I loved the outfit you put together the most ❤️ plus the first custom suit you wore, I love how the best was cut just enough for the belt buckle to show.
Really enjoy all the outfits, but my favorite are the 3rd and the 4th one. That babydoll style dress😍 I was really touched by stories of these ladies with glasses, slippers and airplane olives. They do a great job!🤗 Thank you Taylor for telling us their stories and introducing their business❤️
Comfy and cute outfit = 6 Would love to wear outfit = 4 The history Geeky/nerd in me loves the locations = 1 & 3 The story with #6 got me to tears, she's so precious!
The glasses store lady is my idol now 😆 "I didn't tell my husband.. I was hiding them under the bed, on the roof... It's my money and I can buy what I want with it!" SHE IS A WHOLE MOOD ❤️ Awesome video as always, Taylor. Love from the USA!
Super glad to know that these shops got thru COVID (especially the heritage places)!! It’s so nice seeing ur friendship with the owners develop too ☺️☺️
strangely in the UK covid has made people buy local more as the shipping was terrible for a period! so alot of our local places have expanded and done well :) looks like it's the same for HK
I really love this series Tay, it's a great idea! At the same time every time the video finished, I feel so sad to all this old and traditional things will disappear one day because the new generation aren't interested. Here in Italy we have the same problem with some artisan work that require patience and hard work to learn.. people nowadays always run and lost interest in the small handmade and precious things :(
I agree. I'm from Mexico. I would like to shop that more but it is honestky super expensivr and wages are low. I believe that's more of a reason than the lack of interest. People who buy handmade are usually people with money
Hey! I just wanted to say that people of my generation (I’m 17) are still very much interested- we get drowned out by the trends sometimes but we’re still here! :)
I have been watching you for years, and to see how you have matured is just incredible! You are still totally Taylor, but the care you put into your videos has just gone through the roof! So glad you have not only taken us on a vintage fashion journey, but you have also gone to some amazing places and helped us learn about different areas of Hong Kong and their impact on the community!
The last story of the woman selling the airplane olives brought tears to my eyes 🥲 Thank you so much Taylor! You’ve shared so many people’s stories that I would never known about if it wasn’t for you. Like you said, change is inevitable but it makes my happy to see people like you embracing what little is still left 💕
Seeing all of these shops, crafts, and specialties pass away makes watching these videos bittersweet. I sometimes wish I could be all things and offer help to everyone, but these things have made it this far because the people behind them made them their one and only mission. At the same time, it feels kind of precious to know that you were alive during the short time in history that some of these businesses were around, doesn't it? Love that these videos are offering a little historic preservation in the great big sea of RU-vid.
wait this series is genius, LOVED THE STORIES, meeting the people especially older businesses and seeing the architecture. Mixed my passion for history, fashion and exploring. This is literally so immersive pls continue this ! ( should covid allow of course )
This is such great quality content!! You manage to perfectly combine your passion for fashion with your love for Hong Kong and its rich culture in one video. How is this free for us to watch?! :)
So excited for this 😊💕 This is literally the best idea for a day out ever ! Buy a beautiful Vintage Outfit and go enjoy your day somewhere nostalgic 😊 Would love to do this with friends!
Now I wish I could buy a surprise box with a mix of goods from these shops to support the businesses and have a little piece of HK! Everything you featured is wonderful!
That’s such a good idea. I wonder if I could make some limited edition boxes for my shop to sell online if the amazing stuff I find here 🤔 I’ll think about it and talk to people
BRILLIANT! I am sadly leaving HK after a decade here, I will visit King's Slippers to buy several pairs before I go. And one can never have to many sunglasses so Woo Ping is a must. I love Dot Vintage, I have the coolest shirt from there. Love your vids Taylor! I appreciate how you continue to highlight this magical unique city. (The red dress was AMAZING.)
Taylor treasures…could be the title of a series (Netflix worthy). These things, people, businesses and buildings are treasures of the past and should be cherished and preserved with humility. Thank you for this wonderful content keep it up! ❤️ love from Canada 😘
I feel like moving to Hong Kong and buying shares in these businesses that are at risk of closing forever because there is no one to continue on after 😫 if only I could afford to do that 🥺 Taylor, my goodness, you definitely need to add more green to your wardrobe 💚 The bright green and olive green dress both looked beautiful against your skin tone and with your hair this gorgeous dark blonde colour 😍
I absolutely loved how she incorporated the people and their stories, the last woman's story specially hit different. As a person who's obsessed with fashion, this was the first time that the outfits took a second seat (they were all lovely though💕)
The clothes you were wearing are beautiful. Love everything else you showed us from the all the shops to the local lovely people. Thanks for sharing 👍 🥰
I am glad that you are back in RU-vid, Miss Taylor. Firstly, cold bottled milk tea is refreshing without ice. Secondly, wearing vintage for a week is sounds challenging, but the outfits can provide a nostalgic and beautiful feeling to you. And I like these outfits, which allows me to learn what HK citizens wear in the past.
