Prayers going up for all the Bowling family I read Alonzo just passed I’m so so sorry 🙌 especially for Polly Josh and Cliness May God protect each one of you all this family is just wonderful always in my heart and prayers always 🙏❤️🙏😍
I had relatives, in Kentucky, who lived in homes just like this. They grew a garden, canned their goods, and would share them with us when we visited. Canned green beans, jelly and jams, tomatoes, so very tasty. We weren't familiar with HOW these canned delicacies were actually made, we just knew what the canned green giant veggies and smuckers were. This was WORK. Anyone who says these people are lazy needs to: Find a piece of land to farm. Cultivate the soil, and prep for planting. Plant the basics, ones you can can. Till, and weed, and apply bug repellent, DAILY. Pray for rain, or hope where your garden is located it will catch the rain in the lowspots. Keeping animals at bay, or plant marigolds to repel animals. Do this in the hot summer, no ac. Encourage your kids and grandkids to participate, teaching them how to feed themselves. Harvest your crops, then get your jars ready, boiling them to be as clean as they can to prevent germs, molds, etc. Make sure you have canning labels to date and mark, etc. Storing space and temp right for types you canned. Over plant and over can, in case someone didn't or couldn't, share. Open one at a time to prevent waste. Eat only what you need. So, I think I have described the following traits one must know. Meteorologist Engineer Botany Biology Chemist Cooking expert Teacher Exercise instructor These people are not stupid nor lazy. They are some of our country's hardest workers, supporting family, with love. Life lessons. Love for family. Respect in one's self. Those who talk down about these people need to get in the garden and do what they do, from planting the first seed to labeling the last jar.

I just watched American Hollow tonight for the first time ever and I love watching it . It's alot of sadness but they all found away to be happy and love each other . Now that's a strong and loveing family . I really admire them . I think that I would rather go visit there family then some rich family . True . I am not saying that rich people are bad , it's just people who don't have much seem to have a better understanding about life , suffering , love and kindness . I love them . Miss . Linda ♥️🙏♥️🙏♥️🙏♥️🙏♥️🙏♥️💎
@@tonydel9854my name’s jordan holland, iree was my great grandmother. most of us go by holland now instead of bowling, a lot of the family moved to Manchester Ky after a flood wiped out the entire holler.
Awww Polly... I really enjoyed watching her on American Hollow, other than Mrs. Iree (2010 RIP) she was my favorite. I forgot how long ago the documentary was recorded...20 years ago! I remember watching this as a pre-teen, thinking they were the coolest family ever. I hope Clint finally found love, I hope everyone is in good health...I cannot find anything else on this family besides this update. If anyone knows anything...let me know....we need a 20 year bowling family documentary!!! xoxo
I live in Jersey. We have much nicer concrete, pollution, ghettos and chemical plants than all of you in Kentucky! I guess that means that YOU WIN! 😀🇺🇸
Im with you on the prayers. There going up the the blessings are coming down on Polley .I love this good family .good people. Please give us more of everybodys How is Your mom and pop ? Hard working people.im praying for you all.
They deserved life-changing payment for being a part of this documentary. Doesn't seem very fair. I loved this family. Especially Polly. And I'm happy to see them again after all these years.
Thank you for posting this update, I've watched American Hollow over and over several times and often wonder how everyone is doing, I saw on face book where Polly was fighting cancer, good to see her doing well, Blessings to her and I hope and pray she continues to do well and lots of prayers for her too!
The best moment was when the one brother put up his own land to get his brother out of jail. That is true love and not something we often see. Wish I had a family like this one.
Thank you for the update. I've watched American Hollow several times and have enjoyed it very much. I was born not far from your area. Wonderful people. You have a good, loving family and I wish all of you the very best. I hope you'll continue to post video updates of everyone. God bless you all.
I would much rather sit and have coffee with this family any day than spend a minute with some Uppity rich snob any day! That’s why I’m watching this video to remind myself how good descent folk used to be instead of what this world has become now, race wars, political wars, everybody fighting about every damn thing!
Apparently, those automobile accidents have really taken their toll on Lanzo Bowling. His health seems to be declining fast. Let's wish the best for Lanzo & Polly Bowling. (1:20)
@@alexribeno1612 Lanzo's health problems stem from head concussions he suffered in two automobile accidents. He was even taking Prozac for depression that resulted from it.
I loved these people they reminded me of my family very close I hope people will keep updates on this wonderful family like to know how the others are doing as well.thanks for the journey...
I love these videos. They remind me of my summers as a kid. I grew up in Lexington but visited by Dad and Mom's people up in the hills every summer. I'd spend the whole summer going between Wolfe county with my mom's people to my dad's people in Breathitt and Hazard. I love the hear the vernacular and sounds of the hills. I miss visiting the mountains. I live in Alabama now and it's as flat as a pancake!
