Just so tragic for Vivien and all her family and friends...bipolar disorder destroys those affected by it. Altho treatment is better, it is still a knife edge.
I find the scathing narrative about her mental health being the source of all the problems in her life and not an expression of the early separation from her parents, always having to present the perfect relationship and exhausting demands of life as an actress and the pressure of being forever in the public eye very very sad.
Why would anyone that having a sanity in mind think Vivien Leigh will look the same as Scarlett...a role she deliver 20 years prior? Just look at Audrey Hepburn... from 1957 to mid 1970s...she just changed drastically just like Vivien. Why ppl can accept Audrey for instance, but not Vivien? I do not see any logic here. The girl was battling a string of illness including mental issues with little to no support at all. She worked hard as she could. At least...she did find a loving man towards the end of her illustrative life.... this is enough happy ending there. She looks happy, despite all these high and lows. I am coincidentally a scorpion myself, at least...this is how I feel... given her turmoils and dedication led to a certain degree of happiness... she just embrace it!
She seems to be jealous of her fame, talent and beauty, now it is time to take a revenge and badmouth about Vivien, you are totally right Rose had never been a friend for Vivien. On the other side people like Vivien never have friends because they are too bright to be among ordinary people. This is the tragedy of her life. However she will remain the brightest star forever despite people like Rose.
And so was Mr. Larry if he wasn't the center of attention himself. Even Olivier's son Tarquin from his first marriage to Jill Esmond says in another youtube video that good ol' Larry was jealous of the fact that VL won an Oscar for best actress in GWTW. It was also very well known about the noted Olivier ego. lol
@@recoveringintrovert717 You say she was 'terrible' before the bipolar,' says who? You? Lol Olivier was with her for well over twenty years, so he was in no hurry to get out of the relationship. If you knew anything about Olivier, he was kind of 'terrible' too. As the late, great Katherine Hepburn said about him, 'Great actor, small man.' Ouch! It was mentioned in biographies that even when Olivier was married to the Plowright woman, who was much younger than him, by the way. That he had an off and on again affair with the actress Sarah Miles for years. You notice the estate never bothered to sue her for what she put in books about their affair. Why do think that is? lol
@@terrihilder8217 yikes... calm down. She whipped him in the face with a towel. She wasn't faithful either. Like... you could say the same things about her in his defense? That she had affairs, that she was physically abusive. The only thing you can't compare is their acting. She was clearly superior.
@@recoveringintrovert717 I guess you'd rather trash and badmouth an actress that you never knew and talk about how 'terrible' they are. But overlook anything the troubled man did (Olivier) in how he he lived his life. Figures! Lol
@@terrihilder8217 ... Friend, are you okay? You never knew her either and you don't know me. In fact, we don't know anything about these people except what is reported to us. But you cannot blame someone for leaving someone who is physically abusive. Man or woman. You can't just disregard his abuse because he's a man and apparently that makes him the Devil to you. I may not have known him, but you never knew her either. She's a phenomenal actress, an inspirational business woman, and an incredibly strong person for dealing with her Bipolar disorder during such an ignroant time period. I admire her, but I will not dismiss that she was in fact a morally bankrupt person. That makes me love her more, if anything. So come down from your high horse and take a breath
