Most of the Voctave singers have performed at Disney World for years as "Voices of Liberty" so they are well acquainted with the Disney catalog. The soprano you are obsessing over (black shirt) is Kate Lott who is some kind of supernatural, not actually human at all.
The younger guy singing next to JC Fullerton, bass baritone, is Jamey Ray (a tenor actually😂) he's the one who does all the astonishing arrangements and creator of Voctave
That's Kate Lott singing 1st soprano for Voctave. She's ridiculous and regularly busts out C6 and higher notes effortlessly in every Voctave song I've listened to. Voctave is definitely worth a watch and I'd recommend their other Disney work or the Great Movie Medley moving forward.
Aaaahhhhhh Voctave! Pros at work! The voice clarity, the diction, the nuances, the precision, the enthusiasm. **sigh**. Yes, it’s all good. You have to react to their Great Movie medley, an hommage to John Williams music. It brought me to tears. Your reaction pretty much mirrors mine. 🤗
Thanks! Still celebrating your anniversary 🥳…and what better way than to revisit your first introduction to Voctave..and such a great reaction and a chance for you to display your nerdy Acapella knowledge..#eargasm! What a beautiful journey you’ve had and we’ve had the pleasure of being part of it..☺️❤️‼️
There's a behind the scenes of this video where Kirstie and Jeremy just look at each other and shake their heads when the soprano (Kate Lott) hits her high notes...it's quite funny seeing as how Kirstie has a pretty high voice herself :) You have to watch Voctave like four times to catch half of it !! O Come all ye faithful with EJ Cardona taking the lead is outstanding.... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CljN1YIxHiI.html
Great vibes!. For other incredible voctave performances I also recommend "O Come, All Ye Faithful", "Mary, Did You Know" and "Disney Princess Medley". For Pentatonix check out "Say Something", "La La Latch" and "Love Again" as well as their collabs with Todrick Hall ("The Wizard of Ahhhs") and Lindsey Stirling ("Radioactive")!
As I understand it, Jeremy and Voctave's founder Jamey Ray, are friends. Jeremy knew Kirsten was a big fan and arranged this as a surprise for her. There is a short video of the practice of this and they have to stop because Kirsten and Jeremy are so busy listening to Kate Lott's effortless high notes they forget their cues. You can see Jeremy shaking his head in amazement. The wonderful Tiffany Coburn is the taller soprano and is very active in the Christian recording community. Thank you for an informed and genuine reaction.
YAY, thank you so much for responding to my suggestion and reacting to this amazing musical treat for the ears! I LOVED your awe-filled and enthusiastic reaction just about as much as I love watching Tiffany's (soprano in grey) joyful approach to each and every song she sings. As you noticed all the Voctave singers are amazing in their own right - I will say often the guys don't get as much recognition as they should, they are also fantastic. Other's have already told you about Kate Lott (the insanely high soprano). I'm guessing you'll be listening to this again to catch even more nuances, if so, listen again to Kate's final note - I love how the arrangement lets her shine first, then they join in the big note, and she then goes even higher. Watch Jeremy's expression every time the sopranos go high - his amazement matches yours - LOL! Something else to listen for is that Jeremy begins his final note before everyone else; amazing breath control. 😲 There's so much more to say but I'll leave that to your next Voctave reaction - so excited for you to see more! To see just Voctave on their own (with 2 additional amazing members) check out their Disney Princess Medley (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aBCukAJwKN0.html) featuring the ladies; and Disney Showstoppers (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cculZZLY6z4.html) featuring the men. More great suggestions and Voctave reactions to come. 🎧👍🏼
QoFyReacts Truly a “wow” moment! I should add they have some wonderful Christmas arrangements and two of their absolute best are O Come, All Ye Faithful and Mary, Did You Know (this featured Mark Lowry who wrote the lyrics - you will note he is sitting down because he has MS). Can’t wait to see those reactions! 😲🎵👍
QoFyReacts I see a “blocked video” and when I tried to play your reaction to Mary, Did You Know, it says I cant play it in my country (Canada 🇨🇦). Darn! I saw it was 18 minutes and figure your reaction was epic. I’m sorry I missed it. 😕 I’m sure you enjoyed it and hope others will be able to view it. 🤔
The man in the dark red shirt is Jamie Ray who arranges the music for Voctave. He also arranges some of the music for Pentatonix that’s where you get the connection with Kirsten and Voctave.
