The internet says this car takes 5.8L of oil. Decades ago I overfilled an engine with oil and it died within weeks so I'm super careful about capacity. My C30 oil changes start with 5.7L, low, 5.8L, low, 5.9L, low... 7 litres!
I strongly encourage everyone to do their own oil changes. My girlfriend is on her third splash shield because the oil change places don't put all the bolts back in and it ends up getting ripped and destroyed while driving. They also over tighten the oil filter, we ruined the cap taking it off last time, it just twisted and fell apart.
Everytime I buy an oil filter for my c30 the filter comes with two o rings. One really thick one with almost a pull tab on it and one normal size one. I always use just the normal o ring but I have always wondered what the extra thick o ring is for? A different car?
It litterarly says so on the panel in the trunk, and in the Manual, but thanks. Also you forgot about 5w-30 viscosity, but hey, as long as its Castrol you're good right? Lol

This video is all about how to do it wrong. that car is using the B5254T3 engine and it take 5.8L castrol oil. that dude filled over 6.5 Liters of oil on that car. now in a few days it will probely start to leak from the seals. he starts the car with 6 liters of oil in the engine. and then stop it to teck the oil level. the only thing he does not do is leting the oil drain to the oilpan. and sins its low on the pin he adds 0,5 Liters more. wtf do not listhen to this guy's

I might not spell good english because this is not my native language. but I am a Volvo Technician. so who is the fool now ? and I may also have a Volvo V50 T5 with same engine. And may have worked on thos for 5 years now. so if you wona do the same as this guy go ahead no one is stoping you.