I love this family reminds me of my family so much of course we are from Arkansas..my mom and grandmal is gone now..I feel so close to you all even though we've never meet.my mother passed last year with brain cancer praying for you Polly.god bless you all
Thank you so much for the update. I watch American Hollow over and over several time's. Always wondered how the family was doing! Please continue to keep us updated.
I love my people of the Appalachia. Backbone and Guts of America. There isn't any other country going to invade this country especially from the Atlantic ocean. They would never make it pass the mountains. America's finest.
Hey, thank you for sharing your story, thanks for your videos. I love your family. Loss for words but, just wish you all the very best. Cheers from Australia ✨🇦🇺
The mean comments about this family being unable to escape poverty just highlight the very ignorance at the heart of why we are divided. America isnt divided because of race or gender or anything other than scarcity. We all struggle to make ends meet and some people choose to put others down to feel better but you should learn that the top 13% of America control 84% of the wealth, that means that 87% of America is fighting one another for 16% of the wealth america has to offer and the only people who are not struggling or bitter are the top 13% I'm just saying most all of us are struggling so instead of bashing people unable to come up from the systemic generational handing down of poverty, let's all try to uplift and understand that we are all in this together as americans who struggle.
But for the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ me and my family are doing O.K. I think its dead wrong for people to make fun of, or think they are better than other people. Life can switch reels on a dime. We should be grateful for everything.
Uh, no. The only successful revolutions are individual. Encouraging people to feel victimized is doing them more harm than good. Besides, pitying someone is even more condescending than insulting them.
I totally agree with you on this. Some people just want to make themselves “better” than others, whatever that means. Dont mean to make it political, but I think its all the left wing’s fault ultimately.
Thank you Jeremy!!! so happy I found the channels and Facebook pages. I remember watching as a teen wondering what ever happened to everyone. Thanks so much. Hope all is well and look forward to more pics and videos. Thanks so much.
I enjoyed the documentary and came here to see an update. I was sad to see that Polly was sick. I hope everything turned out okay with her health. I hope someday we can get an update on this family. I liked them.
I watched your Family’s documentary today and didn’t know it was over 20 years ago. I hope and pray that you are all in good health and happy 🤞🏼🤞🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 It would be amazing to see how you are all doing in 2022 Sending Love from the UK 🇬🇧
hi i wish there was more on the American Hollow. we look at this family and love the show. you should brang it back. let us all no what is going on. post more please.
I've watched the American Hollow doc. So many times, just watched it again last night and again today, I've always wondered how they are doing now and wondered if there was any updates on them, I get a nostalgia feeling watching this, reminds me of home and my family, and always wanted to buy a quilt that Iree made! She's such a sweet soul!
This made me realize how life is precious. Would love to see follow ups with Sanantha, definitely Neil and Wanda!!! He was so true. She was so real. Both are Icons!!!
You Guys are awesome.Thank you for sharing your lives with us..I'm a Kentucky Boy myself and yes i can relate to country living "best".Homesick is the better word..Take Care get well and keep the videos going..
Thank you for sharing this. I've watched American Hollow several times. My wife, spoke with your grandmother years ago about one of her quilts. Hopefully you will post more. It was like catching up with old friends. My grandmother's maiden name was Bowling and your grandfather, Bascum, could have passed for one of her brothers. Thanks again.
Would love to see more updates of the family on youtube......I fell in love with their way of living.Simple.....I don't like living in the city anymore it's so stressful. :oP
Jeremy, so many of us have fallen in love with you & your family for many different reasons. In my case, the American Hollow story reminded me of my own raising in the mtns of NC. However, we were not in any way as isolated as your family. Speaking for many fans, we'd like to hear how Polly is recovering, how the next generation is holding the family together. I cannot imagine the effect of losing Mrs.Iree in 2010. She seemed to keep everyone together. How is your Dad, Neil & Mother, Wanda? Please give thought to making a video to update us on everyone, who has passed and how all of the family is doing. Thank you. ❤
I know this way of life..,, Doing the best they know how. Ain't a damn thing wrong with it. I see far worse in the big city daily. Love y'all take care.
One Buk3 yes poor dog. It’s abusive to tie up an animal, restrict its life to a few feet. How would you like living in a 5 foot area most of your life? The dog has no freedom, it’s abusive..
