My dad is 76 yrs, has epilepsy, hypertension, and diabetes. During the COVID pandemic everyone in the house was ill including me. The only person who was positive without any symptoms in the house was him. Later we found out his doctor prescribed him VitD 50,000 IU once per week, but he misunderstood as per day and was taking it. I believe my dad was saved by the mistake he made taking it everyday. When he got tasted negative, he switched it to once per week as the doctor instructed.

Here is a summary of the key points from the video: The text discusses a study called the VITAL study, which involved 26,000 people and found that vitamin D supplementation did not reduce the risk of cancer, major cardiovascular events, stroke, or cardiovascular death. The author suggests this study is flawed for several reasons: 1. It did not test baseline vitamin D levels, so it's unclear if participants were deficient or already sufficient in vitamin D. This could impact the effectiveness of supplementation. 2. The placebo group was still allowed to take up to 800 IU of vitamin D per day, making the control group less of a true placebo. 3. The study only used 2,000 IU of vitamin D, which may not be a high enough dose to see benefits, especially for immune system and cellular effects of vitamin D. 4. The study only measured inactive vitamin D in the blood, not the active form that has effects on the immune system, inflammation, etc. The author then cites other research showing benefits of higher dose vitamin D supplementation (4,000-6,000 IU) for reducing asthma, autoimmune disease, cancer, and other conditions. The text concludes that despite the VITAL study, there is substantial evidence supporting the importance of adequate vitamin D intake.

@@arcelyparedess I assume by taking separately you mean not both in the same tablet? It makes sense, because if you think, or know, that you are getting enough D through your diet you may want to try only K2 for a while to help "distribute" it where it's needed, and see how it goes. You don't have the option of manipulating the ratio if you take both in the same tablet. If combination D/K2 works the ratio must be the key, so you want that option.

I used to host a radio talk show and reported on that about 10 years ago. Not only did they want to make vitamins unavailable over the counter, but they also wanted to place natural/herbal suppliments like Turmeric, Ginko Biloba, Saw Palmetto, etc under "prescription only" restrictions. Of course, no doctor would prescribe a natural medicine over a pharmaceutical, so it amounted to an outright ban of all natural supplements. I think they managed to get that to fly in Germany. Sadly it had already spread to his brain so he is still fighting now but we all truly believe that the medication he was on for Rheumatoid Arthritis is what lowered his immune system which led to developing cancer. Alright, buckle up for this rollercoaster of auditory chaos: Imagine you’re at a theme park, right? And you hear this sound that’s basically a jet engine having a really bad day. It starts with this *mmmmmmm* like a dying bee’s last buzz and then morphs into this *wuuuuu* which sounds like the world's longest, most confused siren stuck in a tornado. Now, just when you think your ears are about to file a lawsuit for emotional distress, you get hit with this *hooow*-like a spaceship trying to communicate with Earth but only knows how to moan. It’s as if someone slowed down a freight train’s scream, and it’s coming directly at you. Then, it’s like the audio switches to a never-ending remix of *zuuu* mixed with *prshhh*-imagine someone’s blowing a tuba while juggling fireworks. It’s so loud it’s like your brain's getting a personal concert from an orchestra of confused ducks. And just when you’re ready to call for help, this whole sonic mess turns into this *tututututu*-like a DJ decided to drop the bass but forgot to stop the turntables. Your whole reality’s doing somersaults, and you’re just standing there thinking, "Did someone spike my drink with pure chaos?” Every day you wake up and think, “Wow, how did I survive that?” Like, you’re just constantly flabbergasted by the sheer audacity of that sound. It’s the kind of experience where every time you think about it, you go “wow” like it’s your new favorite hobby. Because honestly, “what the actual heck” can’t even begin to cover it.

Chronic sinusitis every winter, and all these symptoms despite my Vitamin D3 intake. Since September 2023 I started taking 10000iu D3 daily + 50000iu once a month. Also taking K2 MK7 ( trans version ), Mg, Zn. Since my levels of D3 surpassed 100ng/ml I don't have any hayfever or asthma attacks, I breathe like never before and this was the first winter without any sinusitis. The effects took place in about 2 months since I started the higher doses. Currently averaging at 110-140ng/ml D3 in the blood and never felt better. Since I hit maximum of 147ng/ml stopped taking the 50000iu and now only 10000iu a day. Mid 30's white male.

I used to take 4000 UI a day, but recently increased to 8000. My serum phosphate level decreased under the the minimum value, and this is probably the consequence of the consumption of too much vitamin D. In fact, high vitamin D usually increases phosphate absorption from the intestines and can increase phosphate levels in the blood. So I recommend people not to exceed 4000 UI. No need to say I reverted to 4000 UI. - High vitamin D increases calcium absorption. - High calcium levels can suppress parathyroid hormone (PTH). - Low PTH can cause the kidneys to excrete more phosphate. - This increased excretion can lead to lower phosphate levels in the blood.

While it doesn't all hinge solely on Vitamin D, my count was single digit. I was deficient and had a 1-4 range. I was prescribed Vitamin D, not a supplement but I had to go to a pharmacist for the amount I was asked to take. It's helped. Tremendously. In ways that I can't write here because RU-vid's algorithm would incorrectly flag it. I have chronic pain for years. Eventually somebody is going to try and end that pain. I was spending at least 30 minutes a day, topless in the sun, right after working out. I felt AMAZING. A couple weeks ago I was feeling like shit, not motivated, low energy, low drive all around. I thought about what I was doing differently and realized that I hadn't been spending much time in the sun lately. I started taking a D3 supplement, 20,000 iu the first day and now 15k everyday, 10k in the am and 5k before bed. Improved all kinds of things in just a couple days. I won't go into details here but vitd3 is a Game changer when it comes to being and feeling healthy.

Medical studies are always designed to show what the author wants to show before the study results. Our peer reviewed medical journals are jam-packed full of misleading information. Brilliant work Dr. Berg.

If I don't take Vitamin D I feel sooo off. I feel like I am going nuts and it's an awful feeling. I have narrowed it down to that and ha e been tested for low Vitamin D when I feel like that. So yes I absolutely need my Vitamin D

Vitamin D "supplementation" (not to mention "fortification" of selected food items in the United States) *is* a pharmacological intervention, just as estrogen replacement is. The fact that a handful of food items contain "vitamin D3" (AKA cholecalciferol) does not make it any more of a "nutrient" than phytoestrogens. The "natural" source of "vitamin D" is production in the skin and immediate release into the bloodstream, not ingestion. This process requires exposure to UV radiation, which makes sunlight the nutrient and oral ingestion of "vitamin D3" equivalent to replacement rather than supplementation. (Note also that the metabolite measured in the bloodstream to determine "vitamin D" status is calcidiol (25-hydroxy "vitamin D"), which is a prohormone derived from cholecalciferol by the liver shortly after the latter is released into the bloodstream by the skin.)

I am taking Vitamin D3 between 2000 and 5000 Iu per day in combination with K2 and haven’t been sick for over two years at all… make sure you take extra Magnesium every day… 500mg to 1g per day is definitely not too much
