Do these frame molds have some kind of back so you can place a photo inside? Some of your pictures show the frame completely open with no backing to aperture and others have some kind of back to them. Or Is this just a very thin layer of excess clay that you break so as to make it it completely open? I wanted to know before purchasing as I want to use plaster but preferably wanted a back to the frames.

Hi Davey, yes the mould will give a back to the frame by default. It is not intended to be broken off but some of our samples in clay or sugar paste have had this section cut out to make it open for aesthetic purposes. Let us know how you get on with your project if you go ahead with your purchase.

@@KatySueDesigns many thanks for your answer. I did send a message direct on your website asking the same question so please ignore that now. Just one more thing before I buy... Do these molds allow a cast to come out perfectly straight if using say plaster ie so there is no warping. I don't want the frame to come out looking nice on some sides and not others. Just want to make sure the mold is completely straight on all edges. Thanks again for your help.

If you are using a medium that dries before releasing then you shouldn't have any problems getting straight edges. We use clay or paste which is still wet when released so some care is needed to straighten before allowing to dry.
