I wish you wouldn’t interrupt The singing on a holding note to give your comments. While we obviously are on this site to watch you give your comments can you just wait until a note completes before you pause it. You’re interrupting some of the most beautiful parts of what he’s doing to give your opinion and it would only take you a couple more seconds to wait until the note is completed before you pause it at the right time

Have you listened to him singing Ogni Pietra or Passione? Or recently Ulisse? After that you will think again about his Voice being a very light Tenor ^^ Quite the Opposite, in recent Performances his Voice sounds remarkably low and full, Baritone territory, so he shows this side too besides his Super High Notes.

I understand that you are a pro and I think you did a really good job keeping it together, but come on dude, this is the kind of singer you meet once per generation! You are allowed to go bananas with your reaction to Dimash!! He's not just another very good singer! He is THE singer. An innovator, opening new paths and ideas for singing! He is one of the best vocalists alive right now!! :) This is not a rant! I really enjoyed your analysis, hopefully you will do more of Dimash. My personal recommendation is "Ogni Pietra" from Arnau concert. It's an anthemic operatic song, specifically written for Dimash's insane skill, where he displays his baritone and tenor quality better than in any other song and he shows a lot of maturity!! It's an astonishing performance and I honestly don't think there is currently any person alive who could cover that song the way Dimash does!

Maybe stop pre-judging... definitely not a "soft voice" and definitely not "just squeaking out those top notes"...

He started at 5 & he is now 25 with a range of 6 octaves, plays 7 instruments & sings in 12 languages. I really wish these voice coaches would just react to the whole song uninterrupted first so they can actually enjoy all the build up and emotion and THEN go back and break it down.

Hey Matt Finally someone said it besides myself "GENETICS" both Parents are award winning Vocalists in their country.you can practice your whole life and not perform like Dimash. Similar to Usain Bolt in Sprinting, Phelps in swimming, William sisters in Tennis or Tiger Woods in Golf just a few examples. Dimash falls in that category. Dimash knows every technique and more and performs them to perfection. Amazing Talent. I’ve read a few of the comments so far and they echo how I feel about Dimash. But let me warn you that if you continue to react to his videos/songs you will see your subscriptions rise exponentially. And you will eventually be shocked at the views for each of your reactions to Dimash. His dears or his fans love checking out vocal coach reactions and they immediately subscribe. This 25-year-old man is a musical genius. There are very few genres that he will not attempt at this time. i.e. I cannot imagine him trying a bluegrass song or even a country song. But pop, opera, classical, Etc. are right up his alley. Currently he has sung in 12 different languages And speaks fluent Kazakh, Russian and getting better with his English. We will appreciate your technical criticisms or critiques in the future. With 19,000+ subscribers right now you are probably pretty busy teaching vocal lessons and reacting to various other artists. However, if we could get at least one Dimash reaction every week, not only will you learn a lot from him, but you will be shocked at the dears that comment about this amazing singer and amazing human being. You were very much correct in saying that his natural talent, God-given voice box or instrument and 20 years of daily practice and dedicated vocal teachers who he praises almost daily and gives them much credit for his success today, Is the reason we are hearing what we are hearing.You are in for the ride of your life with Dimash.

He can get rather tricky in picking out exactly what register he's using ha there's a lot of overlap where he can pick and choose which version of specific notes he wants to offer haha. I've always viewed it as if his songs are more like arranging a choral piece where you have to consider all the different voice types of your choir and where different solos will happen etc, except he's doing that just with one voice. There is of course a shed load of training and sheer love of music that goes into the kind of approach to singing he takes, it would have been much more straightforward to go for a single genre (be that opera specifically or a more contemporary genre) but with as much to offer in a single voice in both range and ability to switch between styles so cleanly (and clearly an enjoyment of singing more than just one style) it would've become so boring. I see it the same way as why I chose Geology to study. Yes I love physics and biology and chemistry and maths but I also love how they interplay in the environment and how they all developed alongside to give us modern day Earth, Geology meant I could study all of these individual sciences within the context of a planet, whereas Dimash's understanding of his own voice and music in general allows him to perform under the umbrella of Neo-classical with as many or as few techniques and octaves as he chooses for that particular piece. Random thought of the day ha. Also for me personally, although I only sing for my own happiness now, hearing someone who has mastered their voice even though it is across such a wide spectrum gave me some kind of comfort in a way. I always had a much lower voice than other girls in my teenage choirs or in other bands etc, so much so that my teacher ended up just putting me in with the tenors as there weren't enough of them to produce enough volume over the very big group of sopranos and handful of altos. I always felt out of place as even when I found famous female singers who could sing lower it was never -that- low and it was never something they used regularly it was only after you'd listened to their whole catalogue there would be like three notes in one song for example. But listening to Dimash who has traversed through the expected male voice, beyond even countertenor land and is just beautifully upfront with it, here's my voice and I'm going to use it to make music I'm not gonna hide it just because it's unexpected. It just made me feel my voice wasn't so strange and since then I've found a couple of female singers who do use their lower notes as a bigger part of their music which was cool! Sorry for the speech! Haha. Thanks for the video!

Really not enjoyable, listen to the entire god damn song and then go back to review part by part for god's sake! Dimash has transported me to another zone, the deepest depth of my soul since last week, I can't get out of it, tears are flowing don't think it is tears of sadness, feels more like love...I am 100% sure his voice is very healing, I can't stop listening to him esp Ave Maria & Ikanaide, this phenomenon has never happened to me with any other singer before！He deserves a Grammy & Oscar!

That was amazing, loved it when you showed us those exercises on how to prepare our voice. Great analysis, teachers tends to overeact when they listen such wide vocal range control and seamless transitions (as far as I know his bottom is D2 and highest D8) I really enjoy all his voice colors and different techniques executions. stage presence too

Funnily enough Dimash is a natural baritone, though of course his range goes way beyond any typical "voice range test". His speaking voice puts him at baritone

'Only two lines in and this is a counter tenor', nope, this is Dimash, he transcends all qualifications. That was hilarious actually. Thinking you can qualify him from just a couple of lines. Wait till you watch some other videos of his. Also, and this isn't strictly aimed at you but what's the deal with a lot of (supposed) vocal coaches pausing the video every 5 seconds or so. It's annoying. Just watch the video, react to it, give your thoughts at the end. It's nice to know a little bit of what's going on but I don't need a pause every other second. I just want to see an honest and pure reaction. There's only so many times you can say 'now here he's lowering his larynx, he's great at connecting notes and nice fluid transition from mix to head voice' bla bla bla. Yeah ok, you know the lingo. Less is more, no need to overanalyse.
