This kind of topic could make negative attitude of the Fans. Both of them are great, and we need to respect VITAS as the original. Our music taste is different. You can select to listen to what you like, but do not compare who is better than who. It's not fair for the Artists.

Vitas is good but Dimash is on a different level. Dimash has so much depth in his voice and his range is ridiculous! No one can sing like Dimash. He is truly a rare jewel.

U mean dimash is good but he will never be vitas, he's a copy cat without his own style, screams more than he sings, he can only produce vibrato if he shakes his head like a mongoloid, and he can't even pronounce words correctly hahahhahahahahahhaaa lol, dimash hahahahahaha

@@georgekamel6489 Dimash has a much better sound chest resonators in the chest register. Vitas does not have such a quality mix voice and belting. Dimash is much better in the head register, has better dynamics and voice flexibility. Better support across the range. Dimash has more wider range C2 - D8 (over 6 octave) VS Vitas D2 - E6 (4 octave and 1 note)

@@georgekamel6489 Vitas isn't as well-trained vocally as Dimash. When you listen to Vitas singing the lower registers, his vocals are uneven, and he's slightly off-key 4:12-4:19. Dimash might be too emo for many people's taste, but he is definitely a better singer.

Dimash is such a humble person, he never tries to compare himself to another talented singer. He acknowledges and truly respects other artists. He loves all music, all great performers and is always graciously complimentary of other singers. Please dont compare, just enjoy them both. No contest!!! Dimash has better control, higher voice range and doesn’t need to distort his face to hit those notes. Dimash is so natural...and far humbler than Vitas was.

If reactors can't stop making comparison videos, at least we fans can stop comparison comments! What's the point that you have to write down who is better? It's your personal opinion anyway. One of the best personality of Dimash is humble and respectful to others especially his seniors. He has nothing but respect to vitas who is the original artist of this song. Why can't we fans reflect the virtue of Dimash when we speak of other artists?

This is vitas song called opera 2 Vitas. Technically doesn't sing much in beginning. Almost like talking. Until the high headvoice (btw that was not live) Dimash. Sings the whole song and tries to give it life and colors. Also it's fully live Main difference if you finish the song. Vitas. Modulates once and again not live Dimash upped the key 3 times and. Live Clear winner. Dimash If you look at other performances by Dimash he's a clear winner. He can do much more with his voice and has incredible low register

Vitas can not sing this live, I’ve searched for a 100% live performance, I can’t find one. End of contest when 1 can sing the whole song live and add more to it and spice it up more. Absolutely no contest. Dimash the winner by a mile

The Honest Vocal Coach The New Foundry Studios no u r actually professional, cuz u picked up the real live voice out of two! it’s VITAS’S song, they r both Russian, well dimash is still Russian tho looks Asian, now his voice is real, even tho he is resigning the old number 2 from VITAS, VITAS is computer generated auto tuned voice, HE HAS NEVER performed live, only with playback, needless to say he had a few mishaps which u can find online , where his playback got cut off but mic was on, tech difficulty n he is screaming like a cat whose tail is getting cut off, he can’t even sing happy birthday I’m afraid in tune! So good job, btw everyone kind of knows that in Russia, his career has been ruined when ppl realized the whole prophecy was fake... sorry, but GREAT JOB for picking at least the real voice! 👏

It's cool that Dimash was able to go up 2 keys after the 1st chorus, but it's not fair to compare that to Vitas only going up 1 key. The song was written to go up 1 key and as Vitas is the original artist, he sang it as the song is written. They are both excellent singers. I agree Vitas has a cleaner voice and based on that I would choose him for this song. If another song were compared, I might choose Dimash.

Dimash, now 24, is the Khazak son of an opera singer mother and a pop star/music producer father. He's trained formally, extensively since the age of 5 on multiple instruments and voice. As a teen he trained operatically at an arts school but with his range that meant performing as a tenor and a soprano. His tone is so exceptional he actually was part of the female section of the choir (there are pictures!). He then studied rock, pop and RnB vocal styles in college where he obtained a degree in Pop Music and Piano (he plays several instruments well including the Khazak dhombra and the drums). His goal is to tastefully combine these vocal techniques, along with some Turkic and folk elements of his native land, to create a musical fusion that is unprecedented.

