Shot in 4K , for the love of all things vintage and Team Losi. Footage shot at the Keilor Vintage Bash in 2022 with all the fave's being put through their paces in what has become one of Australia's most fun vintage events.
I never moved past this era. I used to read Radio Control Car Action, and small handful of other mags from 80s into the early 90s. It always seemed like furious levels of competition and development was happening. And all the upgrades and motors you could get. Eternally grateful Kyosho re-released the Ultima, and I found an second hand Pro XL this year. I love Kyosho and the other brands from that time. Thank you for sharing all of this.
Glad to hear your thoughts on the old era. It sure was an interesting time with manufacturers doing all kinds of great things to keep ahead of the competition
When I started racing in '86 a local driver worked/raced for Losi (Jack Johnson) so I got to see the JRX2 evolve until it came out in '88. I'm an OG Losi fan so I love seeing vids like this. The JRX2 running it's original 5-link rear suspension makes my day, they can be a handful on modern high-bite clay tracks but are still a blast to drive. Cheers!
Thank you James. Jack was a legend and still is. I was racing in the 80's pre JRX2 but I remember the first JRX2 to come along to our club meetings. The car was like nothing else and for its time was better than anything else. Right out of the box the car was trick. On our slippery dirt track it was winning from the get go. Losi cars were and still are A1.
Thanks Toys. These cars were impressive to watch as they were wheeled mostly by competent drivers. Somehow I managed this footage between my own races.
Another great video Jason, loved watching those classic Losi’s going racing again and seeing all the variants of the buggy’s as well. I think my new years resolution should be to get my XX filmed running ;) keep up the awesome work fella :)
I have had this Losi footage in my editing suite for almost a month now, so very long over due. Another day of grinding away to share some vintage racing goodness with friends here and afar. Sounds crazy I know but over here we long for a white xmas.
Awesome footage, it sure is wonderful to see the cars in slo mo and be able to really appreciate how amazing our hobby really is, Cheers from an Aussie in China!,
Geezus - ol mate jumping the triples with his XX was lucky not to break front arms on a few occasions hahaa.. Love my XXCR -KW. Probably be one of the cars id bring over with RC10 Graphite when the next vintage big bash is on! Unreal video captures again!!
Thank you Stu. Yeah Im loving all the cars and the level of driving at the vintage events now days. People are really getting into it in a bigger way than ever before.
You're not wrong Homeboy. These vintage meetings really are an opportunity to step back into the past with rc models that we connect with. Team Losi cars were always at the front of the grid
Awesome vid once again. Losi is one of those brands I just don't have in my collection. I have looked from time to time for a XX buggy, but never managed to find one. They do look pretty good.
@@Bormac073 yeah I think I was told once that Associated pinched the idea of the plastic tub chassis and overall buggy layout from Losi. Post RC10, the B3’s and 4’s.
great vid, love all the slow motion camera work as i love watching the shocks move and steering inputs under load as we can never really see that at speed or from drivers stand , very cool with the guys flying over tha big tripple !!!! well done
That track looks awesome, I wish we could get a surface like that somewhere near me. Perfect lay out and jumps for vintage stuff. How do they prep the surface and what type of material is it? Loving the footage, thanks.
@@Bormac073 I know they did that but they really need to bring the 10th scale back out people may have broken versions of those intense scale and maybe they would like to be able to get new parts so they can get their old one working again but they're talking oh we don't want to ruin the amount of money that they're worth well you got plenty out there that aren't even working so bring back the car so people can buy the parts they need to fix them again.
@@bradkalman2353 parts are out there on eBay and web forums amongst collectors. They exist, trust me, I know. Otherwise get in touch with Losi and share your thoughts. Its widely known Gil Losi didn't want to effect the collectors and values of their stuff, so they opted to rerelease in a smaller scale of vehicle.
@@Bormac073 well that was misplaced that thought because there's got to be plenty of parts out there that are no longer available that no one can get anymore and they pay an arm and a leg for them not that it would be cheap to replace with new parts but it be cheaper than getting original parts from other people so as I think this is misplaced thought and a lot of people complained that they should have came out with the 10 scale and forgo the 16th scale.
Thank you Swampers. Its a clay base topped with oil. Not my local track, I drove 1000km each way to make the event and the track was entirely different from the Casso facility I usually drive at. Was a total blast!
