A lot of people saying they don't care about the multiplayer. Met, at other hand, would love to play with my friends. There's a lot of simslike games going to come out soon and I think the special thing about Vivaland is exactly that it's multiplayer.

Why is everyone complaining about the multiplayer? This is what makes this game unique...! There are 3-4 other life simulation games upcoming in the next 18 months that are open world and single player... I think it would be fun to have like... special lots for multiplayer sessions, like rooms in Habbo. Like parks, bars, restaurants and such as to meet new real people, but still having the single player community lots to play a regular save like in The Sims. 😁

Hi, there! I've been playing the dream house decorator since release (took the day off work), and just wanted to let you know this was a lovely experience! My only thing would be curved walls. I built the coolest curved home, but was unable to place doors or windows. Maybe it was just a glitch, but just wanted to let your team know! ❤

I'd rather have an open world than multiplayer. One of the biggest complaints about SIms 4 for instance is the lack of an open world, not the lack of a multiplayer feature. Maybe the player could be given multiplayer mode as an option? I think it's too big of a tradeoff to limit a player's freedom in order to accommodate the possibility of playing with others. Most of the times we just wanna fully imerse ourselves 😊

Really appreciate you guys working on these! I downloaded the game and couldn't get used to the camera and movements, so I took a break. I am subscribing to everything you posted here and will keep an eye out for when the changes come in so I can play again! Please fix these issues in the game: 1. The controls are really weird and wacky. I hate that nothing is explained for them and you can hardly see inside of a room with all of the walls being up. 2. Allow walls to be invisible/taken down PLEASE, I hate building at a birds-eye view. 3. Allow better selecting of items because currently, you have to move everything out of the way to select something that's behind your couch and it's so annoying. 4. Free placement of items. Why can't my plant go right next to my couch or near a wall? I wanted to make a rock garden outside and I couldn't because free placement wasn't even a thing !

I think you should keep it open world for multiplayer and just allow people to make dedicated servers if they don't want the stress of the host leaving and taking the fun with them.

I loved the idea of this game but as a disabled person the controls were impossible.

Suggestion for playing with friends. Similar format to VR Chat? In there you can go to a world alone and enjoy or you can open that world a small number of friends, or make it totally public. I have no idea if this is possible for this type of game but they have a great format in my opinion. The ability to play with friends in open neighborhood or world would be great! I know a lot of the other games coming out are not doing this so I would love to see it in this one and looking forward to that feature.

Would be interesting if there are plans for a headless server for the multiplayer part,. That would also potentially solve the problem of "open world" where you could just host the plots on the server. Once a host client connects to their own plot maybe they take control of the plot and hosting part ( of course just an idea ) . But id greatly appreciate a Headless Server version. So that its possible to play and leave and come back later without anyone having to wait for the one host who "ownes" the map on their device. Example, like Minecraft/ factorio.. etc. You have one server hosting and clients can connect and play whenever they feel like it. In anno for example ome player becomes the host, once that host leaves that game is stopped for everyone else as well. Sure, progress wil be different for people with more spare time to play. BUT at least you can just play with friends on One world. Great concept keep it up guys! 😊

One way to do the open world thing is to have so a person can create and host a server for friends or other. Weather on their system or on a dedicated server. Anyone who would be marked as an Admin can change came speed for the whole server. Like how Paradox games worth with speed controls. If everyone is at work, the I guess it I’ll speed up till someone is no longer at work.

The most interesting multiplayer model I have personally seen in gaming, is a game like Rust. There are many servers to choose from. The map is always live and players build (and PvP). They implemented community servers, allowing the host to be offline while the server is live. The building isn't the point of this game, but what if it was? I cannot think of a way to speed up time, I don't think it would be possible on a live server. With a game model like rust, I have wondered how that idea could be applied to a multiplayer Sims game.

Everybody don't want to play multiplayer, just a single player game with open world. Lets see how far this game go with LBY, InZoi and Paralives

I saw the video, I remembered that the game is available... I downloaded it and started playing, not knowing what to expect, I was accidentally making a crooked house, when I saw that it was like that I played around and started placing random objects on crooked walls on purpose, but soon after a few objects, trying to change the color of a bottle of wine, the game crashed, and I lost 1 hour of progress in the game. I'll test it again later.

The game itself looks fun and neat. I prefer a single player myself. I have not tried a Dream House demo yet, but from watching the videos that others tried and uploaded on RU-vid. It looks fun. The game needs some polished before the release date. I have also added this game on the wishlist at Steam. 😊

Would a game like this be available on steam deck? I've been thinking about getting one, but I'm unsure.

