I see what I love about your recipes. You do each step slowly and with explanation. I watch first, get a list of ingredients, and then watch again, just to see the steps. Then I play the whole thing next to me on my iPad as I make it. It perfectly suits my speed and ability to do it correctly. This will be one of my favorites, I can see now. Thanks.

I love how you arranged the apples. I've made the same cake in a round pan with the apples arranged in diminishing circles (it looks like a large rose or peony). But your way looks neater when sliced. Beautiful flowers, as always!

I discovered this channel quite by accident about a week ago, I was interested and so subscribed and I have been loving every minute since. I’m loving watching the recipes and the decor. It would be lovely to see more house and gardens tours to see how things are getting on as I understand you have really saved this house from ruin. The countryside there where you live, looks beautiful in autumn- and just like ours in the UK.

I have tried many of your recipes and I am yet to be disappointed. I plan on baking this rustic apple cake for my afternoon tea today.

It is much more colorful up in the Hudson Valley than it is here on Long Island but once in a while, I see a real show stopper tree as I drive. I love this season! As a native New Yorker, from NYC originally, and they from the Hudson River Valley for decades, I miss terribly the vibrant colors of fall. Here in Williamsburg VA, we do have fall, but much more muted. I made your recipe for leek/potato soup and it turned out fantastic. Will try the stew and apple tatin also. They also looked delicious.

This my mothers apple cake recipe circa 1940’s Italy. Your addition of putting apples in lemon juice cinnamon and sugar first is smtg I will definitely incorporate in future plus layering apples in variable directions . Lovely touch. My mother would approve of your fine touches!

I love this cake, Kevin. My mom made it in the fall and here called for some orange juice. I remember it being so moist! Walking Avery made me remember my time there spent with my daughter, she worked at Cornell coop- extension and we would always go for a beautiful walk . My grandmother got a recipe from some of her hospital auxiliary thrift shop friends for Phoenixville Hospital many years ago. She said it was called Jewish apple cake and it was definitely a favorite for dessert or snack. It was loaded with apples and was an excellent moist cake. I miss my mother and grandmother every day
