Perhentian Video Day 2 proving to be quite challenging to finish (or maybe I'm just not in the best of health), so here's a video of me giving excuses in Malay instead. With dual subtitle of course.

This and the room tidying video, I listened to again and again and I think I learned more from those two videos than I did from any other sources! Thank you

I agree as well with Lauren, I feel a video like this is a gold mine haha. Especially having the subtitles as well. Thank you so much. We have the audio to listen back, video to watch back too, and subtitles for flashcards as well. It's all so helpful because there isn't a lot out there for Malay, as Lauren said. I've had to just navigate it on my own for almost 2 years now, and slooooww progress but it's still progress haha. Thank you for this video and all the other videos you do. I know it is a ton of work - that's crazy having to work on the subtitles for 6 hours alone O.O It is really greatly appreciated :) Looking forward to the rest of the days of your trip. Take as long as you need.

It's never great to hear that people you watch or follow got sick and in pain, sorry to hear that and harap2 lepas episod ni, ape2 penyakit pun takut nak datang dekat you :) Anyway, I feel that you set a very high standard for your videos and contents, which is great and I am sure everyone would agree that they are amazing. But a lot of times, a quick chat with your viewers like this one, is also very helpful in connecting with your viewers, as we're all mere human beings, making connection is vital for us. The best part is that, I was not even watching your video, I was listening while working, like listening to an old friend talking, and that is also helping me to remember that I can still understand Bahasa Melayu very well, I just hope I can actually converse more so that I won't struggle with finding words I have forgotten in Malay when I am trying to express myself. Terima Kasih Banyak2 Cik Lisa!

Thank you. Great idea . I’m slowly learning BM. Just came back from KL with my daughters and it was so good after watching your videos as I was able to talk BM to some people and understand street signs better etc. I think a video of someone walking around KL and explaining what all the words in the shops and street signs mean would be pretty good

Seriously this is the best kind of video. One of pure malay. I have decided to start learning malay seriously (see my latest video on YT for proof 😂 my level is horrific) and the lack of material for learning malay is astounding. There are no comprehensible input RU-vidrs teaching malay, there are no malay podcasts, no malay on the major apps… I am really struggling to understand the reason for this! Is there no interest? Does malaysia not want foreigners learning malay? Kidding 😂 but anyway. Thank you for this. I plan on downloading the audio and putting it on my phone and just listening again and again to get the flow of the language. I do hope you are feeling better, and that you dont put pressure on yourself to finish the videos quickly. We will be here when you are ready, take all of the time you need.

Also i dont want to accuse you of click baiting because I am 109% sure that wasnt your intention but the title and words on thumbnail gave me a shock!! The vibe was just like… I thought you were going to say something like I’m done with RU-vid or something!! Thank goodness its ‘just’ editing woes (I hate editing/cutting, subtitles I quite like!) and not you saying goodbye forever! We need you ☀️

@@LaurenAngela_aufDeutsch OMG seriously? I blame it on my lack of sleep. Sorry about that hahaha. I'll leave a proper reply when I can. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Would love to talk to you about podcasting one day, I'm thinking of creating several.

I’m sorry you were feeling sick! I really liked this video with the subtitles as I can get a nice flow for how the language sounds. But you are so right about the sheer amount of time it takes to produce a video and do subtitles. I teach online and I make my transcripts the same way for my classes. I have been looking into doing a speech-to-text program or app so all I would have to do is fill in the blanks when the AI doesn’t catch something, rather than me typing out everything. As for the shaking camera, I got a pocket gimbal camera (DJI brand I believe) and that stabilizes the footage whenever I walk (I am quite unsteady on my feet so vlogging was tough at times). Anyways thanks as always for sharing your knowledge with us and for all your hard work! 💜

Dear Sierra Lisse, just sharing my research, Malay is among the oldest language (at least 7,000yrs BC, older then Hindi) and Yes, it is proven, the world's easiest language and more so when it was Romanized after the May 13, 1969. Moreover Malay was the lingua franca of sea trade at Zero AD. It covered, from Japan to Sri Lanka (se-langka or single step) to Bangla (pengkalan) or to Madagascar (Medan Askar or cantonment) to South Africa and beyond. Eg. Catamaran = Kata Maran = Literal: Saying, Wise-man = Translation: state your destination. Where, Kata = state or statement. Marang = fruit; ripened until the skin is broken And Maran = wise and experienced "person". The Wise-man is the Navigator and the magnetic compass was invented by the Malays. Not by the Chinese. Others: Wi-bawa = Courier and Wi-mana (vimana) = Transport (sea). Also: Malays invented international trading currency (money), the Cowrie shell. The Cowrie is native to Palembang (endemic) [ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cowrie ] You may ask, if the Malays were so great,.. Why are they missing in History ?? "Takkan Melayu hilang di dunia ??" {Hang Tuah, 1956, Staring Tan Sri Datuk Amar Teuku Zakaria, Stagename: P. Ramlee} It is true, the pure Malays are a "critically endangered species"... caused by Kublai Khan in 1292 And at the same time, also lost their family name (surname) So, What is difference Bahasa Malaysia and Bahasa Malayu ?? And Why is Bahasa Malayu illegal in Malaysia ?? - Sorry... maybe another time... comment below. (Extractions from: "World History of Sequence and Consequences") Thanks for your support, all the best, we love you too and don't give up.

I am sorry you're not feeling great. Please take care of yourself. We enjoy all your videos. However, I think your RU-vid videos are becoming a big part of your life. Therefore, maybe it's time to invest in a better camera with the stability taken care of automatically for you (Think something like the DJ Pocket 2?). It seems this feature is becoming more standard on the newer cameras. We all need to remember that perfection leads to zero production. Be okay with okay. Don't add unnecessary stress to your life. Mistakes make you natural and human (like the rest of us😂!)

Thank you for spending your time in making such content , I have always wanted to learn malay since young but didn’t managed to as videos online was mostly boring and hard to keep up to until I came across your videos 😁 Learning malay through your vlogs has been pretty interesting , although I’m still at around clip 50+ however , it has been quite helpful for me in understanding simple malay . Please keep up the hard work & stay healthy , you have a lot of fans here ! 😁

Hey Lisa! Not sure if you will see this but I was wondering if you could do an office based or computer conversation like maybe you narrating from when you start your computer to editing. I know you did a stationery one too and that made me think of asking you about this. Thanks either way :)
