This is easily the greatest commercial of all-time. The shots, the cuts, the music, the CONCEPT, and the line at the end. So well done. I remember seeing this on tv - it really takes me back. Watching it again literally brought tears to my eyes (but maybe that says more about me than the ad ...) FINALLY A HIGH QUALITY VERSION! Thanks!
I also remember watching this back in the day on TV. I liked it so much I looked it up on my PC back then and watched it quite a bit. Watching it now it brings back bitter sweet memories.
agree....true story....it convinced me to get a 2002 vw passat....and now i've had over 4 vw/audi's since then. Love it. Now whenever I purchase one...I play the song as I drive away LMAO
I’ve been watching the commercial consistently for almost two decades since I was a kid when it was introduced on tv. It’s so captivating and the music is so fitting. I’m officiating my friends wedding next weekend, and I so badly want to say “speak now or forever hold your peace” in this exact tone.
Good commercials - at best - when reminded of, have a "oh yeah!" quality. Great commercials don't need any hesitation in their recollection. This commercial has stuck with me since the first moment I caught it.
I think the choice of music is %60 of this commercial. J. Ralph - One Million Miles Away you can find the music from this link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1dna3VQ0q20.html&ab_channel=J.Ralph
i remember driveing like this 1 day but it wasnt b/c i had to stop a wedding i actually had diarrihea and when i got stuck by the train i screamed the same way he did
You see a bride getting ready for their wedding and a guy in a suit trying to beat traffic and you assume he's the groom but plot twist. He's there to break up the wedding.
The viewer is presented with the idea that the man in the VW is the groom, and the bride is worried he won’t show up on time to his wedding. In a twist, the groom was there the whole time and the marriage was nearly final, but the man in the VW made it in time to “speak now”, presumably because the VW is fast, or at least faster than a non VR6 version. The bride’s reaction shows her inner conflict between potentially 2 lovers, the one she was to marry and the one who interrupted the wedding. The story ends with no definite conclusion because it’s a VW commercial.
I don't remember this one, only the "Pink Moon" Nick Drake version where the kids are riding around the California countryside at night under a full moon. There's probably a reason I don't remember it......like it just wasn't that interesting and the song seemed pretty generic. I thought the guy speeding to the wedding in a Volkswagen was the groom.
