Voyageurs National Park - Chain of Lakes 2024 

Here are some highlights from our 2024 Voyageurs National Park trip. We spent 5 days and 4 nights exploring the beautiful park hiking, paddling, and fishing along the way. Our itinerary went as follows:
Day 1: Water taxi to Locator Lake trail head then hike 2 miles to boats, followed with a paddle to War Club Lake backcountry site for the night.
Day 2: War Club Lake site paddle to Loiten Lake site. Two portages this day.
Day 3: Loiten Lake site paddle back to Quil Lake site. One portage this day.
Day 4: Quil Lake site paddle to Locator Lake site. One portage this day.
Day 5: Locator Lake site paddle to boat drop off then hike back to Locator Lake trail head and water taxi out.
The trip consisted of stunning views, great fishing, lots of wildlife viewing, and privacy as there is only one backcountry site per lake. Be warned, this trip is not for the faint of heart, you must be prepared and comfortable with multiple portages, temperamental weather, and hoards or ticks and mosquitoes. But if you can manage these things this is a once in a lifetime experience that is well worth the effort!
