Anna always says If u Feel pain stop but I never stopped because I was focusing on improving my voice because people always said I can never sing and now my voice sounds amazing and the pain I felt at the beginning of the vocal rehearsals as now gone.. thanks Anna .

first time commenter lol So I have been using your west end warm up for quite a while and I love it and I've not long been using these daily lessons and I've only gone and got myself an agent! I am mainly an all round performer, trained originally in cotemporary dance and more of a self taught singer and actress but work professionally in everything! Thank you so much Anna. I sing in a blues based hard rock band, singing in a range of styles from artists like Stevie Ray Vaughn through to screaming rock numbers from Led Zeppelin and ACDC. Good morning to you both. Further to my last comment. I have just finished this same video again and I am so pleased - because I am still getting TOP C (with no discomfort afterwards, just a yearning to start on the songs), but I can hold it as well now. My hubby has noticed a difference too - he says he could hear me reach it before, but then almost instantly my voice tightened up and now it is "keeping open". I hope my comments help other people. I am singing Phantom of the Opera with much more strength nowadays, and can sing the "Ah's" at the end which used to bother me! My thanks to you as always. xx

Hello again both of you. I am getting Top C now (have managed a number of times now). Used to be more of a screamy type of sound but I am getting "over" the note instead of just "up to it". I am Mezzo so I am really training myself to increase my range more and more. So I hope I am doing this correctly. I am enthralled! I get so much confidence from this now. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'll be getting on stage to perform the role of Judas on 'Jesus Christ Superstar' in three weeks. I have gone through many, many videos and channels on RU-vid. Verba is my favourite, and I can feel myself improve and get more confident. I still shudder at the sound of my own singing voice, and I still choke up, but I'll take it a day at a time. Ok, this was the most fun and funniest vid so far (I knew there had to be outtakes). Haha I usually don't like singing after 9pm, and then you had to say "you're neighbors are gonna hate you". I knew they were in for it. haha I really like these exercises and they were the toughest yet. Going back to "pretty melody" exercises, like the sweet one at the 3:45 mark, it got me thinking of the gorgeous ending of the Beach Boys song You Still Believe in Me. It's the reason why I want to sing. ;) Thanks!

I know I've told you both before about getting to hit Top C. Well it's still there (SO PLEASED!) but you know what? It doesn't FEEL as high as it did when I first hit it. I think (I HOPE) it's because it's got easier for me to reach now. I know I am still getting to it, because I am matching you - not bragging, just letting you know I am "in there". Wow, amazingly helpful! I've only ever received training to sing 'legit' and have just guessed and pretended at how to belt (yet I do tons of musical theater...oops!). I did these exercises into a folded up duvet so that my neighbors wouldn't be bothered (but also so that I don't clamp down on my own sound just because it's ugly). All of your exercises and warm-ups have helped me prepare for my next show where a high C# is going to happen multiple times a day :-O. Thanks Anna! Also: LOVE the outtakes! hee hee ^_^

"A Little Mermaid" (based on the original, not Disney)...the mermaid sisters do a gospel-style song about the grandma mermaid (me) who gives 'Words of Wisdom'. It's call and response with tons of ad lib...and high C# at the end. Whew! :-D

Week 2 :D Doing days 2-4 on one day because I've missed them. On the first exercise my voice wavered a bit then after hearing u say I have to hit the G harder I did it again and the sound was much better.

I love it but I was wondering about the siren warm up exercise, how can I avoid a break in my voice when I switch from chest voice to head voice? Hi anna! I do more hours because I'm an older adult. If I want to be able to sing before I'm an old lady I have to work harder. I had to take a small break once because my voice got very hoarse from singing a lot. My friend is a music producer and he told me I had to take a break and now Im back into it and better.
