This was a chinese show for highly respected singers to compete, Dimash was the only non Chinese singer invited because the producer saw him perform for the Chinese and Kazakh presidents and was very impressed. He is from Kazakhstan is 6ft 3, 1/4 and was the youngest ever competitor in 2017 at only 22 years old. This was his first performance on the show and the audience went wild for him. When the show was broadcast on tv he had to have bodyguards for the first time in his life as he had become a superstar overnight in China. He is now a world class artist, still just turned 26 on the 24th of May but touring the world to sell out arenas with his solo concerts, (on hold until next year due to covid-19) he also performs in concerts with the famous russian composer Igor Krutoy, is constantly collecting awards, attends many prestigious red carpet events, film festivals and even models for lots of high end fashion houses. He is university trained in Classical opera vocals to degree level, also holds a degree in contemporary pop music and jazz with a major in vocals, and now has finished his master degree in music composition with a top mark of 100%. He has been having singing lessons from the age of 5 when his teacher noticed he had perfect pitch . He was offered a place at the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but respecfully turned it down to persue his own more contemporary musical career. He is a multi instrumentalist, more than 8 instruments and also sings in 12 different languages and has a range of over 6 octaves from a low bass A2 to a high soprano, plus a whistle register with his highest note so far being a 5 second D8 with vibrato. He is widely recognized as the best vocalist in the world. He speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is studying English and Mandarin and has conversational skills in both but not quite fluent yet. He is kind, humble, generous and modest, a very elegant, well bought up young man. His Dears are his very loyal fans and we number over 70 fan clubs in 120 countries globally and number in the millions, he calls us Dears because we are so dear to him. I think you will soon be one of us Dears. Please keep reacting to this amazing young man, he truly is the best vocalist, performer and all round decent human being on the planet. Trust me ❤🇰🇿

Dimash is a master storyteller and painter through his singing. He's not merely a singer.

It really didn't take you long to understand everything that we are the fans love about Dimash. That's one of the reasons why SOS is often recommended as the first video to watch of his, because he does a little bit of everything that he is known to do in it. Plus is the first ever song that he came out with internationally.

He don't do a little bit of everything. He is good and strong in all....but not every song/performances calls for them... because he has great intelligence and sensitivity in music.....he don't 'overdo' nor 'under do' his music and vocals. He applies them appropriately.

this is so critical to understanding (if that's even possible) the talents of dimash! everyone tries to confine him to a certain voice type & *he is all the types* he doesn't follow the rules as frustrating as that may be for some singers to accept. i've seen so many try to classify him & seriously, there's just no point except to say he's dimash, a voice type of his own! :)

Unfortunately there is no one like Dimash at this point in time, he's been classically and contemporary trained over 15 plus years. His mother is an Opera Singer, he was 23 in this clip. His stage presence is insane, he goes into character and tells a story through his music. Keep up the good work and hello from Australia

So glad you've finally reacted to Dimash, and thanks for your analysis :) He's classically trained but sings in multiple genres and styles, and his lower register has improved so much since that 2017 performance. Definitely check out more from Dimash's official youtube channel, including Your Love and Olimpico/Ogni Pietra (both composed for Dimash), Love is Like a Dream (most of it is sung in his lowest register), Know/Vocalise (lots of improv/scat singing), Sinful Passion, and Passione. Enjoy the journey!

Yes, his range was growing from 2017 till now ! In the present his extreme vocals are A1 (Love is like a dream in several concerts) and D8 (Unforgettable Day in Gakku concert), even some people would consider that these are exceptions, he shows us he is very confortable along over 7 octaves now, and there are a lot of songs with 4 to 6 octaves in the same performance ! By the way he was studiing from 5 years old, it was a very very hard work and now he finalized his third master (as a composer in may 2020, after his masters in 1. opera and 2. in pop, jazz and rock) ! Probably I may not be so objective because I consider to be one of his "dears" from 2017 !