Regarding Vitas has in incredibly high voice - wow - but for me personaly that's it - I don't like to listen to him. Dimash is not only his incredible vocal range fom C2 to !D8! neither is it his outstanding classical tecnique - You should watch some other performances by Dimash (Adagio, Unforgettable Day, Sinfull Passion, Late Autum... ) - it's how he incorporates different styles and emotional impact. His arrangements are a breath of fresh air that was not here before him.

Dimas is great and only he can compete with ... Dimash himself. And this is exactly what happens. He never stands still. He is constantly improving, looking for new colors in singing. And this is the main difference between Dimash and Vitas.

So, I like that you reacted to Dimash, but not comparing him with Vitas. This was one song, that Dimash sang on the Chinese "Singer" competition. It showed his incredible range and showmanship. It did not show the many other aspects of his talent. To me this is a novelty song. Dimash did it incredibly well, but it is not even close to being my favorite performance of his. Please react to his performance of "SOS" from the Slavic Bazaar 2018. It is a true masterpiece. And yes, Dimash sings live. There are a few less than perfect performances, when he's been sick, to prove it. Thanks for your thoughtful reaction.

With all due respect, could you change the title? Dimash has already got a lot of heat from Vitas fans because of this song. Please don't compare them especially on the title. You have just sparked an old "war" between their fans. Dimash sang this song in a competition called "Singer 2017". Just like every other competition, you have to sing LIVE (no lipsync) and have to sing other famous singers' songs. Some of vitas fans do not understand this and accuse Dimash of copying or taking vitas song and making it his own. There's a video (on the way of being viral) where Dimash has a lot of praises from people. Other people even compare the two singers and a lot of vitas fans now hate Dimash for this. So please... don't open an old wound. Thank you

The New Foundry Studios Yorkshire, I understand you were unaware of the whole background and that you had no bad intentions, however I never understand the need that people have to do such comparisons. To me it feels kind of unfair for both artists. After all, they both have fans who love them and listen to them. If it’s possible, I suggest that you change the cover’s title, it’s quite inflammable.

@@HonestVocalCoach Dimash sang songs and other singers, for example Lara Fabian - "Adagio". Lara heard and was pleasantly surprised and delighted with Dimash's vocals and personally congratulated Dimash. Vitas and his producers with envy filed a lawsuit in court when they heard that Dimash sang Opera-2. That is the difference between Lara and Vitas.

I do prefer the fuller, richer and somewhat "rounder" voice of Dimash in the lower parts where he also enunciates more. Both have excellent voice control and pitch. It's a matter of taste between the two, I guess....

Never into comparing singers as such. ( Both Singers are very good and skilled ) but in this case - for this song I would have to give it to Dimash. As Tungavidya commented below, Dimash has greater depth in his voice, more personality and his range - is out of this world !! I'm no vocal coach but I hear what I hear. Dimash is my pick. Rather than compare, enjoy each artist for what they bring. Dimash will continue to surprise you. Thank you for your reaction.

👍👍👍 No question, Dimash is the best. His voice is deeper, wider more expressive on the low notes, and more rounded and light on the high notes. Vitas’ voice is screechy and thin on the high notes with his resonance nearly lost. His low notes are yes crisp and clear but that’s it, not very appealing. Moreover, Vitas modulates once at the end while Dimash modulates three times. /from Dimash USA Fan Club

Vitas has one beautiful, excellent, pure voice. Dimash has about 5 complete, rich voices, which can stand on their own or mingle with each other. He has absolute, total control over them, and the combination gives him a rich, thriling orchestra of equipment, which he wields with an amazing skill and natural ability, trained since before he was 5 years old. Vitas has practiced, more than been trained, and he has chosen some odd but nevertheless entertaining vehicles for his abilities. I must admit that I'm somewhat negative toward Vitas because some people have tried to compare them in a competitive way. In fact, there are plenty of devoted fans for both of them---and thousands more, especially such loving and joy-creating people as these two. I hope both have long and illustrious careers and happy lives.

