Dominican here from the States. Glad you discovered these two Dominican artists Beth! They are both huge in the Hispanic community. Juan Luis Guerra is very well recognized in the Dominican Republic and has a very unique style in his Merengue and Bachata. His track record is amazing. Same for Romeo but he came a bit after and started off in a Group called Aventura which was also HUGE and mainly known for their Bachata records. Whenever a DJ played Aventura in a club, everyone would hit the dance floor no questions asked. I remember when this performance was released to the public. Man, it was so good! Happy to see you enjoyed it. Still one of my favorite songs. I remember walking thru a neighborhood in Santo Domingo... Juan Luis was on TV and everyone was watching ... all the way to the Bodega I heard the entire interview.. the only time Santo Domingo was soo quiet 😆 🤣

We had Elvis .. UK had the Beetles D.R. Has Juan Luis! 25 or so Grammys ... His lyrics and the fact that he sings just as good as the recordings... Most crowds in any country can sing the entire song.... Every Song! Juan Luis is one of the greatest musicians. He graduated from Berklee Music School in Boston... Many grammy awards have gone to many Alumni

I grew up listening Juan Luis Guerra. I remember perfectly well being 12 years old and playing him in during entire summers in Spain... I am now 43, have three nationalities and spent over 25 years travelling the world. I am listening this from Australia and my first reaction was to see if, by any chance, he plans any concerts anywhere not too far from here. That was one of my favorite songs of his. This video was just wonderful, thanks a lot Beth.

Hi Beth. I just found out this video on your channel, and it was laughing when you mentioned the crowd cheers when Romeo appeared. I was at that concert in Santo Domingo back in 2012 and it was exactly like that, the audience got crazy and I barely could hear the rest of the song. Everybody dancing and screaming! I liked your video and hope you continue enjoying and sharing great music with your followers.

Hi Beth, I'm so glad you finally reacted to Romeo. I'm English and he is my absolute favourite artist. He has done more to bring bachata to the mainstream than any other artist, even more than Juan. I'd love for you to react to some of Romeo's own music, either his solo stuff or with his group Aventura. We saw him live at Wembley Arena in London 3 years ago and he was amazing! I recommend reacting to Mi Corazoncito (live) by Aventura in the Dominican Republic. I would be so grateful if you could! I can recommend so many amazing Latin artists if you want more. Yes, it is very rare to even have heard of Romeo here in the UK if you're outside the Latin Community, which I am, but there's a handful of us gringos here who love him😂 he sold out his tour here in 2014 and 2018 but I think most of the audience were Latino. I found him because he came up on my recommendations on RU-vid about 5 years ago because I had already been listening to other Latin music. I fell in love immediately. God bless youtube! Which part of the world are you in? 💕

@@LatinMusicFansUKthat is so cool. It surprises me that people from other latitudes like this music, some times we think it would be too "foreign" or strange to non-trained listeners hahahaha. I'm from the Dominican Republic. I have plans to visit the UK some day, I always dreamed of walking in London, also I find Scotland to be so beautiful I definitely dream of going there since I was younger. Have you ever thought about visiting the Dominican Republic? If you haven't I recommend it to you (I know I'm biased lol) since this is paradise.

We have some beautiful cities and countryside here, but we don't get the warm weather unfortunately!