Adam Lambert is great, but he can't even dream of being in the same league as Dimash! Trust me, this is only about 15% of what Dimash can do!! His range is A1(with fry)- D8. Yes I said D8, and that's what is confirmed. We dears believe it could actually be higher.

What I love so much about this is you can her how his timbre changes while he's holding a note during the huge ascending line at the climax. He's not just changing between each note, but changing his resonance during the notes themselves to create this super fluid movement through each register. And he's hitting every note dead on at the same time.

Greetings to the owner and guests of this channel…! And my heartfelt gratitude to the reactors worldwide and commentators of this channel for your great help and service, so that artists can improve and or develop their talents and gifts at their best in order to serve better the listening public. I still browse the music videos of Dimash from time to time to see what still store in there. I’m just wondering how much effort and strength Dimash had invested into it and to reach such a powerful voice and the many other talents that he had. Indeed it is really a great work. How he was able to develop such a heights of his talents is really admirable and worth learning. And it is much more beautiful because he sang it by heart, naturally and at his heart’s content with joyful disposition. The discipline, dedication and high ideals in pursuing his career the best he can is worth imitating not only in our individual professional fields but also in living our day to day life. Hope his viewers worldwide especially the young will learned from his optimistic views in pursuing his professional fields to the optimum level especially his confidence, creativity and perseverance. His labors and hard work are now indeed bearing fruits in abundance. And so my heartfelt congratulations to Dimash and his family and all others who supported him all the way through as a musician. For me as a listener it counts a lot the personal disposition of the artist and the content of its music. The power and beauty of his voice is so incredible even at his lowest and highest notes. Also the fact that, he is able to sing his music at maximum or more than 6 octaves with ease and comfort in different languages and in various voices is really amazing. But some others also cannot handle and cannot even believe the power, the strength and the heights of his voice…and they said oooh… is Dimash human..? Alien..? I think It’s just a natural reaction that people wonder and probably surprise by it or cannot even believed it at all, it’s because it is beyond human expectation. But I believed and I’m convinced that Dimash 21 year’s cultivation of his voice and talents is no tricks and no magic at all; though he is gifted by God with grace for music but his years of hard work of practice and experiences proved it to us and to the world … that indeed it is possible. My other concerns whenever I listen to music is that, I usually ask: WHAT MESSAGE THIS MUSIC BRINGS ..? TO THE WORLD..? TO PEOPLE..? Although Dimash music are very good, full of content and meaning but I like most this music, because for me it speaks a message of truth, values and realities of human life. I feel that, it is not just enough to give my thumbs up to like this music, but I’m deeply moved to share something more about the richness and deeper meaning of it. With due respect to the composers, writers and singers of these music for whatever their purpose and intention would be, will always take precedence. The thoughts that I will be sharing below about these music is only the fruits of my personal reflections based on the things that I highly valued and on how I perceived it myself and the message of this song that reaches out to me. To all the readers my great apology for this lengthy piece. If you think these are all helpful you can share it to others as you please, I do really appreciate it. Or maybe you might have a different reflection experience of this music than mine; you can always revisit this music or other music of Dimash on line. Your personal critique to this comments are always valuable. SONG OF DIMASH IN FRENCH “S.O.S D’UN TERRIEN EN DETRESSE” (Ester Rabi’s Commentary & Reflection on this song: I like this music because it reminds me the Truth, Realities and Precariousness of Human Life particularly Suffering and Death) STORY BEHIND THE SONG : The song is from French Rock Opera called Starmania. Originally it was sung by Daniel Balavoine who had a sudden death in a helicopter accident in 1986, who is known of his beautiful voice. Later, it was covered by Gregory Lemarchal, a young French singer who inspired Dimash to sing “SOS d'un terrien en detresse” who at all odds won the 4th series Reality TV Program Star Academy, despite his failing health and became an overnight success in France but had a shorter career, for he died young with his unusual illness of Cystic Fibrosis in 2007 at the age of 23. Recently it was unbelievably covered by Dimash and from time to