They used to put so much effort into physical media. This is taking me back to being a teen in the mid 2000’s collecting horror sets. Wish I held onto more of this stuff ;-;

I love the nightmare on elm street snapper set which replaced the glow in the dark slipcase version in my collection (found it for $30, same as you did!). I only have the anchor bay tin for Evil Dead 2 but more will come. I did have the Jason Slasher Collection but as a 11 year old kid, you tend not to care about keeping it clean so it got mangled through the years but hopefully I’ll find a replacement

That Scream box set to this day is one of my favorites. I remember saving up my allowance to buy that box set & The Crow box set from Sam Goody when I was a kid! Lol.

DVD box sets, even though outdated now, seem to have better and more frequent releases than what we currently have for blu ray/4K. I still remember going to my aunts house and, in the living room, they had a small shelving unit with a bunch of dvds. There was a box set where the spines of the cases displayed an image of Freddy Krueger with his back to the viewer. His glove extended with this brownish boiler room hue over the whole image. Little me was always intrigued and was always trying to figure out who and what it was. It wasn’t until I was older that I recognized it as Freddy Krueger in memory. Looked it up and a few people were selling it on eBay for 40-65 dollars. Crazy how much media box sets and physical media collectors items are forgotten or are just kinda gone.

I love that Friday the 13th DVD collection from 2004. I actually bought it when it came out... I saw the trailer on TV one night on Scream (Canadian horror channel that no longer exists) They announced it's release and I was 12 years old and bought it at Walmart with birthday money lool

I bought that Halloween three movie set back in the late 2000's at Wal-Mart when I was in college. Still have it to this day. Box is not in the best of shape.

I got one of those tin sets for the beyond. I think I paid $16 for it at a used store. I wanted that Friday set that came with the mask so bad but my mom HATED slasher films and no amount of begging could get me to change her mind.

I own the Friday the 13th Crystal lake to Manhattan and also the Universal Classic Monster DVD GIFT Set (with the three busts). I have owned both of those since the Friday before official release date, because I used to work at a local record and DVD store.

I had a similar experience with F13, I’d dig through the five dollar bins at Walmart as they had all of the F13 flicks in their in their individual cases. Good times, core memory unlocked

I have that 30th anniversary of Halloween. Love it. I also have the limited edition of Halloween that has both the original & TV cut that comes with a post card. Case is thick & the front shows the original pumpkin with hand holding the knife & if you move it just slightly it shows of the mask

I think you're right and look at the staying power of DVD it actually outsells 4K I think DVD even sells more than Blu-Ray so you have a collectors market is definitely there

I own both the Nightmare on Elm St. DVD set and the Friday the 13th. The Nightmare one I bought at a Walmart on PA when I went to study at a college there from Puerto Rico. As for the Friday the 13th one I think I bought from one of those DVD mail clubs.

Greetings from Down Under. Our release of From Crystal Lake to Manhattan ditched the bonus disc 😢 its 8 disc set but no bonus. They then released special editions of first 5 FT13 I think which had those extras spread across them. So annoying when that happens. The little boy standing on the pier in the eye of the Jason Mask is a nice touch.

Just bought that nightmare on elm box set off a friend for $10...yes Ten dollars. 🙌He obviously isn't a collector but definitely put me in for the win... They really need to come out with a 4K set. It's been way too long.

I got that Nightmare On Elm Street boxset since the release! I love it! So much fun! Have you played the super cool trivia game on the last disc? Incredibly well made set! I also own the Hellraiser Tin and have Repo-Man ( comes with a soundtrack CD), Evil Dead 2, Let Sleeping Corpses Lie (Includes a toe tag) aswell. Anchor Bay did lots of high quality stuff! I also got The Blind Dead movies in the famous Coffin boxset. Said to be expensive now. I got Anchor Bays release of Phantasm 1 - 4 coming inside a big replica of the sphere. Evil Dead 2 the Book Of The Dead release. Almost forgot the Tin of Lucio Fulcis The Beyond. I got more… 😊😎

Bought that Halloween collection like new on amazon years ago (25ish). I bought the scream factory collection years ago and was only going to upgrade the original on 4k but was suckered in by those great hardboxes and visual upgrades oops😅

The Halloween 4 one why don't you just look at a dollar store or Walmart and find like a cheap CD you don't care about and just repurpose the case for that CD for the Halloween for so the DVD will be more safely protected

Even as a collector I'm not always in favor of having the individual DVDs or whatever like I have the complete Gundam Wing box that I got for my 17th birthday back in 2003 I don't want to get rid of that I don't care how much money is dropped it means too much to me Every other Gundam series I have gotten since then has been Blu-ray and it's been all in one or two cases which where individual cases is nice but it does Save-A-Lot in storage and I do want to get the complete Gundam Wing Blu-Ray so I can just retire the DVDs

Funny story man, before this was posted I was looking at that new line Nightmare on elm street box set and broke down and bought it this morning on eBay. So glad I did man, it's a sick set. Hopefully we get a remaster in the future but this set is wicked cool. Good video brother as always. 😎🤟💪
