricks that I wouldn't think of on my own. Also, thanks for posting your tool links - I just got one of those scrapers like what you have. It's just right for smoothing some cut edges of polycarbonate.
Thank you so much! I am happy to know that you picked up a few ideas from this. Also, thanks for getting the scraper from my link. It helps the channel a little!! Cheers ✌🏽
Love your style of fixing old & batter furniture. I have been looking for a channel like yours for a long time because I am curious about furniture repair!!! 😊
Thanks! I thought about a poly finish but after applying some oil to hydrate the wood, I just liked the way it looked and felt. The wax finish adds a nice top surface and with enough applications and polishing, I can get a beautiful satin finish. Thanks for asking!
I found that at an estate sale for $10!! This particular model is discontinued but I will add a link for something similar to the video description right now. I should have done that before!! Thanks for the feedback!
@@Restorology I looked online near me, wow those prices! I saw similar ones I'm looking at in retail stores but I'll be looking closer at thrift and garage sales tryst me. Thanks.
@@Garyhitch56 I looked online at these today and you are right, they are expensive as hell. I'm lucky that I found this one so cheap. It was covered in dirt and weeds but a bit of a power wash brought it back to life. Most of what I use is estate sale finds. Good luck finding something!!