It’s abusive, more places should have laws about that (and so many don’t). No idea why so many people think they have a right to do as they please with an animal as if they own the planet 🤬
AlohaLivin my dog only moves 3.5’ away from me anytime we are outside on a leash. But I agree. I actually went to someone’s home recently and the dog was tied up INSIDE the house. They said it was bc they order food a lot. I’m like ??????? So just put the dog in a crate a couple mins before you get your delivery it’s not hard
Love to see that this family is still going strong from the first documentary. This is what life is all about family and sticking together no matter what. All the money in the world can't buy this I wish your family nothing but the best.I come from a big family and polly is a strong woman like my mom.A beautiful strong nit family may God bless you all always.Hope to see more from you guys soon.💛💛💛
So this is Jeremy making more videos. Little kid taking a bath in the little tub on the bathroom? Cute little ginger kid. God bless you and your family son.
i really enjoyed viewing ,,,,im from manchester..lots of relatives,,,,, my dads mom,,, had 11 kids//i loved my summers there and grannys both had big gardens yum yum,,, they too always raised more for other as well.... and people were sooo loving ,,no one was A STRANGER,, WE MOVED WITH MY MOM TO DETROIT WHEN I WAS 8 AND I ALWAYS WENT HOME MANY TIMES TO SEE MY DAD AND THE REST.most of my relatives did very well and some not so well .but we were very smart and loved to joke and laugh a lot... thanks for taking me back , were all doing well all 174 of us lol im 63 yrs now but i still cherious my childhood days in ky........
I'd love to have another update on the bowlings this was handsdown one of my favorite films they are wonderful people I think family's can learn a few things from them no matter what they got each other's back rich or poor or petty arguments in the end families all you got i thank the bowlings for letting us have a view into there lives
I really want to see a follow up to see how the family is doing now...I loved it .. brought back memories of my own family and the way things used to be
Please consider doing an update on this entire family. Possibly a fundraiser to help with the little ones getting a better education and freaking running water in all of the homes!
Reminds me of growing up in Tellico with my uncle a rew years and our home now and the family here just good Ole country folk trying to get by I wouldn't trade it for the world its a goid living rough at times but good hearted people with good intentions
I love this family The Bowlings . They are so down to earth and very humbled people . I would love to know how they are doing . They are a very strong family with so much love for each other . I ain't never been to Kentucky but I would love to go spend some time with them . I grow up on a small farm . I have a big family we didn't have much but we had alot of love for each other . Ain't nobody perfect and ain't nobody got the perfect family . They live on some beautiful land . Some people talk about Living Off The Grid . This family been living off the grid before liveing off the grid became famous . They are very smart people . I sure would like to know what happened to Clint , I hope that he and the rest of his family are happy , blessed and safe . They need to do another update because they have me and so many people who love and care about them so much . They remind me of my family . They remind me of that old TV show The Walton's . The Walton's was one of the best tv shows ever . I love before they went to bed every night they would tell each other Good Night . Good Night John Boy 😀 The Bowlings could make them a RU-vid channel and teach people how to grow a garden , how to survive in the woods , how to cook , and make those beautiful quilts that they sew . I want one of those beautiful quilts . I would watch there Bowlings Family show . They are just so humbled and so down to earth . I wish them the best . One thing that I have learned about life is no matter our skin color , rich or poor we all have more in common with each other . then we know . It's about love and respect for all people . God said That he created us all in his image . No human being is better then the other . We are all equal in God's eyes . Just imagine a parent has kids but that parent had to pick there favorite child ? Mostly likey it would be so hard for that parent to pick there favorite child . Anyway back to The Bowlings , they are an amazing beautiful family . I love them . Miss . Linda ♥️🙏♥️🙏♥️🙏♥️🙏♥️🙏♥️🙏♥️💎😀
It’s kinda sad to see them sitting around chugging beers during the day, they didn’t do that back in 99 in the documentary, can’t imagine Iree would appreciate sitting about drinking all day.. Even at the big party they had in the documentary on Labor Day, they were all chugging Pepsi.. I mean I’ve been there myself, there was a stage in my life when I would sit and drink during the day so I’m not knocking them for it but it just seems sad after watching the documentary.. Hope they’re all doing fine. I loved Wanda and Polly. 🙂
Oh I just love seeing this! How is Clint? Polly & Lonzo’s son? Did he ever end up gettin out of the holler? Plz keep us posted!! I’d watch this religiously if it were a weekly post 😉👍🏼
LOVE this family even tho I don't know them. Sure they have their issues, but who doesn't... Welfare yes, but hey they are a product of their environment..Still good at heart..I lived in a condemned building when I was VERY young in Indiana. There was a family just like this one who had like 14 children. They lived in a condemned house as well with very little but they ALWAYS fed me and my siblings even tho they didn't have much..HEARTS OF GOLD! Hi Erica, I hope your doing well young one!
