A look at a promising Super Nintendo title from Naxat that was ultimately shelved right before launch and seemingly forgotten about. Souseikishou VORG (創世紀章ヴォーグ) was a 16-bit real-time simulation game from Naxat that had a planned release date of March, 1995 in Japan that you probably have never heard of. What separates this from many other scrapped game titles, however, is that there's barely any information about the game online in English or Japanese, and as of 2022, no ROMs are available on the internet. It seems like it is a truly forgotten game.
I found some trailers for the game in a couple of rare "not for sale" Japanese VHS tapes that were intended to generate pre-orders of upcoming software releases. As far as I know, the footage in these tapes are not available publicly anywhere online. In this video, I talk about those tapes, give information on the gameplay and other features of VORG based on its trailer, and show the trailer itself with English subtitles.
