Visiting Highclere Castle the REAL Downton Abbey

In this week's Cache Walk we visit Highclere Castle where they filmed the television series Downton Abbey. We are travelling in a MGC a classic British sports car. Come as we go geocaching then visit this famous country house.

Glad you liked the MG and the house. The rain was quite a problem. We were not sure they would let us in as we were dripping wet then we realised a lot of other people were just as wet as we were 🙂

Yes we sure got wet. It was a great car to drive. The MGC got poor reviews when it first came out but really I thought it was wonderful. It had been modified a little which may have overcome some of it's initial problems.

Hope the path down Beacon Hill wasn't too slippery in the rain. Gorgeous views! How were you able to drive that fabulous MGC? Thanks for bringing us along to Downton Abbey. Just watched the last movie.

Yes it was very slippery we lost our footing a couple of times on the way down. Had to put the camera away so no footage of the slips 🙂 There was a classic car hire place in a town not too far from where we were staying. Kept it overnight and delivered it back the next morning.

Nice car I don't think I could drive a right hand drive standard vehicle I like the Canadian connection

We were lucky with this one as we are used to right hand drive. In left hand countries we try to get an auto 🙂 Thought you might like the Canadian connection 🙂
