Laurence was the one who made a deal with the Moon Presence. Moon Presence makes immortal hunters, and in return, Laurence would bring it a baby, all Great Ones want baby. Gehrman was essentially collateral, and Laurence died before he could hold up his end of the bargain, so Gehrman is stuck there.

Also 7:59 ye the Cleric beasts and every other beast in game is a result of Blood overusage. You can see this best with Gascoine because he succumbs to the blood halfway into the fight which is why he goes Beast mode

From what I've understood Laurence made a deal with the Moon Presence for the Hunters Dream and Gherman made a deal with Oedon to bring his waifu doll to life once he was left holding the bag from Laurence becoming Lava Wolf thus not being able to up hold the deal for the Dream.

To be fair part of the problem with ludwig being so hard was I was like ng+12 and stopped leveling at 185 i think for pvp.

The last trophy i got in bloodborne was beating the queen of yharnam at the end of the chalice dungeons. And she wasn't even the hardest boss i fought, cause i did everything solo.

About Ds2: sounds like nobody told her how important ADP is in it. As for some bosses being easier or outright easy, what level you are at when you find them matters (for all fromsoft games), and the dlc for bloodborne makes it super easy to be under leveled for most of it, and yet its possible to be over leveled as well. Go to the dlc as soon as possible and it can be a nightmare, or just beat the base game and then go to the dlc and bam, over leveled for Ludvig at least. Skill matters of course, and liking certain styles of combat also has an effect. Some bosses are easy if you use a huge weapon while others require light and fast weapons. Some can even be cheesed fairly easily with ranged stuff. As for Bloodborne: The vials heal a % of max health unlike Dark Souls and Elden Ring, meaning leveling vigor to 40 or even higher can make a huge difference in how the game is experienced.

The orphan was not too bad of a boss for me. The shadows of yharnam on the other hand........ oooooh they were the absolute bane of my existence for awhile

In regard to finding Ludwig easy - question for you: were you on NG or NG+ when you went into DLC? Because most of the complaints were people who could only access the DLC area after having completed the game once already Edit: (also, kinda hard to listen to that claim while you had a summon lol)

Elden rings is kinda similar difficulty to any other souls games but theirs more ways to power level and more broken interactions that kill bosses faster than they intended so it becomes easier by default back when like int and wisdom builds had their own little one touch death Lazers that could merk bosses bleeding which has been nurfed like every patch in still is one of the top cheese strats to plow through content along with poison that was seen as less of a problem child but I think after all the patches is the new top way to breeze through things that aren't resistant to poison you can go kill an obese dragon at level 1 with a bleed weapon and get 28 levels off it to start the game like thats the real reason elden ring is considered the easiest and the reason bloodbourne is usually sited as slightly more difficult is cause gun parrys raise the skill ceiling over normal dodge roll game play of the main game

I'm going to be completely honest I died to ROM of all things way more than any other boss. Of my 3 playthroughs I have collectively died ~60 times to Rom. To compare, died to Ludwig twice, 4 times to Orphan of Kos, Maria ~25 times (17 of which are on purpose because it is my 3rd favorite FromSoft fight so I purposely extend the battle by dying), and Laurence 3 times. This is all with no summons and very minimal extra items (i.e. blood cocktail om bloodstarved beast)

I ventured into the Chalice Dungeon where you fight Rom. It's not harder, per se. Yes, she hits harder, and the minions are absolute bastards, but the chamber is much smaller, so she doesn't spam her magic attacks.

Fruit by the foot was mid to me. Basically candy.

Personally, i found Ludwig far more difficult than Kos. Most hated was in a later chqlice dungeon. I guess different players are better at dealing with different bosses.

Summoning in Elden ring made it harder for me and my friends lol, we wanted to play with each other but half the time had to go in solo to kill the boss because it was easier without the health scaling

Elden is the easiest because it's the most accessible. You can bring friends in all the DS games. That's not what makes it easy. What makes it easy is the freedom to ignore hard bosses and come back when your OP. Also the fact that a third of the bosses are just repeats of other bosses you've already fought so there's nothing new to learn for them. Also the npc summons are OP (looking at you Mimic tear and Black Knife) there are alot of other reasons why elden ring is the easiest but this is just a comment so I won't do all that. Basically it's repeat bosses, npc summons, the open world aspect, and that they intentionally made elden ring easier on purpose to bring in more players. (Which was a good idea clearly cuz it worked.)

Pretty much the only reason you don't turn into a beast in bloodborne is because youre an outsider who came to yharnam to look for the secrets of healing for some disease. You were just kidnapped and turned into an all powerful hunter on a whim

just leaving a comment here that the "waifu doll" theory is likely a joke. With how Gehrman talks in his sleep about Laurance needing to finish something I think its much more likely that he made the deal with the Moon Presence to set up the respawn mechanic that you use in the game to do let Laurance do something/ make sure the blood moon ends whenever it pops up (its at least implied that might be why you kill Mergo in their crib). As for the doll... it might be that he just was able to animate in through the pact or something else in the dream realm that the Hunter's Dream is in just possesses it and wants to help you because it also helps itself (its at least implied that this thing might be an aspect of Formless Oedon) Edit: and all this is complicated even more by it may have been Oedon that Gehrman made the pact with to drive out another great old one from Yarnum, meaning the doll levels you because you act as its champion so to speak and the reason why when Gehrman dies the moon presence attacks you is he might act as some form of anchor point for the dream (its in the form of his old workshop after all and an empty abyss after all) and it takes control form Oedon by installing its own anchor under its own control (which is a risk to say the least because in another ending you become a baby great old one by killing it if you can resist its control over you; which may be what Oedon wants because all of the great old ones have a desire to have kids and may view this as basically adopting and raising a child that won't die before itself in the guise of the doll)). But yeah the TLDR is we don't know why Gehrman made the deal, just that it likely allows a human the possibility of fighting off the presence of great old ones (because why else would it help exclusively the organization that does that) to preserve the city that he built so the Pthumerian "cycle" dosn't play out again and why a great old one possibly agreed to this is vague on which one and why