Kirstie has a background in musical theatre. If you haven't yet, check out The Wizard of Ahs that Pentatonix did with Toddrick Hall. He does a lot of Disney parodies with many groups, singers
Voctave is AMAZING!! I am so glad you discovered them. Try out This is My Wish and Oh come all ye Faithful...These really focuses on E.J. (My fave). Oh!!!! But first do their great movie medley!!!!
I love this song , I get goosebump every time and your energy takes it to another level !! I love your enthusiasm and the knowledge of music , it makes a comment so much more fun to watch :) !! I love Voctave , they have that beautiful Disney sound . Maybe a suggestion , compare the same song of different acapella/voval groups in one reaction :) ? For example "Mary Did You Know " , sung by PTX and by Voctave ( feat. Mark Lowry , the original songwriter and a must see )! Because the different styles of acapella/vacal groups like Voctave, PTX, HF, Voiceplay and others, one song can have such a different vibe ! LOVED your reaction ( as always :) ) !!
I second the suggestion for "Mary, Did You Know?" with Mark Lowry and Voctave. Their soprano, Kate Lott, has some of the best voice control that I've ever heard and the performance is incredible. Beware, though, because Voctave is another rabbit hole. You've been warned! Thanks for the reaction.
I know this is an old reaction, but I had to comment. I hope you see it! I'm a new subscriber, and I've enjoyed ALL your reactions. Your excitement and appreciation for what you hear is infectious (in a good way)! I have to think this was your first exposure to Voctave. I've just recently learned of them, and I'm blown away. They are a different 'experience' than the smaller a cappella groups, but they are amazing! Anyway, you were SO blown away by Voctave that I was chuckling along during this reaction. Your facial expressions were priceless!!!
You hit the nail on the head, Voctave has the Disney sound because they performed at Disney World. We all agree Kirsten should be a future Disney Princess.
Checking out your playlists. Saw one for Kirsti. In honor of her announcement today of the birth of her daughter, Eliana Violet, I couldn't resist watching them again. You're the best QoFy ❤️🎶✨💗🌺😇
Welcome to the wonderful world of Voctave! If I could recommend their ‘Carol of the Bells of Notre Dame’. It’s one of my favourites and I don’t feel that it gets enough love.
Oh this is the guy that Kirstie was engaged to for awhile but they broke up. This must have been while they were engaged because she has a ring on her finger and the looks they keep giving each other.😍🤣
Someone mentioned Mary Did You Know with Mark Lowry who wrote the Lyrics & Buddy Green composed the music ! Really touching !! Also O Come All Ye Faithful...highlight a tenor that will make you exclaim "ARE KIDDING ME ??"
@@QofyReacts Have you done their version of O Come, All Ye Faithful yet? If not, put it on your "must do" list - I'm loving re-watching your reaction to this one. You're smiling the whole way through. This is the power of Voctave.
Yep, another one of my go to groups ... They're amazing! Welcome to another rabbit hole... Oh, and for their bass, check out You're a Mean One Me. Grinch, if my mind serves me right
I listen to Voctave when my asthma is under control...otherwise forget about breathing !!! And the people that create these arrangements...👏👏👏👏..are u kidding me !!?? Enuf said !!!
This is my first time listening to Voctave and I think they were amazing!!! I really loved this performance!! 😍 And you're right, this was choral a capella. I identified very strongly with this because my early musical training was choral. I was part of my school choir for 5 years and I can relate to its strictness, which may be why sometimes I really do not like certain singing techniques from popular music singers. I loved your reaction and analysis, as always!!! Thanks for sharing!! See you in the next video!!
Their great movie Medley (I think that's why it's called anyway?) is really amazing. The girl that goes crazy high really shines in that one. Another great reaction!
I enjoyed someone giving Voctave their due. As far as purity in singing and voices, they are on top of the mountain for me. I love Home Free and PTX but Voctave is a different animal.
They filmed this separately from recording it, at least for one of the positions. (You can see that in one position, the two leads' stands face each other, and in the other, they angle towards the front.) Kurt, Voctave's baritone, actually sang on this song but couldn't be there for the video recording. So it's JC holding down the bass part with Kurt helping out a bit on some of the notes he can hit well. Insane power from one small dude.
In my humble opinion, The singing was incredible but the mixing was bad. The back ground singers incredible as they were, completely overpowered the two lead singers who were incredible in their own right. If you invite someone to sing a lead part you should at least give them the opportunity to be heard above the background.
