What I personally think about Death Metal these days is that it's become a parody of itself. Even Morbid Angel is a shadow of its former self. What Vitriol is doing is bringing some much needed fresh blood to the game, with some much needed intensity. "I think I'd like to see a creative shift in priority back to trying to cultivate an emotional connection with people." This guy's going far. I guarantee it. He's got the smarts and common sense to do whatever the fuck he wants, pretty much. He hit the nail on the head as to exactly what's missing from Metal in general these days, which to me, is passion, true creativity, impact and cerebral intensity, as well as that emotional connection that he spoke of. Emotional connection is critical in music. It's what allowed a strange band like Korn to break out. Korn only got as big as they did because they made a direct emotional connection with the abused and disenfranchised among us and then capitalized on it. If it wasn't for that, they would never have gotten outside their local scene.
It is nice to know Vitriol is not a band made of shitty-metal-heads! These guys have not only made an incredible music, but they also have shown content, consistency, loyalty to their creativity.... and taking average interviews to a higher level.
Saw them last night. Both Adam and Kyle are great guys. Very gracious and took time for questions and a few pics. Their set was performed at approx. 200mph , was face melting
You must live under a rock. Death Metal musicians are some of the chillest, most intelligent people you'll ever meet. If you expected him to be a Meathead, you have much to learn, young Padawan... As for him wanting to do what he does, the fact that he's a Death-Metal musician kinda makes that pretty obvious. Nobody *ever* got rich off Death-Metal, so if you're gonna do that for a living, you *have to* love the shit out of it. Otherwise there would be no fucking point.
Kyle is self aware, he doesnt come accross (to me at least) as arragont or elitist, how he described how he feels about death metal atm is great "you can have the best vocabulary in but if you dont have a fucking great story to tell me...", loves these guys 👌
the first time i saw his playthrough with the Violence, a worthy truth i was like oh man this guy is just so passionate and i dont even like death metal yet at that time. everytime youtube recommends that video i keep playing it and then later on i always look for it then i search for more of their songs and now i love this band
JeezUz his questions may not be perfectly stated, sure. But you can tell this dude is invested in what Kyle is saying and got some great thoughts out of him. I’d say he did his job pretty well.
