VN24 - 18-04-2023 (D/M/Y) - Schwerte A1 / Germany - On Tuesday morning, two drivers were injured on the A1 freeway near Schwerte. According to accident witnesses, the 33-year-old driver of a Fiat panel van was traveling northbound toward Bremen on the middle of three lanes at around 8:10 a.m.. Shortly before the Schwerte junction, he apparently intended to change to the right lane. In doing so, he apparently failed to recognize that a Mercedes transporter was traveling quite slowly in this lane due to traffic congestion. The two vehicles collided, causing minor injuries to the driver of the FIAT and the 43-year-old driver of the Mercedes. The ambulance service took both drivers to hospital for further checks. The recovery companies John and Ganswind took care of the removal of the damaged vehicles.