I'm just peeking, maybe will watch the video fully later, but I'm noting that people are ragging on the Multiplayer, and I'll be honest. As far as that goes, there's literally a number of other games known to be in the works that don't have it, if that's such a problem. Me personally, the multiplayer is a stand out for this game for me, so I'd rather not see it go anywhere. That being said, I am fully at a loss for how people are convinced it's (borderline?) impossible to implement a STRICTLY optional multiplayer function to a Life Simulator, and *not* have impact on the single player experience (including mods), and also not have the multiplayer experience be stripped of features that are present in the single player experience (also including mods). I'm absolutely certain that it's possible to do it this way, both from a technical perspective and a "conceptual" perspective, as I've thought about this plenty in the past myself based upon how other games have implemented multiplayer and such.

Will there be private dwelling mode? Where we can make it to where strangers or even other online players cant come onto our property?

I feel like every game entering this genre right now has to be mindful of what others are offering. The competition are all offering open world gameplay so this game is already at a disadvantage by excluding that. I know you guys wanted to focus on multi-player but time and time again we see that life sim fans do not want multi-player to take priority to the point that the main game suffers. Trying to force multi-player is a huge reason sims 4 is the mess it is now. Also mod support will be another thing that makes or breaks the game.

For the Open World and multiplayer, Why not a world full of commercial lots that will be host the mod?

Thanks for doing this! I am looking forward to the improvements. Will you open to beta testers when it becomes that time? Also, I know on Steam it says estimated in 2024, but please don't rush it. Like all the things you're working on that take time or are being pushed back, please extend the release date if needed.

It's the audacity of some that are not contributing a whole game to the community, making demands😂

Personally, I don't really care for multiplayer. I want an open world that supports rotationally gameplay (switch between households in the neighborhood and progression/aging are both frozen until you return back to play that household). I also want a Wants and Fears system with a decaying aspiration meter that has consequences if goes high or low. I play wants-based (like PleasantSims) so I want my character's personality-based wants to drive the gameplay.

The amount of people commenting on the fact that they don’t like the multiplayer are barking at the wrong tree. Imagine designing your own game with a concept and then people coming to your game hating your concept when they could just go buy a game with the features that they are looking for. It’s like going to a Minecraft developer and saying, I don’t like the graphics. There are many other survival crafting games that have more realistic graphics. If there is a game I’m not interested in, I’m not gonna attack someone’s dream or design because I don’t like it. If I don’t want or like a game, I won’t buy it. But rant aside, I cannot wait for this game. I played the dream house and it was so fun, I struggled with the camera angles though (left moved right, right moves left) I wonder if you would be willing to add another camera style.

I think it is better every NPC has their house or their town. More realistic and fun. If it's not open world I think it's better NPC by themselves make friends, marry, have a baby, get a job, get promotion etc.

I'll be checking your Discord server because I got the decorator game, tried it and had a crash. I've had the game crash on me all the time (the two times I have tried to play it). It was discouraging even with the lovely style of the furniture and all that. I'll give it another go. Who knows, third time's a charm, right?

We actually don’t care about multiplayer… I’d prefer a functional game with an open world than a game with many restrictions just because it’s multiplayer!

I have a question, Where are the people in the game?

My opinion on the build mode. The menu is lagging and slow, also there is no mouse sensitivity change option. The features like full painting walls are missing, object placing okay in my opinion but the whole mode felt slow, maybe my pc build is not good enough for it but the game does not feels currently high end so not really gets why the game is slower on my end. Other than this, my impressions and others pointed out what things still missing the game is heading to a good place. I personally removed the module until things fixed but I am hopeful and I believe the game will be a good competition for the sims, paralives, life by you, inzoi - name 10 other similar game. Also : Hajrá magyarok.

If you absolutely need multiplayer, why not take inspiration from the Sims 3 console and have sections of open world? I wouldn't mind having 2-5 lots in one area to explore then need to leave to go to another lot.

Mby team up with providers like g-portal to host an entire open world with like 4 slots just 4 friends and only admins of the server can skip time since you you should just played with friends you can just ask the admin to skip

As for the multiplayer open world thing... I would have the open world be the server world that you could play with your friends, then you could also have your single player world. With the same character(s)... many games do this. Valheim does it. I wouldn't choose multiplayer over having an open world, from a game design perspective. The majority of your players will not play multiplayer. I think the benefit of having an open world outweighs multiplayer. That said, the Valheim format is a way of having both.

why no ps4?

