Volcana was one of those villains in this DCAU that made her being ‘saved’ pointless if they were just gonna bring her back as a villain as if those initial events never happened. But that’s really my only complaint about these cartoons, otherwise they’re always awesome.
If you think about it, its not that surprising she went bad again, technically speaking while she was on that tropical island, it was still a form of prison (and out of pity as well). I believe the reason she had to be hidden away was because they had not rounded up everyone responsible for her creation, which we wouldn't find out until years later in JLU was Cadmus. She likely got tired of waiting on Superman's handouts and went rogue.
I love that Clark recognized what Volcana really needed was just to live her own life on a secluded island without being constantly bothered or tested on by others
What I love about the first scene is that Volcana wasn't even wearing anything skimpy: even her hair was covered. It was just her voice, her demeanor and the way she talked that got to Skipper. And the poor fellow didn't even expect anything in return.
I think the way the writers wrote it is like Volcana has full control of her pyrokinesis and when she uses her power on Superman she ignites the air to create a explosion to hit Superman.
@@chungy0324 Still should not have bothered him. Its more that Superman hold back alot. If superman goes full power and uses all his abilities he should end it within 5 minutes.
@@godking Superman did say once in Justice League “ I feel like I’m living in a world of cardboard, always takes constant care not to break something, to break someone.” Meaning he mostly tries to hold back, even against his enemies and not to harm anyone in the process because he knows his own strength but feels that they are levels of strength he should use for certain enemies.
It's absolutely criminal that they never brought back Volcana or dove into her character more than just bringing her back as a one-dimensional villain, despite the fact that she clearly had a pretty intricate backstory and was very survival driven (In comparison to LiveWire, who was selfish and tripping on her new power, Volcana just wanted a normal life). Her relationship with Superman could have been SO GREAT, especially given how touched she was that Superman did everything in his power to give Volcana a free life. One of the most charming and gorgeous Superman villainesses.
My favourite Volcana bit is when she blows the whistle on the table and says. "The whistle was touched by the President's lips." With Donnie's response always making me laugh. "What wasn't?"
I wish she had more love and attention in the mainstream Superman comic books or any DC Comics. She had a lot of potential to be both a villain and anti-heroine.
I would like to see female character (Volcana) appear in another DC cartoon show someday. I really like this version of this female character VOLCANA, it’s because of her backstory, she wasn’t always a criminal, and she wasn’t always so destructive. In addition at some point she went from destructive criminal, to being helped by Superman, to get Justice for what was down to her, and to helping her find a place she can spend the rest of her life at, without the need to worry about any problems.
Although I wish she was only in her debut episode I'm glad that as a background character in the DCAU she managed to survive the Destroyer storyline in JL unlimited Anti US gov't anarchist with literal fire power? I live for that stuff
Likely she got tired of waiting in limbo, sure it was a paradise island, but how long would Volcana be willing to wait without being allowed to live her own life? They didn't end up finding the people responsible for her until years later (Cadmus in JLU), so after waiting long enough she probably went rogue. That's sadly why after she returned Superman didn't take her back to the island, she got the justice she deserved, metahuman prison (this was also handwaved here when Superman said the main reason she wasn't locked up was because of her powers, which became a non-issue come Justice League where they got used to containing superpowered bad guys)
@@youtubesicka4636 Hi friend, I was referring to a summoned elemental creature from the elder scrolls game series. Though now, I'm not sure which design came first - Volcana or the flame atronach.
Volcana is so HOT, figuratively and quite literally, especially being voiced by Peri Gilpin, who also voiced that sexy ghost genie Desiree from Danny Phantom. 😍🔥
Volcana is not a villain from the comics, she, like Harley Quinn, was made for Superman: TAS! Let us hope that she makes an appearance in My Adventures With Superman.
Back then, I guess DC needed to give Superman few female supervillains, like Livewire. Volcana is no doubt my favorite for she is (no pun intended) the hottest for his rogue gallery. If she's ever used again, I'd like to see Volcana as a anti-hero who intends to flirt with Superman.
Such a shame writers had to return her being back in metropolis as baddie. She had perfection when she got justice and Superman gave her peaceful life.
If it were up to me I would have Volcana reformed in the superman animated series and have her become a superhero afterwards. I would have her become a main character in the Justice League animated series as the eighth member of the Justice League because they're would be nothing wrong have another beautiful female hero in the league. She would continue to be a main character through the justice league and justice league unlimited series. She would appear in every episode in both series and have lines for each episode. Another thing I would do is have her gain the ability to fly in the Superman animated series. I would also change her name from Claire Selton to Zelda Selton.
Volcana's Voice: Peri Gilpin, Roz Doyle from T.V. Show: Frasier! 👍❤️🙏🦸 🌋 Would've been something to see fer fight Fire from Justice League Unlimited!🔥💥
Hey guys is it just me or does it seem like every time that Peri Gilpin voices a hot cartoon woman like Volcana and Desiree they don’t get even major appearances?
It was a conscious decision by the show's writers to "depower" Superman so when a villain shows up it is an actual threat. They kept it that way in the Justice League cartoon that came later so Superman wasn't solving every threat alone and had a reason for teaming up.
