Vocal Coach REACTS to PARK HYOSHIN - WILDFLOWER 

I feel the pain in his voice when he sings this song. I lost my grandmother..who was my mom, a few months ago. Every time I hear these songs and these lyrics I can't help but to cry too. It's like..when you lose someone..you lose a part of yourself too. Until the day we can all bloom together :)

He is considered one of the best male vocalist in Korea. I mean, he just supported a C5 (!!) which for a guy is quite high and is already on top of their range. The deepness of his voice is also something that confuses people. Some people says he's a baritone but in actuality he is not. He's a tenor but not the common light-lyric tenors. He is definitely a Full-lyric tenor which gives him that fuller and deeper sound. This song is also very meaningful to him. If I remember correctly, he wrote this, together with the pianist (which explains why he was so passionate playing the thing) when they were in the Korean military. It's about the pianist losing a friend and Park Hyoshin's life story. Hyoshin has had a rough past. Growing up, and when he was a younger artist. He had some issues with his management company. Disagreements that resulted to him being bankrupt. Thanks for reaching to this! It's gorgeous! Also, I'd recommend reacting to another Korean singer called Taeyang. He has this specific performance in a competition called Fantastic Duo where he did a duet with a fan and it's the most amazing thing! Perhaps one of the best duets I've heard ever! Hahaha. Since I noticed that you are checking every comment left on this video, I cannot help correcting some fact about the reason he cried. I saw the comment saying he was crying because he was underrated when he debuted. But, it is not ture. First and foremost, he is never underrated since he debuted. Second, He mentioned through an interview that whenever he sing this song it reminds him the period he was conscripted and served the army. (2011-2012) During the time, He had legal troubles with his management agency and the court's decision sided with the agency. (it charged him about 3,000,000,000 won = 3 million dollars.) Actually, he had struggled ever since he signed a contract, 2006 for instance, he couldn't afford to rent a place to practice because agency didn't pay him. And the agency forced him to perform a lot, sometimes he noticed that he have to perform several concerts right next month through an internet article which means,,,, they also have a communication problem. He even collapsed few times while preparing these unreasonable schedule. he got spasmodic dysphonia after that. So he broke the contract with his agency, and of course agency sued him. That's why he was charged a lot of money after. Anyway, he even lost his house by a compulsory auction(?) (I mean, the auction which selling someone's belongings when they couldn't able to pay the bill.) while he was in the army, and after the discharge, he filed for bankruptcy. After few years, he found new agency, And this song is the first song released after all of this. (2015) So.. that's why he became so emotional when he sing this song. .... can you understand what I wrote..? English is so hard ........

Just to note. South Korea is blessed with amazing singers. The country is full of talent, but Park Hyo Shin is no doubt the best. I have listened to practically every song he has ever sung - including English covers and South Korean covers. He can do just about anything .. that is what is amazing about his voice. It is very uncommon that an artist can do any genre and sing in any key or style. He is specially gifted.

This song, and this man, Park Hyo Shin, literally changed my life over a year ago. His music healed my soul. His passion, his hardships, his artistry, and his whole story turned me into leading a possitive lifestyle. That's how powerful he is. And thank you for taking time to listen and appreciating his art. It's so nice to see many people loving his music, and finally appreciating him after 19 years of hardships and struggles.

Yes Park Hyo Shin is one of the best singers in the korean industry. This song in particular is my favorite especially when he sings it live. But you know and can feel what he is singing. This song never fails to make me teary-eyed. PHS is the best. The pianist is actually his close friend and the co-writer of this song from what i remember. No mobile phones on their hands because this show is very strict with no filming. This is a TV show, to prevent spoilers they even collect your phones and cameras if they catch you bringing them.

Wow how much i wanted to see others listening to Park Hyoshin

He and the pianist wrote the song. The song is somewhat autobiographical in that he is the wildflower in the song. When he started out, his agency overworked him to the point that he got sick and when he tried to get out of his contract screwed him up financially to the point that he wanted to quit music. I think that's why he can put so much emotion in his performance of this song. There is a live performance of this son in RU-vid where his emotions got to him and he broke down in tears on stage. So you can see this song means a lot to him.

Park Hyoshin is just amazing. And I love that you mentioned how entranced the audience is...I lived in Korea for a little while, and in my experience Koreans as a culture really deeply appreciate music. There's a reason noraebang (karaoke) is so very popular--pretty much everyone loves music, and singing. Some really great artists can flourish in that environment! One singer that gets a huge amount of respect in Korea that isn't much mentioned overseas is Sandeul (main vocalist of the group B1A4). If you want to check him out I'd advise his performance of 'The Two Of Us' from B1A4's Amazing Store Concert. He was about 22-23 years old at that time, and even though he's somehow gotten BETTER since (???) he was something incredible then too. (I was lucky enough to be at that concert and let me tell you--live he is amazing live. All the 12-year-old girls in the audience had a religious experience) And he performed that well near the end of a three-hour concert. I have so much respect for K-pop singers.

Without fail I cry every time I hear this song. Knowing what he went to prior to writing it and knowing what this song means to me personally. He truly is an artist worth admiring and he is such a beautiful soul.

I'm always amazed at his, Lee Hongki's and Hwang Chiyeul's live vocals. They are definitely my favourite korean singers right now. I adore how captivating their voices are :D
