Seriously, in my opinion this was not an audition this was Angelina's coming out mini concert to the rest of the world that has not had the honor to witness her vocal artistry. She owns the stage the minute she steps on it. The bare footed princess of song has entered the building... Angelina's opening phrase just mesmerizers and masterfully commands everyone's full silence and awe of her vocal artistry. She has fulfilled her stated dream when she 6 years old of becoming a super star , however, she has now gone way beyond that and has now become a Jazz singing living legend barely starting her teenage years of life. Someone said, recently, as you hear more and more of Angelina, you cease to be surprised but are always amazed. Well said. Angelina is not just another great singer that can be put in particular box of singing style or genre. She is a fine musical instrument comparable to a Stradivarius violin, when it is put in the hands of master musician has the ability to play any song and any genre type of music at will... Justin, thank you for your insightful reaction to this Angelina Jordan performance. It is obvious that you are a true professional who understands the technical and artistic aspects of vocal music. As a retired music educator and jazz musician, I hold Ella Fitzgerald as the gold standard for embellishments, riffs, runs, whatever you want to call them. She would not only emulate the improvisation of the great instrumentalists of her day, she created her own style that set her apart from everyone else. She always stayed within the changes of the music and never did too much or too little, just the right amount. So many of today's singers do "vocal gymnastics" without really understanding the musicality that is required to be artistic. Through training and sheer innate ability, Angelina "gets it" and we, her audience, are immensely fortunate to listen to her artistry. I like to think of her as the Barbra Streisand of the 21st century. Not because their voices are alike, but because Angelina will be as much or more of a superstar as Barbra was in her prime.

When Angelina was learning English, she came across the adjective 'nervous'. She didn't understand it so her teacher translated it to Norwegian , , , , , she still didn't understand it!

Welcome to the world of Angelina Jordan, I've been one of her "Angels" for about 2 years now & am totally in awe of her vocal & emotive skills. I have never had a singer effect me like she does. She brings out the emotion of the lyrics better than anyone I've seen. She regularly gives me the chills & often makes me cry, sometimes because of the meaning of the lyrics but sometimes because it's just so frickin beautiful. She is like a drug. If you are stressed out about your day, listen to one of her mellow, velvet-voice. emotive songs like A Million Years Ago & you will feel the stress drain from your body, no prescription necessary.

Your heart rate increases, you find it difficult to catch your breath, chills and shells engulf you. You are now addicted to Angelina Jordan the finest story telling vocalist I have ever experienced.

I'm happy to see that the world is starting to listen to Angelina. I remember hearing her singing Fly Me To The Moon 6/7 years ago on Norwegian television, and I was positive that she would become a legend. I really hope the music industry won't mess her up and put her into boxes, but that we will see her as the true artist she is.

I truely believe that Angelina is a musical genious. Somebody has that ability to always get the pitch right. And she has said she is not nervous, she gets so into the song, I guess if she could, she would prefer to keep her eyes closed during the whole performance. But I think doing that would not be smart in front of an audience.

She has over 120 covers and other videos that she has recorded between the ages of 6 and 14 which is her current age. She has already established herself as an established jazz artist. Her preferred genre is Jazz but she has done covers of about every genre you can name. What you will find in Angelina is a vocalist who doesn't do vocal gymnastics, she simply and beautifully interprets the story and meaning of the song and pours her soul into every performance. Angelina has sung for Barrack Obama, Quincy Jones, Nobel Laureates, the king of Sweden, the king of Norway, and other dignitaries. She has performed everywhere from small weddings of a few people, to London's O2 stadium with 40,000 people. She performs at jazz festivals, conferences, and charity benefits. At the age of 14, she is a seasoned performer with 8 years of recording and performing. Many of her live performances when she was 10, 11, and 12 years old blow away even the original adult performers of the songs she sings. She is definitely worth your time to experience and get to know. She has covered Sinatra, Elvis, Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday, Queen, Miley Cyrus, Patsy Cline, James Brown, Lana Del Rey, Norma Jones, Adele, Ella Fitzgerald and many more. First, did you know she was thirteen when this was recorded? Angelina says she is never nervous before she sings. She said on Skavlan when she sings she goes to another world, it's endless. I was so happy hearing you refer to "dancing around a note." To me, there are singers who can sing each note, loud to soft, on pitch. They sing each note but that is it. Angelina dances with her notes. She dances around, up and down her notes. A single note becomes three as she sings into the next. I can't stop listening to her.

She didn't modify the "A" on the word mama actually, that's how it sung. I believe that Queen sings it that way, and that's definitely the way I learned it in choir years ago.

She became 14 on 10 January 2020. She has been singing publicly since the age of 7. the first video of her singing in a recording studio was at the age of 6. And, take this aboard. She is 6' 1" (183cm)in height! Believe me, there is no other singer like her. Simon Cowell remarked he had never heard this version before,and he was right because Angelina rewrote it for the performance. She took the words of the lyrics she wished to use and then rearranged them, and then rearranged the music, until she was sure that both truly reflected what she wanted to achieve in her performance. I found it hauntingly beautiful. Your enthusiasm for music is so contagious, I found myself going back to your reaction over and over again. Please try to find time to react to "A Million Years Ago". Angelina does justice to this song, as she does on any song she sings. But I believe that, my personal opinion, she is extra emotive in her rendition of this Adele song.

I quite like your sensitive technical approach on Angelina`s voice. Whereat I´d prefer to say that her voice is floating and not dancing around those musical themes. Such term might also be a hint on her general approach on and relation to music, the reason for her non-nervousness and the ease she's is singing with since it appears not to exhaust her in the slightest and to be a just a part of her natural breathing process. Anyway, Angelina has a lot more to offer on her channels. Would be nice to watch some more of your reactions on her.:)

FYI...Simon required for her to sign an exclusive contract with his company, in order for her to win AGT, and she gave her answer with this song. If you look closely, you'll notice she is wearing a t-shirt with a picture of her as a child, when she won Norway GT. when she begins to sing, she gives him a glance and clearly he got the message, hence his stone cold face. I love when she inserts blue notes, right out of the blues scale, without losing the melody she is singing. The style she brings to all her performances in various degrees, is Jazz singing. She grew up listening to her grandmother's great female jazz and blues greats: Ela Fitzgerald, Billy Holiday, et al., and even the more recent Nora Jones and Amy Winehouse. But young Angelina Jordan Astar always brings her own voice to every song she performs - she doesn't mimic or imitate other singers. Nor does she just dally in different musical genres.

After she had sung the first line of Gloomy Sunday when she auditioned for "Norway's got talent" at the age of SEVEN!!! It was all over!, there is no point in having her in any competition!, there is NO ONE who is qualified to judge her. She is already a legend, better than all singers alive today.
