Thx for the video. So, im preparing a bell housing for bench testing my VW engine... and i had plans to put my old starter motor into bellhousing. But did i hear you correctly; Do NOT bench test this? 😵
There have been times when I would bench test the starter and the pinion gear would come out fast and spin normally. Then I would have times when it did it but sent the gear out flying or flying into pieces everywhere! Do be very cautious when benching a starter when there's no shield present!