time Dimash sung it in memory of his great friend Denis Ten an Olympic figure skater from Kazakhstan who was stabbed after a dispute with people who allegedly tried to steal a mirror from his car in his home city of Almaty. He died of massive blood loss from multiple wounds at the age of 25 in 2018. “S.O.S D’UN TERRIEN EN DETRESSE” means in a sad lyrics says … “a soul’s plea for help or an earthly being in distress” because it is a human being who is in anguish searching for the absolute. Suffering and death is one of the realities of human life. It is important that we should know the basic truth about it, so that it will not cause us fear and distress in our human life’s , but rather to remind us all of our ultimate destiny as people of faith. For me, there are 3 kinds of suffering we experienced in life: 1st suffering that God allows, 2nd suffering which is the results of our own choices and decisions and 3rd is the suffering which is cause by other people to us. In whatever forms of suffering we are experiencing, know that, if it is discerned well it will gain us eternal merit. Note that, it is not important how much and how long we suffer, or who cause us to suffer, but how is our attitude towards it when it comes into our life…? All of these three can be an opportunity of grace that we will grow in virtue, when we accept it with humility, discernment and faith in God. Our usual human tendency is, if we can, we try to avoid any kind of pain and suffering in our life. However we can’t deny also that life is mixed up of many learning experiences both in joys and in difficulties and I supposed we need it both, because it contributes and helps us mature and grow in many aspects of life. Suffering and death may seem contrary to our own human thinking or world’s way of thinking but in it, there’s a certain wisdom which is richer and deeper that no one can fully understand. Suffering reminds us the real fact that we are all fragile human beings; that we are limited and we are not God. Sufferings are human reality and consequences of sin that affects us all. It helps us see the real worth and value of things and meaning in life. Likewise, if we are open to grace it helps us become vulnerable, sensitive and compassionate to others. It sharpens our awareness that this earth is not our permanent and true home. We should remember that we are only strangers and pilgrims on this earth” as Saint Paul reminded us that “our present sufferings are nothing to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us later. Suffering purifies and refines us of any life’s superficiality into an authentic one. Though no one really is actively searching for suffering in his / her life, but honestly truth compels us to admit that sufferings do have a great value in our life and by experiencing it personally in reality, you will never be the same person. The hope of heaven gives us joy even in the sufferings of this life. In God’s plan, human beings were created for holiness and eternal life with him. But through the original sin that enters human lives, our nature has been wounded, and is now subject to suffering and death. This was not part of God’s original plan, but now is already part of our human lives reality. Death for us is a frightening mystery because we are being stripped off of all our attachments to this world; our body lies corrupt; our immortal soul goes to meet the Lord. We will see the whole truth of our lives, and we will face God’s judgment. Death creates in us a feelings and emotion of fear, separation, sadness and pain. Many times we evade this reality and we try to question and even argue with God why…? But all our efforts failed because whether we like it or not at the end, we all die. Death comes in our life anytime anywhere. No material things, good health, young age can guarantee of its extension. The truth is… in front of death we are all poor and powerless. If this life were the only one we had, death would definitely be the great tragedy. But In God’s plan, however, death is not the end of everything, but the border that enables every human being to enter the endless place of eternity. For all those who have done their best to respond to God’s grace, to die is to cross from an imperfect type of existence into a new and fuller life lived in God’s presence. Often we feel the greatest misfortunes, when death struck in a person, depriving him or her greatest treasures a person can possess which is life itself. Death is such a peaceful event in our life, if we die in the state of grace, meaning if we died reconciled with God and at peace with others. Death is the end of our earthly life. Since it is unknown to all of us, the time of our death, therefore, it is best that we should prepare at all times, otherwise we are being caught by surprise of not being ready when God comes to take us to be with Him forever in our eternal home in happiness. Thanks indeed for this beautiful reaction video a piece sung by Dimash and for your great service to us. Gratefully yours, Ester Rabi, Philippines, South East Asia

