I have one confusion about this , why these capacitors are not getting discharged ?? like In steady state analysis we have studied that capacitors gets charged /discharged suddenly if resistor is not there , so once the diode is getting short they are getting charged but then they can discharged also in the 2nd half of the positive cycle/neg cycle ?? And another question is when d2 got shorted then current is flowing through the other terminal of c1 there na , then what is happening for c1 there ??

Hello Sir, Nice and clear explained video! thanks for that. I have one question. I have a 3 phase motor from an ebike (25v 250w). I want to use it as a generator. The coil of the (hub)motor is in star configuration. If I build 3 multipiers and put the coils of the transformers also in start configuration and connect them to the motor (now a generator), can I then put the outputs of the 3 multipiers in series to get I higher voltage? And if I connect them parallel do I then get an higher amperage output?

capacitor discharging when resistor present in ckt , there is no resistance
@vighneshutamse
@vighneshutamse 7 лет назад
Since there is no path for capacitor to discharge it maintains its peak value. It's a ideal circuit which is not possible practically. A resistor connected to a capacitor will discharge it.

I think use of so many capacitors will reduce the pulsating value of signal as mostly the value capacitance is quite high and hence we will obtain a constant DC output

during the second positive half cycle, the diode D1 cannot be a short circuit for the fact that the voltage across it is zero. (considering ideal conditions)
@soiyodkamal1040

you are right. i was confused how D1 got short circuited at second positive half cycle. now as far as i understand, the current from c2 goes through the transformer and then C1 resulting in 2vm+1vm-1vm=2vm voltage accross C3. please correct me if i'm wrong. and also thanks for pointing this out

during first cycle d3 is also on so why not c3 and c2 get charged during first cycle only
@belleluze
@belleluze 5 лет назад
I'm only a beginner but I believe that the reason is because current will always try to find the shortest rout to ground. so if you think about it the shortest rout to ground at this point is through D1. I could be wrong tho.
@naveennataraj1578
@naveennataraj1578 4 года назад
I guess that c2 and c3 are also charged in the first cycle upto vm. He is not considering them. In the second positive cycle they are fully charged. So he is considering them at that time.

Good lecture, but I have some questions. In the first cycle, yes, C1 is charged because current flows thought it, but why not C2 and C3? Is it because all the current after C1 goes to D1? And in the third cycle, second positive cycle, C1 is charged as Vm, which means, as I understood, voltage drops by Vm. Then when Vin is Vm, doesn't the right node of C1 have 0 of voltage? because Vin is Vm and voltage drops by Vm passing C1. Then D1 wouldn't turn on. I wonder why he didn't mind the voltages of capacitors.

DEBAJYOTI ADHIKARI in the US we use the actual polarity of the terminal. So it we will end with ( +vm+vm-vc2=0 ) but he’s always multiplying the equation by the factor (-1).
