VN24 - 18-04-2023 (D/M/Y) - Holzwickede / Germany - At around 11:30 a.m., the driver of a so-called tank suction truck came across a truck on the country road he was driving northbound, which apparently made good use of the road width. The driver of the suction truck therefore had to swerve so far to the right that his wheels ended up on the unpaved shoulder next to the road. Here the wheels sank in and the driver, with the presence of mind, did not steer back onto the road, which would inevitably have overturned the truck, but saved the expensive special vehicle by driving completely alongside the roadway. He was uninjured in the process. The recovery contractors Kollmer and Bracht were able to lift the nearly undamaged truck back onto the paved road surface by using a crane. The accident resulted only in a dent to the tank and a bent telephone pole. The oncoming truck fled the scene of the accident.