Hey there! :) Where did you read that his vocal range is A2 - E6/D8? :-D First of all,the whistle register is part of the vocal range (and he also hit a D#7, E7s, F#7s, G7s and G#7s with his whistle register, not only the D8 :)) , second E6 is not his highest note in head voice either, he hits F6s in head voice in e.g. Diva Dance, The Crown, Unforgettable Day, Guests from Afar Please Stay, Know, Giamaica, Your Love, and a sustained F#6 in his Arnau promo. And you think A2 is his lowest note? Have you never listened to Sinful Passion, Love is Like a Dream, Love of Tired Swans, Confessa, Diva Dance, Ulisse, Opyat Metel, Kinalama, Don't Make Me Dream, Our Love, Your Love, Aliyah, Akkuym, Crane's Cry, Screaming, Sagindim Seni, What a Wonderful World, Know version 2, All by Myself version etc? :) You are aware that Dimash used to be called "The 6 Octave Man" and now even broadened his range to 7 octaves, right? :) Dimash's range is C#1 - D8 with growling and A1 - D8 without growling hm

You haven't seen all of his timbres yet. I would like to suggest Sinful Passion to you, which is traditionally the second song that Dimash beginners react to. You will get so much material to analyze because he is doing so many different things there in such rapid succession that you are probably going to stop every other second and talk yourself blue in the face. Or you just give up and let the video run like most vocal coaches do at a certain point, whereupon they are trying in vain to collect their thoughts after they have been dimashed. If you are going for Sinful Passion, please take the version without the horrible audio glitch right at the climax: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kLxCjIHhV-g.html

I have a suggestion, I hope you could hear the entire musical piece and then do the analysis repeating the sections that interest you the most. interpretation of Dimash .... thanks🙋‍♀️😷

By the way you'll probably notice this after listening a couple more times but the ( F#5 ) Rocky sound was a heady mixed voice not head voice and his mixed voice can reach insanely high to ( C6 ) . His full range based on public live performances is ( F2 to D8 ) even though there are some arguments that he went lower than the ( F2 ) . One more thing the slide up where you said he lost the vibrato was ( C6 to D6 to E6 ) and you'll be surprised to know that he can hit each one of these notes even the high E in connected head voice with insane vibrato and all in live performances , I can't wait for you to see more from him .

@@kolgerrard1964 Hello 😊 Thanks soo much!! :😊Just a few remarks 😊 a) yes, the F#5 is mix, you're totally right 😊 but it's not even a light (head resonance dominant) mix, is pretty balanced between chest and head voice resonance ratio b) He even went lower than F2 as a teenager 😊 That's veeery far from being his lowest note tbh 😊 His so far lowest note is C#1 with extended vocal techniques (growling) and A1 without. He hit an E2 as a teenager in Don't Make Me Dream, there's an E2 in Sinful Passion, an E2 in one live performance of Unforgettable Day and multiple E2s in Love of Tired Swans. There's a D2 in Love of Tired Swans and in Love is Like a Dream and an A1 in Love is Like a Dream. And as far as his growls are concerned.. his lowest growl in Our Love is G#1, in the new Diva Dance version it's F#1 and he hit several C#1s, D1s and D#1s in several live performances of Know. 😊 And yes, you are right, he can beautifully sustain D6s, Eb6s and E6s with vibrato 😊 There's even one sustained F6 with vibrato from him 😊
@Roman-yt8up
@Roman-yt8up 4 года назад
Yeah, it's mix. ::) I wouldn't call it "heady" though. And Dimash's range is not F2 - D8 but C#1 - A1 - C6 - F#6 - D8 :))

why the video sound screeching and sometimes lag? its seems like the video quality and its sound quality extremely horrible which i know its not. its make it hard to appreciate the performances. and every time you explain, its feel weird because we can't hear the real sound. i love Dimash btw. i can't think of anyone that can sings better than him in this world (not exaggerating though). i really think so and many people think so too.
