An alternative to having the control arm and bracket off is to unbolt the steering rack from the subframe on both sides. I think it's recommended anyway to avoid stressing the steering rack. Great vid btw.

What are the torque settings for the control arm bracket and sub frame bolts?

Great video! It seems a bit complicated to DIY myself... I am planning on just adding the rear sway bar instead. Any comments on how the drive feels now?

Do i need to use a grinder to cut open the eom brackets or i can just use a flat screw driver to force open?

I am looking to replace the bushings on my oem sway bar with poly bushings. Can I unbolt the bushing brackets, remove and reinstall without removing the complete sway bar? I have an 09 Scirocco, but I think it's the same suspension as your Golf GTI. Looks the same. Your reply and advice would be greatly appreciated. Great instructional videos btw

Do you have the torque specs for the subframe bolts?

Did you have to get an alignment after dropping the subframe? Do those centering devices for the subframe bolts allow you to get away without having to do an alignment?

How did you do this job without dropping the steering bolts connecting the steering wheel?

I've just got some new bsuhes for mine after installing them I am able to move the sway bar up and down is this normal? Before it would only move a tiny bit the OEM bushes clamped it in position very tight

I installed front sway bar Eibach 26mm on 2010 sportwagen and it rub's on the right side drive axle shaft when steering it turned hard left, has any one had such problem? I dropped the whole sub frame replace the sway bar and added the sub frame bushing kit left the control arm attached to the brackets, drilled out the sway bar brackets nut as video nuts went back into the brackets with out grinding the top of nuts. job took 3 hr's

Would it not have been easier to drop the whole subframe?.