I'm in HK for a 2 year study abroad (i'm in quarantine rn) so I'm living vicariously through your videos! You were one of the main sources of excitement for me!
@@Hgvyygjhbhjguyh no! im in english programs in both unis, but if you can't speak chinese (in HK) or japanese (in japan), you need to take those language classes :)
You should totally sell those amazing embroidered slippers and the vintage glasses in your website I would totally buy some and I'm certain your audience would buy hem too, they are all so beautiful and unique to that part of the world! I fell in love with the ladies of the glasses, slippers and olives!!!!! They are so sweet and hard working their inner beauty and strength shines even through the screen of my computer! I'm so glad you allowed people to learn their stories and help preserve them!
It actually brings tears into my eyes to hear these people's stories, esp those where the long traditions might get lost in the future. I'm glad you're preserving some of it and showing it to people from all over the world! And I loved all the outfits, but esp the 60s dress with polkadot details and the 70s look you styled yourself! 💕
Wow. I expected to watch a fun, fashionable video and I ended up feeling so inspired by the way you highlighted all of these local shops. It made me feel a bit sad as well but also hopeful that people will see this and would want to continue or take part in the tradition.
I love that you showed such old businesses that are at risk of disappearing. It's nice to see someone preserving these crafts and places and I'm sure the owners appreciate it too
This video made me so happy ❤️ thank you for putting a spotlight on these people and places! As someone who has never been anywhere in Asia I really appreciate being transported somewhere totally unique and special oceans away from where I live
Taylor what you're doing is wonderful. We need to learn from the past, appreciate tradition, and keep these beautiful people in our memories. I love that you're bringing something onto social media that otherwise may remain unknown. More please!
Taylor, your outfits were so beautiful! My personal favourite was bright green dress. I loved that you showed those local businesses and introduced the people who run them! It’s lovely of you to give them the attention they deserve, in such a creative way! Your videos are always a treat! Much love from a fellow Canadian!
This was such a cool and unique video! Loved the premise and execution! I feel like I just had a little trip through the decades and to Hong Kong over my coffee here in Chicago. So fun! Thank you!
This video is so refreshing! I am a grandma now and those dresses throw me back to when i was a young girl ! I grew up poor and tried to make my own style using my Aunts' hand me down clothes. Lovely! lovely! lovely! Thank you for the creativeness and effort put in this fun and nostalgic video! Okay, last thing, I love the way you talk to the people. You are kind and respectful!
Oh my gosh! These outfits are amazing, I would love to shop and be styled by these incredible places!I love the red babydoll dress with the big bow! So cute! 😁💃
wow, this is amazing! I love these kind of "documentary" styles of your channel I haven´t been to Hong Kong in such a long time and this makes me wanna go back (and go back in time with these beautiful Vintage dresses), such a cool and fun idea to enjoy this vivid unique city!
Waited for this video before going to bed. Loved outfits 1 & 6 ❤️ Hope you continue to share more about the history and culture of HK. Definitely miss going there- taking notes from all of your videos for when I return once the pandemic ends. 🙏
This vid almost made me cry! 😭 So sad how the older generation’s products and shops will no longer be around in the future. 😭😭 I really liked the olive green dress ensemble! #5 I think? But the colorful floral dress was cute also!
I love the outfits and how Taylor conected them with nostalgic places from Hong Kong. I'm learning so much about chinese culture with this channel and it makes me appreciate it more
ahhh it makes me so sad that I didn't know about these stores when I visited HK a few years ago. I would've loved to buy one of the embroidered slippers! This was such a great video 🥺
You're so thoughtful Taylor in this time we're all grieving by the death of HONGKONG you're here to show us around the hidden beauty we could see from the past , we're all still loving this city but sadly it won't be the same again .
Taylor, I’ve been really really enjoying to it content about HK lately. As someone who grew up there but has now moved away - this is making me extremely home sick! You paint HK in such a beautiful light and also introduces to so many wonderful places. Thanks for bringing these dying arts to our attention. Keep it up xx
The red baby-doll dress looks like it was made with you in mind! It looks gorgeous on you!!! And thank you for teaching us so much about Hong Kong, it's absolutely fascinating!
every time i watch one of your videos it feels as if you’re taking me on a journey, you go so in depth with the topics and research, and the quality is outstanding. i loved the 4th outfit on you!
