I like tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate or ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate in the morning because my skin doesn't tolerate anything low-pH after shaving, including ascorbic acid. Another thing I like about those derivatives, specifically, is that since they're lipophilic, they tend to be in more emollient bases: I'm dry-sensitive and they can almost act like quasi-moisturizers and leave my skin feeling less dry after applying them 😁

@@walkingbyfaith2885 both work equally well on my skin. There's some debate over whether or not they're actually the same molecule. LabMuffin has a good writeup about this on her blog.
This was super helpful and concise. L Ascorbic in higher concentrations tend to be more irritating in my experience. I go back and forth on which I prefer.
