In this masterclass, professor Antoine Palloc is accompanied Itamar Hildesheim who will be singing the first aria "Se il mio nome" from Rossini's "The Barber of Seville". Professor Antoine Palloc begins the class by congratulating Itamar while emphasizing the importance of breath control, phrasing, and emoting while singing. He aims to help his student gain a deeper understanding of the score and perform with greater freedom and expression, as well as practicing the pronunciation of the lyrics. Professor Palloc remarks that the aria's simplicity requires somehow balancing upper tones and lower tones. He also stresses the importance of taking breaths wherever it makes sense in the context of the lyrics. Overall, one should really understand the character's plea before taking his voice.

- Breathing through the nose might help concentration,
- Don't prepare the end of phrases,
- Well placed consonants keep the voice up,
- Practice pronunciation before and after practice!
- Here, one needs to find a balance between registers.
