Vortic Watch Tour (Fort Collins, CO) 

Love this company. I got me great grandfathers watch made into a wrist watch three years ago and love it. My dad just passed a couple of weeks ago and inherited my great Grandfathers other pocket watch and am going to send it to Vortic to be transformed into a wrist watch for my grand boy. Love what RT is doing. Awesome company. 😊

Very cool, thanks Rob for taking us there. I was not aware of them. As a child I inherited my grandfather’s Elgin. It’s not valuable but does have nice blued hands. A few years ago I got it serviced and it keeps good time, but isn’t used. I gave it to my son but might take it back, now that I know a watch case could be made for it.

Where is the "LOVE" button when you need it? Amazing video that shows just how much goes into these incredibly beautiful watches, which have to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. Definitely want one of these!

Very cool video! My youngest daughter’s father in law Kent is one of Vortic’s watchmakers.

These sort of factory tours are an important part of convincing people that there are differences in product. That 200 USD on an Aliexpress special is not necessarily equivalent to a 2000 USD+ watch. If you've never worked in manufacturing or engineering, it can be hard to understand how difficult marginal gains are. And marginal gains can mean a world of difference. Brakes and tyres that stop in 30 m vs 35 m for a cheaper alternative could literally be life and death. Granted, watches are generally less dramatic than that. But a lot of the interesting and important parts of life happen at the margins. Thanks for the factory tour, and consistently good videos over many years, Rob.

I’m from Fort Collins and didn’t know they are, too. I think I’m basically required to own one now… The OtterBox is a nice practical touch compared to packaging that just takes up storage space.

Reminds me of the time I took a tour of Jasper engines and transmissions many years ago in Indiana. Everything has its spot along the process. From the manufacturing of small pieces to assembly to final testing. Impressive operation Vortic has. That equipment is not cheap!

These watches are pretty cool. I am looking for a used one. I have yet to find one. I will proudly wear one.

Saw these pieces at the Jack Mason store last week for the meet up they had. Really impressive stuff. A little big for some wrists but still cool.

Rob, my question is comfort. Are they wearable for a 6 1/2 inch wrist or just too heavy/large. They did not mention titanium. Is that an option?

I’ve always liked what Vortic does. However..I’ve always looked at their watches as very overpriced. This video gives a little more insight into how much they put into each watch and shows why the cost is what is…pretty cool
