This was made during the height of Covid lockdown so all audio and video recordings were done at homes or other locations. Backgrounds were made and edited in by Eli.
Always great to see someone loving Voiceplay! They deserve it. Now, I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to suggest a few rules for Voiceplay I just came up with them on my own, but after years of being a Voiceplaya, I've found they're necessary for optimal Geoff solo/Voiceplay (and to a degree, Home Free as well) listening. If you've already got some of them down, know I'm just posting the list, not criticizing your reactor skills! The rules: #1) VERY important! ALWAYS watch to the very end of the video, or at least a ways into the patrons scrolling. Often times it may LOOK like the video has ended, but there's an outro. A black screen doesn't mean it's over. Also, watching to the end lets you see their awesome cover art, hear karaoke versions of the song, or listen to their music a little longer. #2) Always leave the closed captions on. Geoff's wife Kathy (who helps with their videos, she also appears in some, such an amazing woman!) has hearing loss, so sometimes there will be little hidden gems in the CC. #3) If you pause a video to speak, rewind it five-ten seconds before you start it again, to make sure you don't miss anything (and at worst, you get to listen to their awesome music again.) #4) Don't look away from the screen, or close your eyes for more than a second, because, again, you might miss a visual gag or clever moment. #5) Don't go into their videos with expectations on what the song will be like, i.e., that it will be the same as the original. These guys put their own spin on things. The only thing to expect, generally, is to be blown away by their sheer talent. #6) Unless you have a REALLY great speaker system with stereo sound, ALWAYS wear good headphones/earbuds with Voiceplay and Geoff. They do amazing little tricks you can only pick up with those hearing devices. Plus, some of Geoff's notes are so low you practically can't hear them without headphones.
I really do mean to write this politely so I hope my tone dose not come across in a bad way. I kindly want to clarify that there are no set rules for how I react on my channel. If you have preferences for content, please feel free to enjoy what resonates with you. It's important to recognize that each reactor is unique, and expecting uniformity contradicts the diversity of opinions and styles. Additionally, referencing AI and claiming things are not all the same, then expecting all reactors to follow made-up rules, seems contradictory.
Rose-are-ee-oh. He's a delightful guest, has the cutest little nose scrunch! He's also in their cover of "Hoist The Colors" which according to Spotify I listened to over 43,500 times last year, just Jan-Nov. Nope, I'm not kidding. I sleep to it. It soothes me. Also Jose plays a sailor in Voiceplay's "What Do We Do With a Drunken Sailor.'' He's a charming rogue.