Recently, the Kazakh TV channel, which is located in the homeland of Dimash, invited both singers to the battle, to sing Opera 2 live on the same stage. Vitas accepted the challenge and agreed, but Dimash refused. this is all you need to know about who is confident in their abilities, and who questions them! I the know why Dimash refused, I, saw as both artists work and sing in live and honestly say, Dimash virtually on all parameters trails Vitas.

so I’m super sleepy, so I can’t create a whole comment, so I’ll just c/p something I posted on another reaction 😏 “yeah, that high part is supposed to be the wind (the song tells a story)... here’s some tea tho- apparently Vitas’ voice was enhanced for that part... somebody isolated it and you can hear him doing it an octave LOWER... 😮 so the funny part is that Dimash covered it for that competition he did in China, and not only did he do the key change, he went up two more times (and with the cutest smirk, naughty boy... lol) surpassing Vitas’ efforts, and, of course, without any doctoring... and the best part: rumor has it that Vitas’ legal team contacted Dimash and requested that he not perform the song live ever again! ha! smacks slightly of Mozart & Salieri 😄

Dimash all day long,vitas too harsh!! whats with the hooded string section? CREEPY!! I've only ever heard that 1 song from vitas, dimash sings all sorts, particularly on a chinese show called 'i am a singer'. The 1st performance I saw of dimash ever was in the 1st round of this competition & was a song called S.O.S which he sang in french (as its a french song), I was blown away, as i'm sure u'll be if you watch it. Although he is from kazakhstan,he sings in many languages,french,russian,chinese,english,kazak obviously! & he plays many instruments,piano & he's amazing on this little traditional kazakh banjo thingymajig (I know u'll get this as you're not far from me,i'm from leeds) U've got to watch more of him,whereas vitas seems to be somewhat a bit of a 1 trick pony. When dimash sings opera 2,its just his party piece,people always want him to do it,hence the 'showing off' as you put it,but in reality he's very quiet,shy & very humble,the opposite of vitas

It's a competition show for God sakes!!!! He came to slay and give it everything he's got and whip the audience into a complete frenzy to win the show!

"Opera 2", originally a song by Vitas. He has performed the song at many events since 2001 and that's why the quality of the videos (and thus, the audio) is not so high on RU-vid. Vitas is an established superstar known for these kinds of songs in Russia. Yet, Dimash is a young opera singer who became known mostly in his country Kazakhstan, after his cover of this exact song on a Chinese TV show of competition for singers. Obviously, his cover is a recent video on the platform with high quality of video and audio. So, Dimash has a lot to work on (career and achievements) before being compared to a superstar although he has that confidence, quality and most importantly potential even to be a bigger star.

Dimash's best performances are live and, lucky for us, he wants to sing live. He hates post-performance digital enhancements so what you hear is what he really can do.

Dimash gets my vote, without question. You only watched the beginning and the end. There was a lot of interesting stuff going on in between. Also, there was a mistake at the end of the video. It said "up 2 keys from the 1st chorus" at the end, when actually, Dimash went up 3 keys from the 1st chorus. Vitas went up 1 key from the 1st chorus.

I love Vitas I am not sure why they compare them other than Dimash seems to use most of Vitas music to show off his vocals. Vitas is a genius though that invented these songs helped produce them the stage shows and made it fun he is like the whole package. Dimash is a great imitator and I am sure if he can write music or hire writers to produce his own stuff he will be a legend one day as well. But for now I will stick with Vitas!

Both of them really amazing singers in their own way and in their own specific period of time... I was growing up with Vitas's songs and for me he is good in his own way and at that time he was incredible and unique singer. He released this song at 2001 and he was 22 years old, he was pretty popular in Russia but not for a long time as I remember... I think, same thing happend with Dimash, in his own country he wasn't very popular but he had better luck, 1st because he had a chance to be at this show in China and signed contract with music company there (in China) and 2nd, we live in another era =) we have the internet. People around the world can share music reactions and cheer up artists... So, for me Dimash sounds more professional and I think it obvious, but I don't want to offend anyone it's just how I see and hear...