What a wonderful video! I loved all the outfits, but I definitely enjoyed your talks with the owners of these Hong Kong local businesses a lot more!! It felt so special to hear their beautiful stories, each one so unique, as unique as their business. I truly hope more people in the area can frequent these and many more local shops :) I wish I could go buy a pair of the sandals though, they are gorgerous
Love both the concept of dressing vintage and visting old places! These days we are obsessed with the new and we should still learn to appreciate traditions and the old
Love this 💗 obsessed with that baby doll dress look (or any of them honestly). I feel like I just travelled to Hong Kong 🥲💗 (also realized I now need a colourful sock collection…)
oh yeah!! she's back!! btw love watching your videos, it's so much fun to watch!! hope you're doing well and hope you have a great day!! much love and support! ❤❤
Toooooo long since we saw you, I missed you and yours videos and was checking all the time to see if I missed it!!!😄 The idea for this video is so cool! I love to hear the story behind those der crafts, fashikns, stores, etc Your way of telling those stories was heart touching. My favorite look was days, day 3 and 5. Thank you so much Taylor for all the work put in this video....please dont be absent for another month 🥰💚💚💚
I really loved this video, I don't actually know much about Hong Kong and this video was really interesting! My favorite was the glasses shop and the lady's story haha
Love love love these styles of videos you do Taylor!! They give me Anthony Bourdain travel show vibes & such a joy to watch. What a great way to showcase vintage fashion available in Hong Kong - that red dress was so amazing, the colours that were chosen for for you were superb :)
This video was amazing to discover the rich history of Hong Kong it is such an amazing city and all your looks were so elegant!! Good job Taylor, cannot wait to see more content ☺️☺️
Loving all the new series!! Every single outfit was FANTASTIC too, wish I could wear them all. I love that you’re getting deep down into the culture and showing us things we might not normally see- giving me Anthony Bourdain vibes 😆♥️ keep it up!
I didn’t really think I’d be interested in vintage shopping, but this video was amazing to watch. I would have never known the stories and felt so transported. Fantastic!
Thank you for showing me the side of Hong Kong that my dad remembers growing up! We live in Canada and don't often visit and when we do--- the trips are short and typically spent with relatives. Your videos give me the great visuals to the memories he tells me about.
I love that you are capturing the historical side of HK!! What a wonderful way to showcase a snippet of their rich history with a fashion twist. It was such a joy to watch
This is one of my favourite videos from you! I love it it's fun and lovely. It has people and makes me feel so uplifted. That's what I love about travelling and you have brought back that feeling. Also those outfits fit you perfectly and they look so amazing. I couldn't choose loved them all.
I think my fav outfit was n°5 (I love the deep green colour too!), I love the shape and it suits you very well in both colour and shape. Every time I see this series, I love them deeply, they always make me cry because there's so much emotion in all this people that has worked so hard for so long and also you are so sweet and nice with them, such a gentle soul❤️... the lady of the olives made me so sad when she talked about her husband... and such a beautiful and fun hobby/work they made together, oh... breaks my heart💔 Thanks for such a great content, I wish to visit HK only to go to all this places you show us.
Maybe one of my fave videos! I love the beautiful vintage and how you paired the outfits with such interesting nostalgic locations. Lovely to explore the past and meet these local characters.
Thank you for the video.I could revisit some familiar places on HK🇭🇰My husband is from HK so we used to visit it every year ♥️Hopefully we will come to HK next year 🤗
I really really enjoyed this episode! The passionate store owners are inspiring. You are the best fashion content creator ✨❤️Looking forward for more. I have a channel here too and I want to emulate the same here in Australia but don’t know how 😅
Outfits 1&5 were definitely my favourites but they’re all beautiful. Loved this video so much and thanks for showing us around to these hidden gems in HK!
Taylor, I think this is my favourite video you have made. I love the fashion, the people and the locations. Such a great concept. More more more please! How about vintage fashion from different countries, or decades?
This was one of my favorite ever videos that you've done!! It's so so cool to see nostalgic parts of HK and the outfits the stylists selected for you are all unique and lovely. Thank you so much for sharing! My favorite was the one in the really old cafe :)
This was so incredible! I'd love to see a spotlight on the music/ theatre side if possible? I'm so enamoured with the clothing, locations, and people that you've shared with us
Love all of the outfits and places you visited, it brought back memories of my latest trip to HK before Covid. A great entertaining and interesting video and you're a fantastic presenter.