Multiplayer is the only reason, Im not gonna get this game. It will be so restricted and I dont really want multiplayer if that the only option to play this game,

This I see was released a month ago as the first Devlog, I found out only because I just watched the 3rd one, so I haven't seen number 2 yet, BUT, I as I said I watched the 3rd video, and like this one I gave it a thumb down too! While with the 3rd one my problem was this BS about a real Single Player mode, but they showed no proof it really is, and here they mention that they will be allowing us to build on more then one lot, but how about also creating other households in Single Player mode, because though we who prefer Single Player mode like to play alone, with don't want top play in a totally empty world! But that all being said above, now about why I gave this one a thumbs down too, BECAUSE, with all those important features missing in Dream House, why even bother releasing a demo of the build mode without including all those features you say it will have in early access? I played it first day it came out, then quit because it has no REAL tutorial, so you are left to guess more then half of what your need to do to build anything, and I couldn't even place a wall because it kept acting like something was either in the way or it needed something else! But then the next day I tried it again, afterwards I gave up on it, since I really did see me buying the early access or full game! Also he said their is NO GRID, but that's not true, it does have a grid, it just has it where you can turn it on and off, so I am not sure why he said there was none! And unless the second video addresses this next part, I noticed watching the trailer that the characters in the game are like the temp avatars in Second Life, because in that video the two males look exactly alike, just dressed different, so I think I need to have a demo for creating the people/characters as well, before I would even consider buying the game, because one thing I have learned from EA/Maxes and The Sims franchise is to NOT trust any trailers for any game without being able to try parts of the game I am concerned without first, which is NOT just building! I mean seeing as this game is clearly more about the characters relationships or more like our relationships with friends, since I am still not convinced that this game is going to be very good if you want to play the Single Player mode, I need to see how not only how to create a character, but how they are in the game, which hasn't been shown in a way that satisfies me! I know all of EAs bells and whistles that they use in all their trailers for The Sims, and also other game companies, so unlike some people on here who are praising the game for showing really NOTHING, I need more then a flashy made trailers and some limited shots of possible game play! And since I wasn't even remotely impressed with the building demo, since it made me a lot less interested in the whole game, then I already was after seeing the first trailers, with the cloned male characters! Also I noticed people asking why people are complaining that it's multiplayer, well I am because they are also claiming it supports Single Player mode, which so far I haven't seen any proof it REALLY does or at least you will have as much features as the multiplayer mode or as it's actually called Co-op which is different from Multiplayer, because you are only playing with friends at least people you may know in person or from some other online community, and not total strangers like say - Second Life, which is multiplayer! But there is a lot of reasons to complain about this game, and if they are being totally honest about how different their Single Player mode will be next to other Life Sims, even just The Sims, then there is a good reason to be concerned with their so called Single Player Mode! Also another thing a lot of people keep throwing around praise to all the other Life Sims games dev teams, about them listening to and interacting with their communities, including this one, but I don't see it with this game, they have showed VERY little REAL game play, especially Single Player, even though they know that to get long time The Sims players interest, you better be showing a lot of Single Player Mode too, not JUST the Co-op mode, because us LONGTIME The Sims players mostly prefer Single Player Mode! To me they seem to be hiding a lot, while promising a lot too, but showing nothing to prove that anything they are promising will ever happen! You want game Devs who are showing real interests and interacting and listening to player, their communities, check out Life By You and Paralives, not Vivaland, because seeing as it's created by a Sim modder, I'm betting what they learned the most from The Sims, is the sneakiness of EA/Maxis, not anything else! So far I am not impressed in the slightest, but hey people if you want to get it, go ahead, just don't go complaining when it turns out to be a dud, a fakery, a trick, but do expect a lot of I TOLD YOU SO when you do! Which you will! Because even if I was at all interested in Co-Op mode, the fact that they aren't being very straight forward about the Single Player Mode, haven't shown even a little bit of actual game play, just specially made trailer like clips of the Co-Op mode, makes me not trust them yet! I think they are especially trying to make it seem like they are like Life By You the most, since it's the one that is coming out on June 4th and have been showing all kinds of videos of its development since last year, and are now showing videos about modding, along with having RU-vid big Simmers playing the game themselves, so right now they are the ones to beat or copy as is the case there, but just without doing any of what they are actually doing, just pretending! Which going by the comments under this one and the 3rd video that I watched first today, it seems to be working with most people! But it won't work with me! 😒
