Awesome effort. From someone who has just done an Ironman and lots of endurance races I would definitely recommend eating way more. For a ride that long you should eat a higher carbohydrate breakfast before going out and try to have around 60g carbs per hour. 1 dates is 5gs carb and 1 lolly is around 10g.
