This program name is sketchbook. Idol or singer sing 2, 3 songs in this program. But that day Sketchbook broadcasted Hyoshin special day. So he sang 13 song in 2hour. It is very rare case in this program.

A little background story Park hyo shin produced this song, he identifies as the Wild Flower and describes his long & extensive struggles to recover from the painful loss of his music AND hope, ending with his vow/hope to resurrect/bloom again. Though he was labelled as kpop singer early in his career, nowadays he's more recognized as an artist (vocalist/songwriter). His younger years and entire music career had been fraught with incredible difficulties survived it all alone & multiple times through several agencies, was forced to file for bankruptcy, plus endured debilitating health (including vocal) injuries from extreme exhaustion and personal losses (his closest friend/supporter through suicide). Park Hyoshin is an absolute legend in South Korea, he's like Celine Dion level in that people can trust his performance to be perfect every time and he is very well loved for his emotion and skill when singing. You should react to other songs from him!

the reason he cries while singing this song is because it was when he was writing this song, he had to go through the painful times of fighting with the company and getting sued. so he ended up in fraud with millions of money and also had to praise on his closest friend who died during those time thats why this song is his most painful and sad song to him. wild flower is a song that actually helped him with the frauds and also a meaning of 2nd life to him so hope you all understand why he has to cry :(

Sam, you recently react to all the good stuff!! Park Hyo Shin is one of my absolute favorite artists. 'Wildflower' is that kind of song I often listen to when I feel low and troubled. After listening to it I have that feeling as if all the bad things I had in my mind suddenly disappeared. Very 'healing' song. haha To sum up my rumbling I just really like this artist. :D Btw from some facts, he's considered as one of the best Korean vocalists, known for his great technique and emotional vocals.

I would like to add, too, that he has amazing stamina as a singer - all singers I've seen covering this song (and there are many) have to take a breath before hitting the big C, but he never does. Besides being a Pop/R&B singer-songwriter, PHS is also a well-known musical actor, which has transformed his breathing and diction. And for me, the sheer gorgeousness of his voice is singular - no one sounds like that. I must say this though, because there is so much wrong information about the song and the singer in the comments. Park Hyo Shin is one of the top singers and artists in the Korean music industry, with a career spanning 19 years and counting. He co-composed Wild Flower with his very close friend Jung Jae Il (the accompanist here) when they were both in the army, and co-wrote the lyrics with another lyricist. The "wild flower" is a metaphor for Park Hyo Shin himself, who had experienced much hardship both with his voice and his agencies right before he entered the army - hardships that almost broke him down and made him want to stop doing music, but as this song states, he has bloomed again. His first comeback song after the army in 2014, it went straight to the top of the Korean charts and was one of the longest-charting Korean songs ever, and has since become a classic. Park Hyo Shin and Jung Jae Il were invited by the Korean government to perform the song for a state dinner with the Korean and U.S presidents during Trump's visit to Korea last year. Jung Jae Il is also a master figure - he's considered a musical genius, has work spanning genres from traditional Korean music to film score, and can play like 10 instruments. Just some context about Park Hyo (pronounced more "he-yo" in one syllable) Shin, is that he's one of South Korea's "4 Vocal Kings", along with Kim Bum Soo, Naul, and Lee Soo, all of whom are probably the most famous ballad singers. If you enjoyed this ballad, I would also highly recommend Naul's Memory of the Wind. You don't even have to react/review it, I hope you can maybe have a few moments to listen to it. It's one of the most covered ballad songs in South Korea, based on how many covers are found on RU-vid, but it's more rare to find Naul do a live version of it. The one that I could find is an older one and I'm not sure the audio quality would give you a very good listen into Naul anyways. Cheers! Yes Park Hyo Shin is one of the best singers in the korean industry. This song in particular is my favorite especially when he sings it live. But you know and can feel what he is singing. You will come to a better understanding when you read about his story. It is so touching. It makes the already perfect performance that much better.

Park Hyo Shin is seriously one of the most amazing vocalists in Korea. Wildflower is a song that never ages. It is like a story of perseverance and kind of a letter he wrote to himself when he was going through problems with his company and his voice. Which is why he cries about 9/10 times he sings the songs. there is only one live performance I have watched of him singing this song where he doesn't cry and the other 9 times he controls his voice so well even though he is filled with emotions. Seriously my all time favourite vocalist. I'm always in tears when he sings this song

I've done several vocal performances where I have cried on stage. It is almost impossible to cry and sing well at the same time. Very rarely was I ever able to do it. 박효신 is one of the greatest singers I've had the pleasure of listening to. Watching this was an incredible experience and I'm happy you got to see it too, Sam.

Best ballad vocalist in the world. No one comes close. Yes, Dimash the best pop-op vocalist but when it comes to pure celestial ballads, Par Hyoshin the best. He’s 38 and a living legend. When he announces an upcoming concert it is SOLD OUT SRO in less than 15 minutes ( 50,000 screaming fans and in some songs the audience e participates and sings along).i have watched hundreds of his performances and he never fails to move me to my depths. He actually changed his singing technique over the years (in interviews he says so) so even to my untrained ear you can hear a difference in his older songs (snow flower, standing in that place, what are friends for etc) versus the new ones. Park hyoshin is another of my favorite kpop solo artists he is so amazing. If you have the time and want to hear more of his singing, he was in the korean phantom of the opera musical(its very hard to find videos of it though) but wow its so great. He has a very nice list of songs that are absolutely beautiful too just like this song. He always surprises me with his voice. He rarely sings in lives like this and its such a shame everyone should hear his voice its so great.

Incase you wondered why was he so emotional in this it’s because He had a lot of troubles with his company a lot of overworking and problems so was struggling with alot and was later diagnosed with spasmodic dysphonia, and wild flower was a huge comeback after 4 years of being away. This song is so close to his heart because it shows his deep appreciation for music and represents the hardships he has gone through. So The song -Lyrically is a metaphor for the tumultuous life Park Hyo-shin has had. The wild flower blooms in the winter, facing all the harshness of the cold. While it may wilt, it will bloom again despite all the struggles it faces. In the metaphor, “winter” is all the harsh realities that he has had to face. He is constantly facing his past, which causes him to struggle. However, like the wild flower, Park holds on until the past is no longer holding him back. Park is blooming again through his music. He was in the industry for 19 years!

That song made me cry even before I look up the lyrics, thats how effective he is as a singer. His emotions from his voice can be felt.

This song has some insanely high notes to sing with a full sound, however he does it with such relaxation that even the high C doesn`t sound so high, no struggling at all.