I think vitas's voice sounds more unnatural, but the other guy sounds more like an opera singer, but overall I like how vitas sounds and the way his voice is a lot more consistant, and there is just something about his voice that sounds better and unnatural, while the other guy is just eh in comparison.

I would say that was unjust of you when putting the part of Dimash cut , I think that doesn't help the whole scene. Dimash can get more than 5 octaves and sings actionally deeper and longer in a very operalic way. Vitas is a big singer as well but reachs only 2 or 3 octaves and sings less deep and less long in the musical phrases. I prefer Dimash because he sings the low notes as good as the high notes.

Did you listen to all of dimash he can go from f2- d8 and he’s got a whistle note you must watch more of him if you watch all of the Chinese competition 2017 called the singer you will see his range

its like comparing the cover artist over the original artist... let me know when Dimash starts something new instead of a copy of what has already been done... its like saying Eddie Van Halen isn't a great guitarist because newer guitarists copy his style... the originals may not be the same as the newer cover artists but the originals started something that was worth copying... :P Dolly Parton wrote many songs that were covered later... such as I Will Always Love You which Whitney Houston covered... think about it... Dimash is a great artist but he did not start this trend... he probably could sing higher because he is doing all he can to improve his range.... Vitas might sing higher or Dimash might be singing higher... bottom line, Dimash is a great rival for this style of singing... are there any others singing like this? And by the way, Vitas is still singing and his range seems to have gotten even higher now too...

I don't usually like comparisons because each singer have their own foe & foul. However, since you had put it up, and after hearing Vitas sing, i noticed he has strained the song to his limits, just look at his face! On the other hand, Dimash has put life to the song and if you had played the full song, there is a part where the other contestants asked if he can go higher, he went even higher, and with ease too. But this song is actually nothing in comparison to other songs Dimash had done, just wait till you hear his Confesses & Diva Dance or his Screaming or Sinful Passion. But since you seem like a new reactor to Dimash, I would advice you start by following the Singer 2017 Episode 1 (SOS is one of his enchanting songs) to Episode 14 first.

Evidence that Vitas, the man behind 7th Element and Opera N2, appears to be a fraud. This may sound harsh. I've enjoyed his music for years so it's not something I enjoy suggesting. Now I'm not saying that he can't sing. What I am saying is that he seems to intentionally mislead people into thinking that he is singing live. Consider this: A man who suspected him of faking his live performances supposedly placed a hidden recorder on his microphone. This man has apparently done it with other singers who were later proven to use playback, despite their claims to the contrary. Vitas is better in my opinion. While he may lack the baritone and some depth in his voice, Dimash overexcentrates his opera and baritone voice. Having a clear, crisp singing voice with little quake is actually really, really difficult which is something Vitas easily accomplishes. But, although I prefer Vitas, Dimash has a really beautiful and unique voice. It just depends if you prefer a clear sounding voice or not.

All Odessa ran to the theater to listen to Vitas when he still did not know how to hold a microphone in his hands! In this theater he was noticed by his future producer whose jaw dropped seeing what Vitas can do with his voice! Vitas is also a genius as a composer! He was the first to show that a high note can be not just the decoration of a song, but the song itself!!! Stop driving at Vitas, bitches!

Comparisons are not good always, unless we want to compare a pair of shoes to buy. Comparing people, humm..not so wise. BUT, as a vocal coach and authority in the vocal field that you are, I was really hoping you state who was better. We, as fans of either one, will tend to lean towards our favorite side always.

I like Vitas more than Dimash in this song. For Dimash this is really high note becouse he is baritone. Vitas do it more affortlessly and clearly. Dimash do couplets more low and juice, but we all now that we are here for a chorus. And there is a big gap in technology of recording. Try new Vitas performance in 2020 with Opera 2.

Vitas is using different register, that's why his tone changes at high notes. Go read a book about singing or something

Dimash is obviously the better singer, but not only because of this video. Vitas is not such a GREAT singer, at least I haven't seen anything live that makes me think so, but he is crazy innovative and iconic as an artist. In fact we all have seen Dimash mimicking some Vitas moves.
