When you get to Mount Shasta, CA - there are LOTS of trails to hike. We stayed in the area for one short week 😭 but we made the most of it by going on a hike every day after our work day and hitting as many Mount Shasta hiking trails as possible. But we LOVED this one - McCloud Falls! 😍😍😍

Just north of me. I am in Redding, you probably passed through. There are a lot falls here and each are amazing in their own way. My favorite is Mossbrae falls. You have to walk the railroad track to get there. Those are in Dunsmuir. It’s well worth the walk on the tracks. You were also in my hometown of Gilroy/Morgan Hill. Have fun on your adventures. Love watching them! 😊

I used to go to the McCloud lower falls all the time when i was around 5...that was almost 35 years ago. There used to be a family of otters that lived at the bottom of the upper falls back then.

Missing 411 by david paulides. So many go missing every year hiking n hunting. Always carry a personal locator beacon and a satellite phone.

Going up the mountain should be the first priority when visiting Mt. Shasta. McCloud Falls is an okay 2nd destination, although Mt. Shasta city park(Headwaters) might be a better 2nd destination.

Everyone's opinion is different, we loved starting with McCloud and working our way to other trails on Shasta. We actually didn't care for the Headwaters 🤷‍♀️
